Okay so you're thinking of booking this…

Okay so you're thinking of booking this place? Just don't.
Let's start with the booking process. This all went well. It's one of the cheaper hotels and right by the airport? Perfect.
Now you are back from your vacation or trip and have a flight back to Stanstead at midnight. The website has a section saying that there's a 24 hour airport shuttle. On the parking bays, there's no place for a shuttle as is with Novotel or Premier Inn which have a free shuttle service to the hotel that's actually 24 hours. So you call them up and they say that they don't actually do it for the full 24 hours and state that it's listed in the text multiple paragraphs deep. So you call an Uber that's relatively more expensive to that place with an average price of ~35 quid.

Assuming all goes well, you are taken to the hotel and it's not their fault but the mobile data signal is absolutely horrendous. Fair enough. They have multiple WiFi APs so you try connecting to 4/5 of theirs and ALL OF THEM DO NOT WORK. There's one more that is sneaky and doesn't seem registered to the hotel but works (found out by checking which networks the TVs connect to). So you're left having paid an extra 35 and with no internet connectivity.

Coming into the room, the bathroom had a distinctly bad smell that I could only get rid off by running the tap for 30 minutes.

On the next morning, the shuttle service works. Yay right? No. You'll have to add another 15 for that.

You get a shittier experience for A LOT MORE than you would have on Premier Inn or Novotel if you're on a budget.

Long story short, do not book this place for whatever/whichever reason. I'd rather have spent the night in Stanstead

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

Do not book! You'd be better off sleeping on the floor at the airport.
I'm not even sure what I've walked into!
Bates motel meets Addams family. Really creepy!
Walked into a dark reception area, staff member eventually appeared but wasn't aware we had booked. Room wasn't even ready at 3pm. Building materials lying about everywhere. No parking available, had to put car onto the grass at front. Worryingly there is a car to the rear of the car park with smashed windows!
Nothing like the website or online booking services describe. Totally misleading.
Rooms are awful, grubby and not clean at all. Floors are covered in dirt. Bathroom just gross.
Random Tissues, cotton pads and plasters left laying on the floor. Really disgusting.
Very shabby and seems that it is being used by housing association for long term shelter. Kids kicking stones at the bedroom windows, shouting and screaming in the hallway and sounded like a party going on upstairs.
You can't class this as a hotel. Avoid at all costs.

Crossroads motel or Adams Family!

A cross between Crossroads motel and the Adams Family. Dreadful. Weird. So, so noisy. Moved the twin beds apart to put the bedside cupboard between the beds and it was filthy with used cotton pads and dirty plasters under. Not worth the money. Would not recommend this place.

Holiday Extras and DeSalis deliberately mislead about shuttle bus cost etc…

There is misinformation on their website (and others relating to Stansted Airport) about the existence, frequency and cost of shuttle buses. They charge a staggering £18 for a 5-10 m journey (not the £4.50 they claim) which doesn’t even take you all the way to the airport. (so that they don’t incur any costs) Although given ample evidence Holiday Extras, who I booked with, fail to acknowledge fault. They left me stranded at Stansted when I arrived despite claims of pick up from airport so I had to wait and pay for £30 taxi. Small Claims court beckons..

Got bidden by bed bugs

I arrived at the DeSalis hotel London Stansted on the 15th. of september, at 2 am.
The recptionist was helpful and kind, despite the late hour.

I only stayed at the hotel for the night and then I was off to the airport.

Unfortunately I was bidden by bed bugs and I am still suffering from it 14 days after my stay at DeSalis hotel London Stansted.

I've tried to call the hotel several times, left my name and number for them to call me back, but they haven't called me back.
Prior to my stay at this hotel, I sent a few emails but never got any reply.

Over all, I cannot recommend this hotel, and I am sad I choose to stay there only a few days before going to a wedding. I will never revisit this hotel and will try my best to prevent my friends and family from going there.

I stayed at room 21, but now knowing about bed bugs, they probably will be in other rooms too.

Very poor decoration

Very poor decoration, cleanliness, dining room very strangely decorated. Website stated that when travelling back to collect car, a taxi from Stansted would be approximately £16. This was very misleading as the cost of £25.00. Will certainly not be using this hotel in the future

Unmanaged and unmaintained

This hotel is reminiscent of the old communist bloc hotels of Eastern Europe in all but price. Everything is worn out. Nothing has been attended to in years. Tables in dining room sticky. Broken window in dining room. Car park a mass of weeds and puddles and dereliction. Bedroom stains everywhere. All the decor is out of harmony. None of the staff had english as a first language. Breakfast a very long wait, minimal size and different to order and extra charges on top of £95 for a riffy room. Night noise that was not aircraft. These comments are corroborated by booking.com reviews.
