I got caught out back in October 2025, I had difficulty with the card payment and rang my bank SANTANDER to be told they were a trusted merchant and promised a full refund which never arrived as the bank were still allowing this criminal company to trade for several more months!! Today 5 months later I have received a full refund and consider the banks are encouraging these constant scammers

Dorothy bags advertised a quality hand crafted bag, original price £145 sale price £ 29. The bag I received was very small, cheap thin plastic, nothing like the one I expected. It is a complete scam, there is no Dorothy or shop closing down. If I had known the bag was made in China I never would have ordered it. I am very disappointed that people are getting scamed this way

I would not give any stars. Terrible customer service. You cannot get your money back however hard you try.

Bags not leather and delivery took too long

Bought a supposedly leather bag recently . It took over a week to arrive and I so wish I had read their reviews first! Poor thin quality but ok for a day to day bag, though I wouldn’t have paid what I did for it if I had seen it in the flesh first. If it was in the uk I would return but it doesn’t seem worth the effort, having read other customers’ experience.
Don’t use them. Don’t be fooled by their cosy advertising.

The product is not leather. The company is not British as implied and the cost of return postage for a refund is prohibitive. You can buy the exact same product from Temu for less than 5.00.
It is a total scam.

Sent scam emails saying I’ve placed orders with scam links. SCAMMERS! Stay away and block.

Please don't use this company they are totally untrustworthy. The address they give on their website us not recognised by Royal Mail. I purchased 3 bags in July stated they were leather - they are not and the quality is appalling. They state returns are free no questions asked. It took weeks of phoning a mobile number and emailing i am still waiting for instructions as to where i can return these bags . They don't reply to emails or calls for weeks. I suspect they are not even a UK based company. I suspect China. They were closing down in July hence the stock sale they are still trading in November taking advantage of idiots like me. Please please don't buy from this company

I ordered a bag which arrived after about a week. The enail address and telephone number for this company are uk addresses snd number but tge company is based in Hong Kong. Item was not leather as advertised. Same item is much cheaper than other sites. I paid 6 times more than i found it on snother dite later so dusappointed by this

I'd ordered my bag before I read the reviews (silly me), so was expecting something terrible to be sent.
Parcel took 10 days to arrive, it was packaged well and was nothing like the horror stories I'd read about.
The quality is quite good considering it's obviously not leather and is on par with bags purchased around the same price £40.
People would be better off buying from somewhere in person as everyone's experience seems to be underwhelming to say the least.

I ordered a bag in September which still wasn't delivered by November. After a slew of emails back and forth, I am pleased to report that I got a refund in full. They agreed that the order had not been processed. Thank you Dorothy Bags.

I was sceptical after some reviews especially as my bag took a little while to arrive - but arrive it did - and well packaged with dust bag etc - it is well made - holds it shape - and it looks good - it may not be leather as we expect (the smell - the feel - the logo that does not mention Dorothy Bags) but for the price you pay it is excellent value for the money I paid - they really don’t need to give us any PR (true or false) about ‘Dorothy’ retiring- it is just enough to say good looking bags at a fair price.

Scam company. Bag is not leather, it’s the cheapest form of plastic and also smells of plastic. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE. The bag is going in the bin, that’s all it’s good for.

I haven't bought anything thank goodness but this is the same format as Nola Boutique ( Scam jewellery) check out them on Trustpilot. As soon as I saw this company (Dorothy bags) I knew it looked the same format. AVOID.

What went right??
THIS IS A SCAM, of course. I should have known better, and done some research before I ordered.
When I finally received the bag, I was so pleased I hadn't paid a huge amount for it. The quality is awful, the material may (just) be very thin leather, but 2 of the zips pull apart when closed, and the synthetic smell of the strange paper-like lining material hit me when I opened the package. The lining doesn't fit, and catches in the zips, and the over-body handle is very thin and barely fits me (and I'm only 5ft 1in tall!!). Having been deeved by emails looking for more custom (with even more money off), I tried the tracking, and eventually learned that the bag (allegedly from a London address) had "arrived at outgoing customs"; "left outgoing customs"; arrived at incoming customs" and "cleared incoming customs". OK, I live in Scotland, but really?? The London address doesn't exist.
In answer to the lady who hasn't received her bag(s) and is wondering how to get a refund - DON'T try to claim from this company. They'll try to get you to return the bag(s) to CHINA AT YOUR EXPENSE. (I checked - Royal Mail wanted £45+ and insisted it would have to go Tracked or the company would simply deny getting it!).
If you spent over £100 on a Credit card, contact them for a refund - maqybe try even if less, as this is a scam). If less, contact your bank, tell them you've been scammed and ask them to refund your money. They can then deal with these people.
I haven't bothered, though I could use the £27.99 I paid. Instead, I've amused myself answering their AI generated emails and leaving really bad reviews everywhere I can. It was my own fault I fell for this, and didn't do enough research before ordering.
Good luck to those who spent way over the odds for this rubbish. It's not your fault - these scammers are getting better at it, and AI allows them to write emails etc that aren't immediately obvious as translations. I'm also very sorry for the genuine small businesses trying hard for a customer base, as soon no one will believe anything.

Ordered 2 Bags as gifts. Although they arrived well packaged, it is very clear they are not leather but a very cheap alternative material.
Using their "no quibble" returns procedure, I contacted them to request a return. A very swift response apologising and asking for details and photos of the goods which I supplied.
No further communication has been received from them despite 4 further emails from myself in the last 3 days.
BE WARNED. These are not fine handcrafted leather goods and "Dorothy" is not retiring

I was expecting a lovely hand crafted 'leather' bag, sadly this wasn't to be. The bag is definitely not leather. It's a cheaper alternative which is a shame.
This is the sort of quality one might purchase from a market stall or similar place. Extremely disappointed with my purchase.
