This is a fraudulent business. This company have somehow decided I owe £184.95 for a gym membership. They then set up a direct debit from my bank without permission and proceeded to take £50 a month. I don't have a gym membership. Also I don't understand how a private company can set up a direct debit without permission.

I wrote to my Gym and cancelled my membership on the 7th November as the contract stated I could. I let the direct debit go out on the 1st December to take last payment. No I’m getting text to say my account is overdue.
I have not used the Gym since last June due to illness so they have had more than enough money out of me.
I am also aware the gym has been taken over, however as members we had no news of this or any new contact details.
I have since tried to find an email to contact DFC and failed. The ref is YYUZAIPI

They don't deserve not even 1 star. Shame gyms and Leisure centres are working with them.

Ok Cancelled a Gym membership. Was out of contract a long time. I had to go into the bank to do it. The DD was set up in such a way I could not cancel it on the banking app, quite sinister I thought. The gym I was contracted to had changed hands so I gave them the written notice. Getting threatening emails from Debit Finance now saying they want the DD set up again and are going to charge me and my wife £15 each for their trouble. If I’m in the wrong I would like Debit finance to email me and explain. JamesWren
Had a reply from Nichola at DF this morning. Our membership finishes in May 25 ,( moved house and lost the paperwork) She has cancelled it from then. Thanks Nichola

I have asked the finance ombudsman also a solicitor to look into them and their very dodgy ways they extort money from the public !
STAY AWAY VERY BAD NEWS

They tell blatant lies when selling I have proof
If it’s the last thing I do I will have them investigated !

I have never heard of this company before but some how have clearly stolen my banking details and set up a direct debit for a gym membership which I have no clue about. I don’t go to a gym neither have I signed up for one. The first payment can out of my bank account yesterday with another payment scheduled for the 1st January 2025 at £35. I complained to my bank, reported this fraudulent company to them and have no had my money refunded by my bank. This company is nothing but a fraudulent scam. They are stealing people’s banking details and setting up direct debits. The gym I found on their website appears to be over 200 miles away from where I live. Clearly I would not be signing up or attending a gym that far away if I actually went to the gym which I don’t.
I see many people have found themselves in the same or similar situations. You need to report this company to the Insolvency Service. I have done so. If they find a sufficient amount of people have been fraudulently scammed they can investigate. This company needs to be shutdown. There is nearly 800 complaints about this company on here alone imagine all those this has happened too and is currently or about to happen to that haven’t complained or written on here. If you can take the time to report this company to the Insolvency Service. They shouldn’t be aloud to operate, they need to be shutdown. They’re a registered company of fraudsters stealing banking information and setting up fraudulent and illegal direct debits.

I have been paying you for nearly 2 years and I have no idea what for. My debts not going down. I do not use a gym as I am disabled please help

I have a direct debit from this company and have no idea what it is. I haven’t joined any new gyms or subscriptions. Offices are closed and have short midweek opening hours. No list of partners online. Online form didn’t work.
I find the lack of transparency and ability to take my money via direct debit with no explicit permission absolutely horrifying.

I’ve just seen that I have been charged a few days ago £326 which I have no idea what for , I don’t have gym membership, vets or any overdue payments for anything. I don’t know how this company can set up a direct debit without permission from my side and what for was this payment taken away. This is just absolutely disgusting, scammers and online robbing. I have reported them.

This company has enabled my child to take out an account which I believe breaks the law. The gym encouraged them to sign up in their parent’s name as they are under 18 - no identity checks or parental permission required.
We have tried to cancel the gym membership as my child has moved away for university and have now canceled the direct debit.
This company is now pursuing arrears payments for a contract in my name, impacting my credit score and causing significant stress to a vulnerable young person who was coerced into taking out a contract when under age.
The company’s response suggests going back to the gym to resolve this, but the gym say that debitfinance will not allow them to cancel the agreement - so there is no resolution.
This is very distressing for a young person, who also has additional needs that make communication and dealing with information difficult. I think this company has a moral and legal responsibility to ensure that companies it works with are following appropriate process to enter into contracts, and should be supporting customers who have been placed in impossible situations.

I have recently tried to cancel my gym membership as I do not physically have time to attend due to changing job. Going from part-time to full time and having to commute an hr there and back. My daughter who has lots of after school clubs. My father who is ill with cancer and needs cared for.
They asked for a letter from my work stating my new job role and told me they would cancel it no bother. I sent the letter and cancelled my direct debit. I have now been in touch with them on several occasions being told my reasons are not good enough and I have to pay an excess fee of £200. They have also charged me for not making my £25 payment so I now have to pay £40 as I now have a late payment fee of £15 added on.
They will be able to see I haven’t used they gym in over 2 months as we have to use our card to sign in. I just feel life should be this hard!! I just want to cancel this and move on. I’m have more serious issues in life that need my energy.

I’ve just had a direct debit come out and I have absolutely no reason why. I can’t find any clear information online and I certainly haven’t signed up for any gym memberships etc

This Company have been debiting my account for I have no idea what. Please enlighten me DFC and tell me why you have taken over £650 from my bank account and for who/what. I am very interested in hearing your response and as of now the DD you set up is cancelled.

Any gym that uses this company is complicit in its extremely poor customer service and dishonesty.
Be careful of hidden clauses in the contract !! They are extremely unethical and don’t care about anything else other than money collection. AVOID ANY COMPANY ASSOCIATED WITH THEM ! They are scamming the users and a lousy financial service for their client.

I act for my son who has learning disabilities under power of attorney. Gym membership cancelled 2 years ago but payments still being taken up to yesterday. For a young man living on benefits this is ridiculous. I contacted his bank and have managed to cancel the direct debit mandate.
Update:
I contacted DFC and they were very efficient at following up on this. Unfortunately they were unable to obtain any refund.

G’afternoon…
Apparently I am not the only one. You have dishonestly appropriated money from my bank account. If your intention is to permanently deprive me of my money - then that is the offence of theft made out.
To stop me making a crime report kindly return my money and assure me you won’t do this again. The DD you’ve called on was cancelled years ago.
