Bad Customer Support

After searching for this designer lamp for a long time, I am incredibly disappointed with both the product and the service. The lamp had a serial defect that ultimately led to the piece being destroyed. I reached out to customer support, but the entire process took 3.5 months due to their complete lack of responsiveness. After finally undergoing a technical assessment, the conclusion was a dismissive 'you caused it,' which is frankly embarrassing. For the premium prices this platform charges, the support is unacceptably slow and indifferent. I would not recommend shopping here.

UPDATE:
No compensation was provided, and the case was closed without my consent. I have serious concerns about how this was handled.

Be careful, paid 69€ return fee because I didn’t provide a phone number

Be careful and make sure you provide a phone number. I ordered a bed frame, two days later I receive an email saying that I need to provide a phone number to the delivery company. The next day they send me an email saying I have until 4pm to provide a phone number. I see this email only after finishing work (sorry I’m not glued to my phone all the time) and replied with my contact details. But it was too late, they already sent the bed back. There was never any mention of a return fee in the earlier communication, it only came up after they had already deducted it from my refund. In the end, I was charged €69 for a bed I never even saw.

If it’s so important to have a phone number then why not make it mandatory during the purchasing process?

I would still like the bed but it sucks to place another order after already paying 69€ for sweet fa

Poor/inexistent communication

I wouldn't order again as it is very difficult to get a response. My order arrived in two boxes, both items were damaged and it took them over a week to reply. They've now confirmed that I can receive replacements but again communication is non existent. Also I've ordered from the German website and their system sent status emails in Flemish... I don't speak that language

Incompatible Bed Frame and Mattress

UPDATE:
Thank you for your reply — but I need to clarify a few things honestly:

I received an official email from your customer service clearly stating that no refund or replacement slats will be provided. The only “solution” I was offered was to pay out of pocket for a new set of slats to fix the issue myself. That was presented as your final answer. So please don’t pretend here that my case is still being handled with priority.

You also stated that it was my choice to purchase this bed and that the slatted base is visible online. But again, I must emphasize: there was no way to know from pictures alone that the mattress would sink between the slats, cause back pain, and lead to such poor sleep — especially when both items were promoted as compatible. No photo or product description replaces the actual experience of using the bed.

You say the products were delivered as described — but this isn’t just about appearance. It’s about whether they function together. And in this case, they clearly don’t. As a seller, even if you don’t manufacture the items, you are responsible for ensuring compatibility and customer well-being when offering product bundles. Selling items that lead to physical pain is unacceptable.

This public reply contradicts the private response I received — where you refused to offer any real solution. It’s disappointing to see two different versions of communication: one for the customer, and another for public image.

Vielen Dank für Ihre Antwort – aber ich muss die Situation ehrlich klarstellen:

Ich habe eine offizielle E-Mail von Ihrem Kundenservice erhalten, in der eindeutig steht, dass weder eine Rückerstattung noch ein Austausch der Lattenroste angeboten wird. Die einzige „Lösung“, die man mir angeboten hat, war, auf eigene Kosten ein neues Lattenrost-Set zu kaufen, um das Problem selbst zu beheben. Das wurde als Ihre endgültige Antwort dargestellt. Bitte tun Sie also hier nicht so, als ob mein Fall weiterhin mit Priorität bearbeitet wird.

Sie haben außerdem geschrieben, es sei meine Entscheidung gewesen, dieses Bett zu kaufen und die Lattenroste seien auf der Website sichtbar gewesen. Aber nochmals: Anhand von Bildern allein konnte ich nicht wissen, dass die Matratze zwischen den Latten einsinken, Rückenschmerzen verursachen und meinen Schlaf stark beeinträchtigen würde – besonders, wenn beide Produkte als kompatibel empfohlen wurden. Kein Foto und keine Produktbeschreibung ersetzen die tatsächliche Nutzungserfahrung.

