Arrogant, incompetent and slow customer service

I have been a happy DNB customer since 2012, which I used for personal and company affairs. I have also almost never used their customer services. I have never had a delayed payment or any other issue with DNB or any other bank.

When requesting for a finansieringsbevis recently (for a loan to a new house), the person handling the case denied us the loan with a grin as if our request was completely absurd.
She failed to look at our complete financial situation, she simply multiplied our salaries x 5, said “No” and almost laughed at us like we cannot multiply. Our wealth is accumulated in our companies (accounts in DNB), they promised 2-3 days and took them 1 month (when I asked for status) to verify one company only, i.e. only part of the job was done.
This is incompetence at its best, but worst of all complete lack of respect for their customers.

Competitors took less than 1 week without access to our accounts.

Investment in DNB is sold, process to move to other banks is initiated.

My advice, stay far away from DNB.

unbelievably poor!

Bank services are unbelievably poor especially if you are an international customer. They don’t provide assistance and simply tell you that “you can do it online”. When you call customer service on 04800 no one speaks good English even if you press option 9 for English. Staff are terribly rude and borderline racist/discriminatory. Not impressed at all. DnB should not offer English services if they and their staff are not willing to follow through!!

Unsuitable and very expensive

This bank has outrageous charges and fees and they have no good reasons for it. Customer service is often slow, disrespectful, and won't always reply with a good answer. Their interface is messy and difficult to use. It's slow and outdated. The management is incompetent and only seems to care about profit over people. Their credit cards are a joke with their unreasonable sky high interests. Not recommended.

The worst customer service

I normally don't give feedbacks, but Dnb is awful. I would of gave 0 stars if possible. I've never met a company that treats their customers this way, with total lack of respect and the most awful attitude. And All that for us to be able to use our own money.

DNB's Website Information is Unreliable

DNB had two outdated addresses on their webpage for my business. One listing had my home address. I called to resolve the matter and find out how my home address was listed as my business address. In my business, this puts myself and my family at risk considering the population I serve. I was told that there is no way to confirm where the information came from because the information is obtained from multiple resources. I asked about the reliability of the resources and was told they cannot confirm the information obtained from the resources. I was given a link to "edit" the information. I was required to created an account with updated business information. From this point, there was still not a way to correct my incorrect listings. This company is posting unreliable information. Now, I am having to waste precious time to figure this out. Time = money. Time figuring this out is losing me money. DNB is not the credible institution that I thought it was.

Shady company.

Worst experience ever. Somehow all my payments are late (they were not), they charge service fee's every month just so you are able to pay, and sneak in hidden payments of "låneskyddsförsäkring" that I never asked for.

Avoid this company. I hope the relevant authorities take a good look at the company and make sure they comply with consumer protection.

"Excellent" customer support

Tried to open foreign currency account. On a call I was told that the interest rate can never be negative on such an account.
Some time later I received papers from DNB according to which it seemed that I will always have negative interest rate.
All right. Trying to reach them via customer service. The first two calls they just hung up after my greeting back.
Then I spent about 3 hours in a call most waiting for someone to answer. I was redirected to different departments 5 times. On the last attempt they started to send me back to the departments I have already talked.
As result I wasted 3 hours and did not get an answer for a single simple question.

Very bad service from their call…

Very bad service from their call center. They better to close it and announce for No service. Their customer service agents are very arrogant and unhappy to receive calls. It is the bank of " No service". I don't know why the management does not care about the bad review given to this Bank. Do something and fix the broken service, train your agents to handle with smile and go extramile to fix customers' issues.

Tried their "customer service" today

Tried their "customer service" today, and it is horrendous.
You can't chat with them, only a horrible robot that does not want to help. You can't call them, only a terrible robot that does not want to help. Actually had the robot hang up on me.

How the F*** do you expect anyone to get into contact with you, or is that the overall plan? Make the experience so horrible and appaling that people avoid contacting you. Get your s*** together, this is so below standard I'm genuinely shocked. Not only will I never ever use any of their services again, I will actively not-recomend it to anyone willing to listen.

Do Not borrow from DNB!!!

I got car loan from DNB & the interest rate is very very high.
I wish there was less than one star to give these buggers.
Very high interest rate.
Bad customer care.
You can not use the car to travel to another country without written approval.
When you call customer care no-one will answer before 20 minutes & they use very annoying songs during the waiting time to make you hang up.
You have (14 days/without charges) to accept the loan but if you not accept their loan / they force you to pay the starting loan charges (100€) plus if you want to pay the loan today they force you to pay the total amount plus interest of 2-3 working day @ (0,70€/day)
Very bad bank, I got better cash loan from another bank.

I paid for the $299 DNB service package…

I paid for the $299 DNB service package so I can have my DNB number created promptly. Salesperson, Jacqueline Garcia kept calling/emailing me attempting to upsell, even thoguh I told her no more than once. Her messages became more and more aggressive. I will never work with this company again.

Utter rubbish

Utter rubbish, couldn't organise a party in a brewery. 4 weeks ago I applied for an account, submitted all the documents they asked for including passport and personal number, proof of address etc etc. They LOST all the information and then asked me to resubmit.
Were it not for the fact that my employer uses this company I wouldn't have approached them at all. If there was the option for less than a star they wouldn't even get that. GO TO A REAL BANK.

Avoid at any cost

Avoid at any cost. Definitely the worst bank I have ever dealt with. For them is completely normal that your balance jumps up or down for a couple of thousands because of the technical mistake every once in a while. Not mentioning VISA cards they are providing. Changed 3 in less than 6 months. And of course, not to mention the situation when my card stopped working - and instead of taking some cash from the actual bank until my new card arrives, with the proof of my card and ID - they told me they cannot help me and send me to post office with passport, what kind of policy is that? A bank? A joke. Really, you can close that place at Karl Johans Gate cause it's useless. Only workers of the month there are ATM's.

Avoid this bank, ripping-off customers.

AVOID this bank if you do not want to deal with lindorff debt collecting letters afterwards. And I do not speak about overdrafts or credits, no, not at all. I am speaking just about an inactive account. As I left Norway 3 years ago I was not using my account, as I was not using an internet bank for some months, they blocked online access to it, so I was not able to check the situation in my account. DNB never tried to contact me (they had all my contact details), and it is not possible to contact them via e-mail or via online chat. So, I came back to Norway in 2019, tried to un-block my internet bank via phone, customer service was not able to do it and did not say even one word about a possible minus in my account. So, finally opened an account in another bank. And then -SURPRISE, a letter from lindorff with a demand to pay a debt. I repeat one more time - never took overdrafts or credits in my life. It could theoretically be a minus for not used bank card, nothing more. When all normal banks in the situations like this try to contact their customers or just close an account, this bank is making a debt case and sending it to lindorff without even one try to contact a customer. AVOID this bank. Completely unlawful and rip-off actions. I am going to notify about this situation all in Norway living ex-pat groups and I will warn all of them to avoid this bank. I have never before experienced in my life something so disgusting, I never take credits, overdrafts and I never had any debts in my life. Instead of dealing with customers who do not pay their real debts, this bank is chasing honest people who just have not used their accounts for longer time. Account xxxx xx x7297 holder.
