I’ve worked with driver logs and ELDs, but there were times when I wasn’t sure if I was interpreting something correctly or if I was missing an issue in the records. I decided to take the HOS & ELD Administration for Dispatchers / Safety Managers course through DOT Compliance Academy, and it helped clear up a lot for me. I liked that it went beyond just teaching the rules and showed how those rules come up in real work situations. Some of the examples made me think about things I’ve actually seen while dealing with driver logs. It also helped me understand what I should pay closer attention to when reviewing ELD records and HOS information. I’m a lot more comfortable talking about HOS and ELDs now, and I feel like I have a better understanding of what I’m looking at when something doesn’t seem right. Overall, it was time well spent and something I can actually use in my day-to-day work.

I had many questions regarding managing the DOT drug and alcohol program, including Clearinghouse regulations, random tests, and actions to take in case of a violation. “DOT Drug & Alcohol Program Administration for DERs & Clearinghouse Compliance,” helped me get a clear understanding of the topics. I appreciate that the course covered the most relevant issues that DERs may encounter. In addition, the course provided me with knowledge that I could easily assimilate because it was explained in a simple and understandable way. I am confident that I can handle my responsibilities as a DER much better after taking this course.

I took the Drug & Alcohol Workplace Safety Training for Drivers course through DOT Compliance Academy. I wasn’t totally sure about some of the DOT drug and alcohol rules or how the testing process worked, so I decided to take the course. It cleared up a lot of things for me. The lessons were straightforward and easy to get through, and I liked that they didn’t make the rules more complicated than they needed to be. DOT Compliance Academy did a good job keeping everything clear and practical. I have a much better understanding of the requirements now.
