Many customers reported significant issues with product quality, including furniture that quickly deteriorated, had damaged parts upon arrival, or was not fit for its intended purpose. Reviewers also frequently experienced poor customer service, describing it as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to get a resolution for their problems. The delivery service was a major source of frustration, with many reporting significant delays, missed deliveries, and a lack of communication regarding delivery dates. Conversely, a small portion of people felt satisfied with the staff, praising their helpfulness, knowledge, and patience in assisting with choices. Some customers also noted that the delivery team was helpful in setting up the furniture, despite overall issues with the delivery process.

DFS are a joke of a company.

DFS are a joke of a company.
I got the Velocity sofa bed in 2021 and was told it is for perminant use, lies.
after a year i approched them to ask for help to get a new mattress as the perminant use one turned out not to be perminant and they couldnt care less, the lady in our local shop looked at me as if i had 2 heads and said they cant help me so i called them and got the same answer that they cant help me.
i spent my own money on a new one and now that needs replacing. i called again last week to ask for help and was told we cant do anything as its out of
warranty so that to me sounds like they could of helped me in 2022 but was waiting for the warranty to run out so it wont cost the company.
i wish i had read all the bad reviews as i would never had used them and this is on top of a metal component that broke that left the bed unusable and its took months before they fixed it and left me sleeping on the floor. NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL THEY GET MY HARD EARNED MONEY.

NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE

NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE - TERRIBLE QUALITY

I had a sofa and chair delivered in Feb 2024 and the fibre filled back cushions on the settee and chair are awful and not fit for purpose.

The back cushions are 3 individual strips of fibre which have completely collapsed in on themselves. Every day, I have to remove them from the covers and spend about 10 minutes for each cushion (up to ½ an hour for all 3) pulling, shaking, bashing and manipulating the fibres to 'plump' them back up. I am actually sweating after doing this, it is like a work out. The internal material holding the 3 lots of fibre together is actually ripping from doing this. Then as soon as you sit down and lean against the backs, they just collapse again and there is no support what so ever. They look absolutely awful and I end up with terrible backache. There is loads of baggy fabric as the fibre no longer fill the covers.
I was told in the shop when I bought the sofa that they would need ‘plumping’ each day and I accepted this as I have had settees before from DFS which I had to plump each day. But this is terrible quality fibre and a terrible design.
I called DFS and some guy come around today to have a look. He started off very pleasant. Took one of the backs out of its cover and bashed it about. He admitted it was bad design but it is the nature of having a fibre back – they are not very good. I asked what I could do and he said take it to an external company and pay to have foam put in the back!!!! Why should I have to pay to do this?
I asked if I could have the backs changed or replaced - he said no as this would make it a bespoke settee and chair and they don’t do bespoke!!!!
I explained it is so uncomfortable - he said comfort is subjective!!! I asked him to sit on the settee to see if he thought it was comfy, he refused.
I asked if I could take this further and he said I could email in a complaint, but DFS would only go by what he puts in his report, so basically a waste of time.
I asked him what was the point of him coming out today, as all he has done is admit it's a bad design and foam is better and advised me to pay someone to replace, and I will just have to live with it. He just shrugged his shoulders at me to this question.
At this point I told him to leave as there was no point in him being in my home any longer talking to me as in a very condescending manner and as though I was stupid.
So, even though he told me it was pointless complaining, I have emailed a complaint today to DFS. This furniture is not fit for purpose and I want something done about it. The shop told me they would just need plumbing each day - not bashing for half an hour. The settee and chair have been mis-sold to me. I want the backs replaced otherwise I will go to trading standards as these are not fit for purpose.

Think before you buy

Sofa we just spent £2000 on arrived today with pulls on the cushions after speaking to customer services and store staff they told us they would be repairing the cushions and the cushions would not be replaced their policy is to repair not replace it’s left us disappointed, let down and feeling we weren’t getting what we paid for we will now have to take another day off for a service engineer to fix it.

With the experience received when you have a problem wouldn’t buy anything from DFS again poor experience when you have a problem don’t give a shit once they have your money

Unbelievably quick to deny I had even spoke to them.