Sie schreiben, die Produkte seien wie beschrieben geliefert worden – aber hier geht es nicht nur um das Aussehen, sondern darum, ob sie funktional zusammenpassen. Und das tun sie in diesem Fall ganz klar nicht. Als Verkäufer tragen Sie – auch wenn Sie die Produkte nicht selbst herstellen – die Verantwortung dafür, dass angebotene Produktkombinationen funktional und gesundheitlich unbedenklich sind. Wenn Sie ein Bett und eine Matratze gemeinsam anbieten, muss die Kompatibilität stimmen. Produkte zu verkaufen, die physische Beschwerden verursachen, ist nicht akzeptabel.

Diese öffentliche Antwort widerspricht Ihrer privaten E-Mail, in der mir keinerlei echte Lösung angeboten wurde. Es ist enttäuschend zu sehen, dass es zwei verschiedene Versionen der Kommunikation gibt – eine für die Kund:innen und eine für das öffentliche Image.

The bed frame slats and the mattress are not compatible. The slats lack proper support – unlike Japanese tatami-style flat bases – and the mattress sinks deeply between the wide gaps, causing severe back pain and body misalignment. You can feel the wood and the gaps when lying down. I’ve been trying to resolve the issue with customer service for months, without success.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Lattenrost und Matratze sind nicht kompatibel. Die Latten bieten keine ausreichende Unterstützung – im Gegensatz zu den flachen, durchgehenden Tatami-Basen in Japan – und die Matratze sinkt tief zwischen die großen Abstände. Das führt zu starken Rückenschmerzen und einer völlig ungesunden Körperhaltung. Man spürt die Latten und die Lücken deutlich beim Liegen. Ich versuche seit Monaten, das Problem mit dem Kundenservice zu klären – ohne Erfolg.

Radio Silence

If I could, I would give this company a -5 rating. After promptly processing my order and taking my money, over a week ago, I am still to hear about delivery arrangement for items they had in stock. I have emailed several times, called (no answer) and tried contacting them through social media to no avail. I will be now raising this issue with my bank as a potential fraudulent transaction.

Missing Items, No Update, No Support

Update:
Your previous message was completely unhelpful and avoided answering the one simple question I’ve been asking: When will my order be shipped? It has now been over two weeks since I placed the order, and I have received no real updates whatsoever. This is absolutely unacceptable.

If you are not going to ship the order immediately, I demand that you cancel it and issue a full refund without further delay. I expect a clear and final answer, not another generic apology.

I'm extremely frustrated with how poorly my order has been handled.

Over a week ago, I placed an order for 8 system furniture items — including frames, shelves, a desk top, and a cabinet — all of which were listed as in stock, with an estimated delivery time of 3–5 days.

It’s now been 9 days, and I’ve only received 3 of the 8 items, each arriving in separate packages. There’s been no tracking information, no updates, no prior notice about partial shipments or delays — and worst of all, no response from customer service despite my follow-up.

At this point, I have no idea where the rest of my order is or whether it’s even going to be shipped. This lack of communication and delay is completely unacceptable, especially from a store that positions itself as premium.

I expect the remaining items to be shipped immediately, along with full tracking information. Please respond as soon as possible.

ZERO SUPPORT

We’ve been trying to request an exchange via email, but there has been zero follow-up from the team. We’ve also called 10 times, and no one ever answers.

This is completely unacceptable—especially when dealing with high-end products.

At the very least, a 24-hour response time should be standard. This kind of service damages your brand and will undoubtedly hurt future sales.

one of the poorest experience

one of the poorest experience with online seller.
I ordered a carpet in february that was supposed to be delivered in 3 weeks.
1 week after the order is made and paid, then 3 weeks become 11 weeks.
now it requires an additional 5 weeks before delivery.
when I asked them to make something for this delay, they proposed a voucher that represents 1,6% of the value.
Last update june 10th and guess what…. nothing happened, no delivery of the item. Despite an email from customer service more than one month ago.
Of course no update no email no apologies as of today

No order fulfilment within almost 6 months

I ordered a mirror back in November 2022 (already paid the mirror) with a delivery date beginning of January 2023. The delivery keeps getting pushed back and now I am supposed to get the mirror by May 2023 (which I highly doubt). I will never order anything from Design Bestseller again and I do not think that I will ever receive the ordered goods. This is such an unreliable service. Furhtermore, I doubt that the orginal supplier cannot deliver goods to Design Bestseller within almost half a year. Such a disappointment.
