NOT FOUNTAIN PEN FRIENDLY
I have an older Denik large lay flat notebook with the rounded corners and the paper is a smooth wonderful experience. No bleed through, no feathering, and is more ink resistant which shows ink properties very well. When it was time to get a new notebook I went with a custom design in a medium spiral. Needless to say this was an absolute disappointment. The paper feels thinner, and the bleed through & feathering is atrocious. If thats not bad enough, after writing when you run your finger over the writing, it has a brail feel to it. By the way, I was using a broad nib which I have yet to find a paper that it has done this until now. If you want ink properties like sheen or shimmer not gonna happen with this paper. If you want a thinner ef/f line with this paper, not gonna happen. This paper soakes up ink to the point it will double your line and eliminate any line variation all at the same time. Did a wetness test and with a wet/well behaved ink, it immediately was dry to the touch on both sides of the paper. Whatever changes this company made between the two was a absolute step backwards, will be going back to Tomoe River.