I just wrote an awful review for dfs and Holly M quickly responded. I was not sure the first time I had phoned,2020, just before lock down, thank you. I recently phoned on the 14th August at 3.30 about the 15 yr guarantee. The lady made an appointment for a technician from Emmiera group to come and take a look at my sofa to assess it. He said all the reassuring words, agreeing with me on different points, then left saying he would submit a report to dfs. A few hours later I received an email to say that putting my sofa back to how it was previously would cost me £335. I dont understand Holly why you have no record of this.

This company owes out a hell of a lot…

This company owes out a hell of a lot of money to it's customers. the actual way they treat customers is a joke but the workmanship is totally disgustingly bad for such a big company. I.e .bought my corner sofa cash upfront they were offering a deal from £2500 to £1250 black Friday. anyway got my nice looking sofa that night moving around on it thought what's that bloody sound creeping all over the place 🤔 made some adjustments still making noise. so got in contact with dfs and they sent somebody to look at it.i wanted it replaced but was told it would sort itself out as its new.they said to give 6 to 8 weeks .course after 8 weeks you can't send it back and the sofa is just terrible now what a waste of money that I don't really have. When I see adverts on tv about dfs my blood boils

Poor Quality - avoid

We complained about quality of our sofas which had badly fitted covering not helped by poor foam filling. I had taken photographs on the day of delivery and at frequent times since. After several visits from various DFS staff we were advised that we should have perhaps shopped at HSL which was an ageist comment. Then advised that we could arrange to have the foam padding replaced, at our expense and not by them, or they we could chose alternative furniture from DFS after a payment of £800. This was 6 month old furniture!. DFS are knowingly selling substandard furniture and should be avoided at all cost.

Have had a awful experience with DFS

Have had a awful experience with DFS. Sofa arrived 28th June. Complaint was made 2 weeks later due to it going really soft & lost it's support, was told to wait another 2 weeks for it to settle.follow up Complaints were made a few days later as it was getting worse with one end totally uneven.it felt completely different to the one in store. Had this inspection on 28th July. He agreed it looked like it needed more padding, and confirmed it when he sat on it, even noticed it tilted to one side when I sat down. He offered to put more padding in but informed us we wouldn't get the lumber support as it was a recliner. I had already requested a refund or exchange to a different brand and told him this. His tone changed becoming patronising and rude, even sniggered at my disabilities. I reminded him of what he agreed about the sofa, and I didn't appreciate my disabilities being laughed at. He then accused us of putting words in his mouth about the sofa said he was out of here and walked out !!!. Dump struck and was left in tears over his rudeness.
I received email yesterday saying there was no fault. !!
So I'm £1k out of pocket and a sofa that us and others find too uncomfortable. I'm disabled and in poor health, all I wanted was a sofa that's firm, supportive and even.i brought the resilience range (Ryder) so if you're looking for a sofa with quality, support and firmness then avoid at all cost. The service you get when the product is faulty is disgusting.

Really bad customer services with problems

Sounds like I am not the only one having concerns. We spent a lot of money on a cinesound settee, and our expectations were high based on sales pitch.
After an extremely long wait, it came with damaged parts. Then we had problem after problem, noises from unstuck labels, squeezing on lift, recliner buttons not working properly, mismatch on colour on seat, creases on cloth etc etc. Aftr a wait of a further 7 or 8 weeks for a replacement headrest, and then to get the other problems fixed, a new motor etc, the problems were not all fully resolved and creaks started to appear. I was told I could not get a replacement as they assumed I would not be happy with the quality, and I was offered to give it back and buy something else from them. That is refused. I have since chased them to be told that I have to take more days off as there Engineers don’t work after 4pm weekdays and don’t work weekends. I have no holidays left.
My wife doesn’t want to wait 8 weeks for another settee to be built so we are stuck with it. I have also had to inform them that as I cannot get home before 4pm I now have to put up with the concerns. However the manager did say that I should put up with creaks as that is normal…… sorry with a brand new piece of furniture. Guess they aren’t going to advertise that when selling. Misinformation from sales person, offered a reduction to keep me happy but information about how it works was wrong and didn’t match the agreement. I don’t trust this companies quality, morals or ethics and certainly know they have no interest in customer service, just trying to get you to agree what they want, to ,are the, feel they have done their job. Not a company to spend your hard earned cash on, and the products are overpriced anyway. Only bought it for what it is and linking to tv but not worth what we paid. Go elsewhere for a better experience.

