After carrying out lots and lots of research into Whisky as part of my retirement investment portfolio I finally decided to speak with Whiskey Partners which is part of the Decant Group. I’ve been with them nearly a year now and really can’t recommend them enough. I deal with Nathan Crimp who has guided me with great skill through this new world. I thought I knew a fair bit about Whisky, how wrong was I and after Nathan invited me to one of the bonded warehouses to view and taste one of my casks, I have absolute confidence that the team are looking after my assets and therefore my investments. I’ve even got my mother in law signed up and investing🤓 I currently hold 4 Bourbon and 4 Whiskey cask with investment time spans of 3 to 15 years.

I started my journey into whiskey investment earlier this year, as a way to diversify and try something a little less mainstream. I am not a whisky drinker, and had very little knowledge. Nathan pointed me in the direction of helpful articles for my own research and spent time helping me find stock that I was comfortable with. While the true test will be when I come to sell… I’m feeling confident.

Good advice. Easily checked. It does help to have a little knowledge concerning whisky. However the Client Advisors are excellent and explain things in terms that you can relate to.
Do not necessarily go for something you would drink. You are looking for investment. The premier “Marks” cost a fortune. You do not need to go this route for a profit. Decide how long you want to “hold” a cask and buy on this based on your idea of length of investment. Remember, currently in the UK this is Capital Gains Tax free. (Who knows for how long).
