Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Very poor quality and service. Lots of problems.

This company proved a disaster from start to finish.
1. Our problems started with the first item delivered, a tall oven unit. No “fixings” were supplied so we couldn’t even begin to assemble it. Fixing bits were supplied so we unpacked the unit.
2. The oven cabinet unit had one side warped and damaged apparently by a “planer” used in its manufacture. Warped/damaged side returned and replaced so assembly begins!
3. Then we find that wrong sized shelves had been sent – assembly stops again –sent for correct sized shelves but wrong sizes sent for a second time. We had become so exasperated by this time that the unit had to be returned to be assembled by them, this seemed the only way to ensure the correct items would be fitted.
Alarm bells were now starting to ring and with hindsight I should have cancelled the order and I wish I had done so – READ ON!
4. The tall larder unit door was badly out of alignment. I called to ask for advice on how tto fix it. The “Technical” department (that’s a laugh) gave entirely wrong advice for correction which would have damaged both our kitchen wall and the unit if I’d been stupid enough to follow it. Their advice included releasing the unit from the wall and TILTING the unit (deliberately reattaching it to the wall at a backwards angle). In fact, only a simple adjustment using specific adjustment screw was needed.
5. THREE pre-assembled corner units were a long way out of adjustment and had to be returned to be remanufactured. We kept the fourth one and hung it only to find that it, too, was out of alignment. Our fitter had to hang the door on the opposite side to get it within tolerance (just).
6. Drawer inserts supplied were the wrong colour (grey instead of white).
7. Two cabinet doors were not the same colour “white” as the rest so we are left to re-paint them.
8. Three drawers of a drawer unit were taped closed with carpet tape which stripped paint from the drawers when tape was removed so we will have to re-paint them.
9. Screws supplied with the fixing brackets for hanging wall cabinets had heads too small so that they fitted THROUGH the bracket holes. These screws were THE WRONG SIZE and useless. Using them would have resulted in the cabinets falling off the wall.
10. The Lift Up hinges supplied were not strong enough to lift the cabinet door – I had to buy correct replacements locally to avoid even more delays.
11. Worktops supplied (iroko and not cheap) were the same wood but different patterns (staves). They were wrapped and we gave them to our carpenter to fit. He cut one piece before we noticed. I complained but the company “management” were quick to quote their terms and conditions and refused to do anything to rectify yet another of their mistakes. We had to source a replacement.
12. The management’s “use” of terms and conditions has been interesting. In their final analysis of our catalogue of their mistakes, omissions and diabolical quality control, they give themselves a PAT ON THE BACK! They are more than satisfied with the whole thing! They quote their only obligation as being to deal with any problem WITHIN THIRTY DAYS! (they do this with many unfavourable reviews), and say that they have met “legal requirements”. This company needs to concentrate on avoiding quality control problems and dispatch errors (sending the wrong stuff!).
Needless to say that hell will freeze before I dream of using his company again.
They claimed to Trustpilot that they had no record of me as a customer. I have had the pleasure of providing documentary evidence to Trustpilot. I called the company today and they looked up my records within seconds! I can't IMAGINE why they denied any record of me to Trustpilot, CAN YOU??

Dear Mr Roberts,

Thank you for your review.

Each report made was responded to and solved as quickly as possible. It is rare that we experience this multitude of problems with any order. For that we sincerely apologise.

We implemented this year a pre-assembled service as standard to eliminate many of the issues you unfortunately experienced. However particularly with hinges, there is only a limited amount of adjusting we can do, the final adjustments are to be made on site once the units have been installed and aligned with walls, floors and other units.

We have also justified the purpose of the screws for the wall cabinets and a full refund has been submitted for the incorrect lift up hinges.

Where you describe the issue with the paintwork on the doors and drawers due to tape and the incorrect despatch of different coloured doors, we were not given the opportunity to resolve as you suggested to touch up with paint yourself, however you selected one of our Signature Range colours therefore replacements could have been offered immediately as these Signature colours are held in stock.

We pride ourselves on offering a fantastic customer service, as such we are committed to providing a good level of aftercare support, resolving in good faith each report within an efficient and reasonable time frame, which the team in the office worked closely and tirelessly on your case to bring the matters to a close. I would like to thank you for your time and cooperation to help rectify these issues.

There has been some confusion between the several reviews recently posted from you, as no reference number was originally left and the order is not placed under your full name provided with the review, we had no information to locate you as a customer on our system.

I believe that everything has now been delivered correctly and without issue, we wish you joy and comfort in your new kitchen.

Best Regards,
Jade Elliott – Cabinet Manager
