Slow and unresponsive
Very unhappy with how Decimus Fearon handled an extension of the lease on my flat. Partly with the time it took - 4 months before submission to the Land Registry, despite it being a very simple situation (share of freehold, with only 2 other flat owners). Partly with being sent a bill charging £300 more than the initially agreed amount (later corrected when I queried it). But mainly with the almost complete lack of responsiveness when I emailed or called them (eg to find out why nothing seemed to be happening). It was like dealing with a brick wall.
Even after submission to the Land Registry (as an expedited submission - Land Registry say they aim to deal with these in 10 days) - it was 7 weeks before Decimus Fearon sent me confirmation of the lease extension. Emails I sent after 3, 4 and 5 weeks of the submission to ask if it had been registered got no response. I still don't know (despite asking for the information) how I will get a copy of the new lease.
