DO NOT trust DoRoyal. I purchased multiple domains and every single one got stuck on “Pending” for weeks. Support is basically nonexistent... tickets go unanswered and you’re completely ignored. It feels like once they have your money, they disappear.

We've recently overhauled our entire domain registration process, and reduced the price for every domain across the board. As a result, we're actually now one of the cheapest places to buy a .COM. We're investing heavily into our domain stuff, having let it be just a side-thing to our hosting for well over a decade.

Having said that, we've had some issues, especially over the last two or so weeks. There was a firewall conflict that made it so orders placed through our Portal weren't being sent to the registrar, which in turn prevented the domain from being registered.
This was identified and fixed within the last 12 hours, and we're going through all pending orders now and processing them by hand. Since there are quite a few pending domain orders, the process could take another couple of days to fully complete. However, your domain should get fully registered within 72 hours.

If you're able to bump your ticket up as well, we can prioritize your domains in the registration queue. If not, then expect to have things fully good to go soon.

As for our support being nonexistent, we're still dealing with a backlog of a few hundred tickets. Admittedly, we're understaffed right now, opting to hire almost exclusively on the server management side of things, to ensure that our network itself is stable, updated, and reliable. The downside, is our support has unfortunately fallen behind.
We'll be hiring new staff over the summer, and aim to have an average response time of 30 minutes or less by the end of 2026. We're also looking to set up new offices, and will have more to share on that once things are a bit more official.

Long story short, we're investing fairly heavily into the future of DoRoyal. We're launching a new VPS line this month, and have some of the lowest prices in the industry for both hosting and domains (and soon, VPS). We're not going anywhere, and are committed to making sure every single customer is properly taken care of.

Excellent pricing, good performance, slow support.

Excellent pricing. My site has never experienced an outage. However, customer support is the biggest drawback (it's slow). I've only opened two tickets which were resolved in 20 days (average), but my website is not critical in any manner, so for me, this is not a major issue. Overall, I'm content with DoRoyal's service and price, it's good enough for my current needs.

Still no answer to numerous tickets.
Domain not renewed despite auto-renewal on + funds in the account.
Domain now locked, can't even move it away.
Glad this is not my production environment otherwise would be a disaster.
Worst hosting service ever. Not recommended.

I've been hosting with DoRoyal for 2 years and love them.

I've been hosting with DoRoyal for 2 years now, I started on a Jester plan, Upgraded to Queens plan, and now happy to be the new Realm plan. Rarely is there any issues, the migration to the new data center has been a big improvement. Date of today is because I upgraded to Realm today!

Server has been down for weeks

Their server with my websites on it has been down for over a month (its still down) This is the response I get from customer support
"...I'm sorry to hear that your domains are down. Our team is currently investigating the situation, and we understand how critical it is to have your services back online. Unfortunately, I cannot provide a specific timeline for when the domains will be operational again, but rest assured that our staff is working diligently to resolve the issue. In the meantime, there is no immediate action you can take that would expedite the process from your end."
Are they hoping I will switch to another hosting service after I paid for "Lifetime" hosting? Starting to feel like they aren't going to fix the problem anytime soon.

Apparently I‘m not the only one facing severe recurring issues with this provider.
I‘ve also purchased the lifetime offer through a 3rd party.
What if we would all connect together and get some shared lawyer involved to collectively gather evidence and get this legally tracked down?

I would not engage with this provider at all. But also not willing to abandon and let them get away with this.

Thoughts?

While it may not always match the rapid…

While it may not always match the rapid support reply times of larger service providers, I believe DoRoyal still represents a great value, particularly for those operating within a budget and possess some experience in managing their own hosting environments. Although the response times may not be quite as fast as those of its competitors, I have personally encountered no difficulties in obtaining support when needed(though again slower than bigger providers). I do recommend their services to individuals who already possess experience with hosting and seek an economical solution.

THE WORST EVER HOSTING

I will start by saying that there are a lot of paid reviews here ( see the "20 years hosting website" review ).

that being said, just like all the other TRUE reviews, this guy is an amateur. he always talks about a team, he is clearly just a one man show in a garage God knows in what country.
a lot of downtime, like a lot. emails that work or not, and the cherry on top he decided to a stupid, amateur move migration to who know what server.
IP blacklisted, servers down, and nothing but excuses and false pretenses.
STAY AWAY FROM HIM. i DON'T KNOW IN WHAT LANGUAGE TO WRITE IT

Hey there,

Just want to confirm that we have never paid for a review, nor do we encourage that practice.