Absolutely rubbish product and customer care

I am sorry I had to give one star in order to write a review. This company does not deserve one star.
I bought a 'Kian' sofa bed in Carrickmines, Dublin, and less than a year later, after minimal use, within the two-year guarantee, it collapses onto the floor if you lie on it.
A service man came in June and went off to write a report. A month later I have heard nothing back. So I emailed again and received an unintelligible message to the effect that a service man had called and they were unsure what more I wanted.
On another phone call an agent said they had been told the fault was not a manufacturing fault, but they did not have the service agent's report.
So they will track down the report and hopefully tell me what is in it.
So my question is this; If you can not lie of the sofabed, even occasionally, is it fit for purpose. It does look like very lightweight fabrication.
I will not be shopping there ever again. Neither will anyone in my family or anyone I know. I just wish I had read the Trustpilot reviews before i bought the sofabed.

Poor Quality Product

We ordered a 3 piece suite in the summer of 2024 (delivered October 2024). Within 6 months the material started to peel on one of the seats, then the recliner motor went, then another seat started to peel, then the same motor that was replaced failed again and now another seats material is starting to separate from the canvas underneath (what happens before it starts to peel). DFS "engineers" (they admit they know nothing about upholstery) blame the peeling on the dogs (yet no proof of damage on, around or under the peeling area), the insurance company said its a manufacturing fault and an independent furniture inspector assessed this morning so we can take it further. We have had to raise a section 75 through our finance company as DFS have passed our complaint to the store we purchased from but not heard anything since. We will be taking them all the way to court if necessary.

This is the worst company EVER

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. If you have the slightest issue, you are on your own. They will never help you or fix the issue. My sofa arrived missing a leg, it has been over 6 months and they have not came to add the missing leg, the keep extending and changing the date to fix it. Hands down the worst place ever! Save yourself the hassle and buy your furniture somewhere else.

Abysmal and shocking customer service

Abysmal and shocking customer service, literally the company have no interest in aftersales care or respect for their customers.
I bought a sofa 2 years ago im moving home so I need help dismantling the sofa (which is part of their current line of sofas).
I have had numerous phone conversations asking for support to no avail, sent several email with people reluctant to help, after a month I was told a service advisor would eventually come to my property and show me how to dismantle the sofa. A day was arranged a week in advance (I work in a school so time off during the day is never easy). A day before the service manager was meant to attend i was not given an update of my 3 hour window. Another phone call to DFS 30mins on the phone only to be told the service manager would call me on the day with a 3 hour window.
On the day nothing then I received a message to say the visit had been cancelled.
I had the service managers number who I called he stated he was ill all week, knowing that why didnt DFS replace him, why didn't they inform me a few day prior that one of the service managers was ill? why did they wait until the day to cancel my appointment knowing full well the service manager would not be able to attend.
So many questions unanswered and disgusted by their deplorable attitude. I asked the store manager Shahid Choudhery (New Malden) for a senior managers email address as i wanted to lodge a formal complaint. He refused to give it to me, instead I was given a rearranged date to two weeks, even though the week prior to me booking I was told I could have any day during the week.
I wrote him another email outlining the appualing ongoing treatment I had received and I wanted an email address for a senior manager, once again he failed to respond, when I called customer service they told me i had to go through the store manager. when I question the customer service rep if the store manager himself was not being very helpful and part of my issue was against him then why would I continually need to go through him.
They could not answer my question.
DFS is one of the WORST companies I have ever dealt with, they DO NOT care about customers especially regarding after care. They have NO respect for customer feels like if you of a certain ethnicity you are treated differently eg not a priority.
They have no ethics and only think about their profits forgetting their business is customer based.

Never ever buy a dfs sofa

Never ever buy a dfs sofa. I wish I had read the reviews and if it was possible to leave no stars I would. My son took out the dfs insurance and in November 2024 we reported an issue. In June 2025 we are still waiting for the sofa to be repaired. Excused range from " you refused the appointment given to you, the issue wasn't reported, we couldn't find the house, and the right materials were not sent to the person repairing the sofa. They don't care they already have your money. The staff on customer services are rude and uncaring. Please spend your.money else where
