I ordered some Designers guild velluto velvet which was listed as in stock on the website back in Nov. After I had paid for it I was informed that actually it wasn't going to be available until Feb. I am an upholsterer and so this seriously effects my schedule. The worst thing is that when the fabric arrived it is significantly worse in quality that it use to be. It's fine for fixed upholstery but TERRIBLE for sewing with. To make a box cushion with a fine finish is seriously difficult. When you cut it the edge curls when you overlock it the edge stretches and there is SO much movement when you try to sew panels together. I would say there are some SERIOUS issues with this fabric in terms of usability.
Dreadful experience with Designers Guild in 2025. I ordered the LOWESWATER VIRIDIAN ORGANIC COTTON BED LINEN SET on 6th March 2025, after a lot of chasing by me, finally received for my son’s bedroom on 17th September, by which time he was at boarding school! DG did give me a 20% discount back and paid for the delivery, which was appreciated, through gritted teeth as all I wanted was the duvet sets. I must say working for DG must be so disheartening having customers constantly chasing them and getting so angry. If you communicated with the customers better, they might be more understanding and you might not lose money in the process. I’m honestly never going to order with DG again, it was so stressful.

I would thoroughly recommend this company because of their customer service. Jacqui Drysdale went above and beyond to address and resolve a query I had and I cannot fault their support. I just wish every company provided such brilliant service. In addition, the Ikebana damask side plates are beautiful and will be treasured in our house. Thank you.

I had curtains made by an interior design store using material I selected from Designers Guild. When they had been hanging for some time I noticed a fault in the material. There was an area 1 by 2 inches where the weft was missing but the warp was intact. I complained to the shop I bought them from and they went back to Designers Guild. They were not interested because of the time. They said the material had been quality checked. The problem could not have happened in any way other than manufacture. The material was expensive and I did not expect it to be of poor quality. I will never get their material again and would advise others to avoid them as well.
In response to your reply. The issue has been taken up with you at least twice. The first time your response was slubbs and imperfections were to be expected. I would suggest the imperfection was in your quality control as I consider an area that is not woven is not acceptable quality.
The second more recent response was that you weren't interested after the lapse of time. The fabric having been printed and made into curtains.
If I could add a photo I would and people could judge for themselves the quality of the product and the level of customer service.

I was helped by Sophia this morning at the Kings Road branch. I had been trying to track down a sample pot of Cobalt 50 to use as a finish on a picture frame my company is producing and she went above and beyond by searching in store for a pot which was currently showing out of stock on their system. Low and behold she found one for me and has posted it free of charge to me here in Cambridgeshire, saving me a 5 hour return journey to collect! I often use Designers Guild paints for frame finishes as no other brand can match the 'pop' you get with their colours! It has really made my day and potentially 'saved a sale' for my business due to her help and perseverance in hunting down the sample pot for me!

Sheets, pillow covers and duvet cover are all excellent. Soft cotton, deep fitted sheets and they wash well.

I purchased some waffle towels as I loved the colours DG had. Unfortunatley the quality is awful. After multiple washes they continue to leave fluff everytwere. Ive never had this with a towel. It covers the floor and also leaves me with fluff allower me after drying.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS -
This company is an absolute disgrace. They issued me a credit note 5 weeks ago for a rug that was the most awful quality. Despite me chasing over a dozen times, I am still to receive the refund. I will never, ever use them again. You speak to someone different every single time and no-one is accountable.
Bought a made to order headboard, which online looked lovely, however the colour is nothing like the colour shown on the website. When I complained the company said that the colours can vary on different screens… I have since looked at what I thought the colour was on various screens and the colour shows as what I had chosen. Poor show! To top that off the headboard is covered on dirty marks and a large pull in the fabric where one’s head would rest. In a nutshell it’s horrible, and can not be returned. I was offered a cleaning company to visit and clean it, but didn’t bother taking this up. It’s a shame as I’m just builing a 10,000. sqft house and would have been a great customer for them. Your loss!
Capisoli Teal Standard Rug Quantity: 1 RUGDG0403
The rug is so beautiful...... but only any good for a show home. The description didn't include the material which should have been a red flag. It is polyester and for over £1000 is not fit for purpose. After only 6 months the fibres are stuck together in clumps of rug - where my feet rest.... I cant hold them off the floor while u relax. All in all a dreadfully expensive mistake!!!
Firstly i went into the Marylebone shop where a totally disinterested sales girl showed me a book of wallpapers which she said had the one i was looking for. She then walked off to chat with the other sales staff ignoring me completely The book she gave me was the wrong book and i managed to find the correct one. I then asked to order a sample which i never received. I then tried to order this Lacroix panel through various sources to be told i needed to pay up front and wait for stock to eventually arrive. In January i ordered and paid for this panel and was quoted 7/3 as delivery date. I have now been told due to a delay from suppliers this date has been put back to 10/4 bearing in mind Designers Guild have had my money since January - 4 months! I seriously doubt the order was ever placed. Honestly i would give this Company no stars whatsoever and it almost feels as if I have been scammed. Seriously Designers Guild you need to get a grip

My order has never arrived after waiting 5 weeks.
I’ve asked them to cancel it and they haven’t replied so I will have to cancel the payment via the credit card

Wasted 2 hours on the 26/10/2024 found some stunning fabrics, requested all our samples they said they would send them the following week-3 weeks later nothing, called up and all my mother got was ‘bare with’ on the phone and apparently no record of samples ordered. Complete waste of our time and lost opportunity for them to of made a good sale. Not to mention SHOCKING customer service, felt like my mother and I were intruding on their conversations, what an absolute waste of time. Would highly recommend employing people who take pride and care in your store.

Terrible quality.. we bought four couch pillows some time ago. Very very expensive, they were on sale but still too expensive.. after only a few months two of the pillows fabric just started to desintegrate.. very poor quality. Actually these pillows were also lying on a couch where nobody was sitting on most of the time. No abuse, not years of tear and wear, just poor quality. Dont understand really the two other pillows are still looking quite ok.

I am a long term, regular customer, and I love the Astor bed linen. It’s fresh and crisp, and yet provides a fabulous snuggle factor for a restful and blissful sleep. Recently I accidentally bought the wrong colour and didn’t realise in time to exchange within 30 days. Customer service team was extremely helpful and all the correct colours are now in place. Thank you Designers Guild team

I bought Madrid fabric to reupholster dining chair seats. It was advertised as suitable for upholstery. After sitting on the seat, the first day after re-covering the seats they appeared patchy and shabby. Over the next few days they gradually became more patchy. I phoned Designers Guild and was advised that this was due to the pile being flattened and that I could rectify this by brushing. I did this and it did not improve the appearance of the seats. They looked more shabby than before we re-covered the seats. I phoned several times before I finally had a call from the manager. The issue has not been resolved, so I am now out of pocket and need to buy new fabric.

Absolutely appalling experience in the Kings Road store today at about 2.45. Despite store being pretty empty - I was ignored by every member of staff who appeared more fixated on chatting to each other than service or assisting customers. The lady on the lower ground floor stood tapping away at her desktop screen, saw me and just looked away. I expect a better class of service from this company. Worlds away from my experience in the Marylebone store last Saturday where the team could not have been more welcome and helpful. The Kings Road staff could learn a lesson in creating a positive customer experience from the Marylebone team.