We had to move datacenters recently, which resulted in a few unplanned downtimes, including and most notably DNS. This move was required, as our previous datacenter no longer functions as a datacenter, requiring that we move all of our servers elsewhere. (literally just down the street, actually)
To be clear though, our hosting as a whole is very reliable, with a near 100% uptime ratio throughout our last decade + of hosting.

As for the comment on the "team", we work with a contracted management company to assist with server related issues. Whenever we reference a "team", it's usually regarding them.

We're based in Canada, but have our servers hosted in Kansas City.

HORRIBLE for email

Web hosting is generally good, until you have a problem. My problem is with email. The offer OX App Suite for email. I PRE PAID for the service to DoRoyal, but DoRoyal apparently doesn't pay OX App and every month my email service gets cancelled for up to 3 weeks. The only way to get support is to open a ticket with DoRoyal, which they completely ignore. I have tickets open for nearly 2 months with no response at all. If I had not prepaid I would cancel this service altogether.

Having a domain for over 2 decades now...

Having a domain online for over 20 years I've had several hosting services - too many to remember their names. (probably about 10 total)

At one time I had over 12 domains hosted on several servers. Currently I have 5 domains hosted on 2 different hosting services. I also have a virtual machine somewhere in Europe that I sometimes use to host a domain.

In many ways Sidular DoRoyal is one of the best hosting services that I've used. They have been reliable, responsive to support tickets, and overall a lot of "fun" for a tech nerd like me. They currently host 3 of my 5 active domains. No regrets.

Worst customer service on planet earth

Worst customer service on planet earth.
Tyler at doRoyal is nothing more than a 1 man shop in a frozen garage in Canada.

Takes weeks and weeks for support "tickets" to even be responded to.

The service is constantly compromised and off line.

I made the mistake of registering a 2nd domain Jan 8 2025. It still in a "pending" status with no response to 3 attempts to communicate with whomever

Heed These 1 Star Reviews

My regrettable interaction with this mess occurred back in 2022, and for whatever reason has resurfaced in November 2024. Back in 2022 I tried to use a coupon from a 3rd party website to get lifetime hosting, but apparently I put the wrong type of account in my cart because why would I choose anything other than the "Starter Plan" when I am STARTING. There was no instruction to use "Eternal Kingdom" plan for the coupon I acquired. I opened a support ticket because there was no place to use the coupon I paid for from a 3rd party website, DoRoyal offered to correct this mistake to the right account type which was welcome. However, they didn't do anything! They never made any corrections and closed the ticket due to inactivity. This was in 2022.

Fast forward to November 2024 I randomly get a prompt to pay an invoice for $45? Not only that but since I rarely check this email, I see I've started to get these emails EVERY DAY. To this day I'm leaving this review 1/9/2025 I have gotten an invoice prompt for an incomplete transaction from more than 2 years ago. I could not use the coupon, nothing was fixed from the support ticket, so nothing was purchased.

I've read in the owner's response to other reviews that they never spam... HAH. That is a flat out lie. I worked in accounts receivable, no reputable business spams for an unjustifiable payment everyday randomly starting 2 YEARS LATER. I would not be leaving a review if they just left me alone after snubbing me as a customer years ago. Do not touch this business with a 10 foot pole.

From 11/13/2024 to 1/9/2025 I've received 56 unwanted emails from DoRoyal basically harassing me at this point. I don't expect them to stop.

Web Hosting Experience

Like others, I went through the recent power outage at Joe's Data Center and the resulting hard drive crash on the Royal 2 server. It took a while for the equipment to be replaced and the reloading of the data. Although it was frustrating, it has been resolved, and I believe the owner was doing his best to fix it as soon as possible. He is also making some changes to prevent it in the future.

It's easy to be negative after something like this, but I can say I've had several issues in the past, mostly due to my limited computer expertise, and the owner has been very helpful in resolving these issues. I don't think any other hosting company would have provided the support DoRoyal provided me. Customer support has always been important to me, and the owner takes this very seriously.

The majority of my other experience with this hosting has been very good, so overall I still feel they should get a 5-star rating. Every company has an occasional issue. If they resolve the issue in a reasonable amount of time, and then provide good service and value the rest of the time, I will continue doing business with them and recommend them to others.

After 20 years of hosting websites, I chose DoRoyal as my main hosting company

I've been with DoRoyal for over a year now and while not everything was smooth (but I've been hosting websites elsewhere since 2004, and there have always been problems, that's life), the owner of the DoRoyal takes ownership of the issues as they come up. As the company is not that big, that means that Tyler develops a rapport with his clients in a way that's inconceivable with 99% of the other hosting companies out there, where you're just a random user overpaying for a shared server.

After 20 years of hosting websites I chose DoRoyal as my hosting provider and I can wholeheartedly recommend them as they bring competence and human touch to their already awesome hosting offer.

