I was also tricked into downloading this rogue program thinking it was a panoramic viewer. It asked for permission to access Chrome and there’s now no sign of it on the computer. I would restore my clean Mac with Time Machine but currently away without the drive. I’ve switched on enhanced Chrome security and checked the computer with Malwarebytes so only hope I’m safe until I can get my Timemachine drive. Just to update - the search settings had changed in Chrome so opening a new tab it tried to take me to an unknown site which I've now deleted - hopefully this was all that was modified.

I was looking for a manual for the Neumann TLM-127 microphone and found it online. I wanted to download the PDF file, and was prompted to download and install "docu manuals" from a website called "documanuals.com". Like a fool, I did so, as there was no other way to download the file, and, long story short, it went through the normal install process and promptly disappeared. I can find no hint of it's existence on my MacBook pro 2019. Now, I'm paranoid that I have a virus lurking somewhere. The website says the company is in Tel Aviv, Israel, but the domain name - registered just this past August - whois info says it is in Reykjavik, Iceland. The lone email address bounces. All bad news. NOW what do I do?
