Stone age Policies
In 2024, my account was hacked. No money was lost, but DCU reviewed the case and made a decision to restrict my online access to my account until my loan is paid. It is now 2026 and I do not have digital access to my account, which makes it impossible to link my account and loan repayment to the budgeting program I want to use. Essentially, DCU refuses to review the case and lift the restriction in order for me to digitally access my account information as if they are in the stone age instead of the technology age. It is my opinion that DCU does have the technical capability to review my case and lift the restriction, but they are determined that once the decision has been made (2 years ago with on time payments since), they cannot reverse the decision. This stubbornness is poor customer service no matter how politely they reiterated that their decision is in stone and have not given me a reason for the decision to start with.

It had been almost a month of back and forth and more document requests but today I finally had a rep who spent over 30 minutes on the phone with me going back and forth with underwriting to get everything cleared.
Disappointed
DCU used to be one of the best banks in this state. Now, I wouldn't recommend anyone to this bank. They continue to mess up my insurance with the loan department. No matter how many times I submit the documentation, they add money to my loan and then I have to send the SAME documentation to have it put back to normal. They want you as the customer to do all the work instead of looking I their data base (one employee did and was able to fix the problem, this time). Also, I’ve been banking with them for over 10 years, they still deny me photo banking for checks. They can’t give me a valid reason why, they just know I can’t have it. Every time I call, I’m sent in circles and everyone has a different response. I think it may be time to look elsewhere.

My auto loan request was handled by CIndy
My auto loan request was handled by Cindy. She was very friendly and extremely helpful. She was able to quickly understand my requirements, look up my online request online and determine it was still under review. Cindy very kindly offered to talk to the under-writing department and get an answer while I was the phone. She did exactly that and got an answer within 10 mins. She was also able to approve a better interest rate due to direct deposit. Overall, it was a great experience as always.