Focused on being the best.

I have never seen a hosting company so focused on their customers. Every problem or question I have had, they have quickly resolved and responded to me in depth—a great learning experience for me. Even with the act of God catastrophe they recently experienced, they worked diligently and relentlessly to get everything quickly back to normal, keeping us all apprised of the progress. Even more, they learned from the experience and put in improvements and safeguards to prevent it from happening again. This is a great host service that I recommend to everyone.

They've had some bad luck recently with DDOS attacks and their server centre in America letting them down (which is where the influx of negative reviews have come from I guess, somewhat understandably) but Tyler, the owner, has communicated what's happening every step of the way and been honest. He also gives personal support to make things right where he can. Which hosting owner cares enough to do that? I've been with some cheap hosts and believe me, what we get here in comparison is skewed way in favour of us, the customer. Recommend. Al

If a billing error occurred, please reach out and we'll try to get this sorted for you. Do take note that we do not charge $49 for a lifetime plan. This is a promotional rate operated by a third party, and not DoRoyal directly. If you had any issues with the original point of sale, you'll want to take it up with them.

We will only close your account if you violate our terms of service, and even then, we'll try to do everything we can to work with you before we shut your account down. We do not, have not, and will not, close your account for seemingly no reason.

I know you said you didn't want to share any more details, but could you please do so? I'd like to try and get to the bottom of this, and make things right. As of right now, and with the lack of information shared, your review really doesn't align with our internal operating policies and procedures. In fact, it directly contradicts them.

Unreliable Service and Poor Support Experience

I have been using DoRoyal for hosting my website, and my experience has been far from satisfactory. While the initial setup was relatively straightforward, the service has proven to be unreliable and the support lacking.

Cons:

Frequent Downtime: My website and the DirectAdmin panel frequently experience downtime. Recently, I encountered an issue where the server (royal2.doroyal.com) completely refused connections, preventing access to both my website and the admin panel. This is unacceptable for any hosting service, especially when reliability is crucial.

Unhelpful AI Support: The automated AI support system, Jester AI, failed to address the actual issue at hand. Despite providing detailed information, the AI misinterpreted the problem as a user error in logging in, rather than recognizing a server-side issue. This led to frustration and wasted time, as the AI system cannot escalate issues or connect users with a human support agent.

Lack of Human Support: The support system seems to rely heavily on AI, with no easy way to connect with a human representative. This is a significant drawback, especially when dealing with more complex issues that require immediate attention and resolution.

No SSL Detected: Despite configuring my website, the hosting did not include SSL certification, which is a basic security feature that should be standard.

Really sorry to hear that you've been having issues with us. I'll try to do my best to answer all of your concerns.

We are actively experiencing an outage caused by the recent storm in Kansas City, which is where our datacenter is located. The power outage resulted in a hardware failure. We're still in the process of restoring everything.
This information is provided on our server status page, as well as on our Discord. We try to be as upfront as possible whenever things go down, or issues are detected. If you're ever in doubt, be sure to check the status page first, and then check our discord for any server-alerts.

As for the support stuff, we only utilize our Jester AI within a single department. In fact, you must actually specifically select this department to talk to the AI. We make it very clear that you're talking to an AI as well, with the department being called "Jester AI" and its description being "Get an immediate response by our helpful Jester AI bot! Need instant help? Open a ticket here."

Every other support department is fully managed and run by actual humans. Out of all twelve of our departments, only one is AI based. (though it's true that our staff cannot actively respond within the Jester AI department)

Beyond that, we also provide human support on our Discord server, on Mastodon, on Facebook, and our public forums. We try to make reaching out with an actual human as easy and straightforward as possible.

As for SSL, this is actually fully included for free. If the system didn't generate a certificate for you automatically, you may need to generate a new certificate yourself. Just go to the SSL Certificates section of DirectAdmin, and follow the instructions provided. Alternatively, we can also assist you with this process, and even fully do it for you, if you require that.

We try to be very hands-on as far as our support and such goes. So if you ever have any issues, or if you need help with something that you don't know how to do? Just reach out.

Sorry again if there was any confusion. As said, we try to make all of our resources and policies as public as possible. If you feel like we could be doing better, let us know by opening a ticket to our Feedback department.

As for the issues with our services, the error you're experiencing seems to be related to the server firewall blocking your IP, and is not a part of or otherwise caused by our ongoing DDoS attacks. Logging into our Portal should fix this for you automatically. If not, could you update your ticket (or reach out on Discord) with your active IP address, please?

To confirm, despite you yourself being unable to access things, your website is actually fully online and accessible to the internet at large. The outage is localized just to your own personal internet connection.
