  1. Divorce Service

Written by the company

What we are and what we are not: We are not solicitors. DivorceCompanion does not provide legal advice and does not draft legal documents. We are a guidance tool; nothing more, nothing less. What we do is give you a clear, honest picture of the process: the stages, the forms, the timing, and what to prepare, so that when you do speak to a professional, you are using that time well. For the consent order on an amicable case, you will still need a solicitor to draft and submit it. The Amicable Execution Plan helps you arrive at that appointment fully prepared, which typically reduces the time and cost significantly.

Didn’t realise how much I didn’t know…

My ex and I had agreed everything between us so I thought the paperwork would be the easy bit, it really wasn't. I actually logged on out of curiosity more than anything and that's when I realised divorce and the financial settlement are two completely separate processes. I had no idea. I wasn’t aware of the consent order and what happens if you don't get one sorted. I also didn't know there's a specific window to apply, after the conditional order but before the final order, and that if you miss it things get a lot more complicated. That was a bit of a wake up call honestly. The Amicable Execution Plan was the first thing that actually made sense of it all. It laid out every document I needed to gather, the steps to work through in the right order, and the mistakes people commonly make, that bit alone probably saved me from getting things sent back by the court. The D81 was the bit I'd been most nervous about but it almost did itself, you work through it, it handles the numbers, and before I knew it I was court-ready pdf. Genuinely didn't expect to feel this on top of it. Really glad I found this.

Form E made manageable

Not going to lie, I had no clue what Form E even was when my solicitor mentioned it. Started on the free Clarity plan just to get my bearings and it actually explained the whole process in plain English, wish I'd found it sooner. When I got to the Form E builder the checklist upfront was useful, got all my documents sorted before I started rather than hunting around halfway through. Each field tells you what it's asking for which saves a lot of head scratching. I could also save and come back to it which suited me as I was doing it in bits around work. Calculations are done for you which is handy. Finished with a court-ready PDF which looked properly professional. Honestly the amount I saved in solicitor time alone made it a no-brainer, but more than that it just felt good to actually understand what was going on and deal with it myself. Does what it says, no messing about.

I’ve only just started using Divorce…

I’ve only just started using Divorce Companion, but it’s already taken a huge weight off my shoulders. The Clarity Plan showed straight away that my route was amicable and explained everything in simple, plain English. The guidance so far has been really practical clear steps, what to do next, and when I actually need a solicitor. Even at this early stage, it’s saved me confusion and unnecessary costs.
I’d definitely recommend giving it a try. It’s made the beginning of a stressful process feel much more manageable.
