If it is possible to leave a zero star…

If it is possible to leave a zero star review I would. My card was used fraudulently to pay a fine. My credit card company were fantastic and refunded me straight away. However DCB ignored my emails, said they couldn’t respond due to data protection as the fine paid wasn’t mine. Had no sympathy for how worried I was and took weeks to reply. I escalated it to their complaints department who confirmed I had no debt with them but still insist ‘no fraudulent use of my card’ was committed. My credit card company have reported to Action Fraud but I am doubtful of a satisfactory resolution. Nasty horrible people.

0/5 do not pay this company a penny

Please read this review.

DO NOT pay this company a penny if you know you have not breached any parking rules. Especially when they send you a letter with no pictures of your car with no date and time stamps. These clowns will chase you with letters, phone calls etc, ignore them, do not engage with them and await a court letter.

Go through the process, engage with the court letters (or they'll win), deny the claim and give your evidence, take the phone call with the mediator (who told me I parked my car for 2 days, laughable!). Then they'll disappear! When you stand up and challenge them back they dropped the fine from £200 to £60. I did not pay them a penny, and was prepared to go to court with these bullies.

Unsurprisingly, the court threw the case out as this company will disengage when they have zero evidence. They are chancers and hope people will pay with their intimidating letters, don't fall for it. If you know that you have not breached your stay, do not pay!

I hope this helps someone!

DCB Legal - Brilliant

Every member of staff at DCB Legal were extremely helpful and courteous. I initially dealt with Andrew and then James. They both kept me up to date and always telephoned or emailed me when they said they would. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone.

Received a letter from DCB and have responded every day for the 18 working Days requesting that they contact me to resolve an Issue that i disagree with BUT am willing to resolve, i provided my Mobile Number and Email Address, not one call or Email which is really frustrating and unprofessional, the letters also come across quite threatening.

The Last Laugh

Well well well, it's no surprise these guys don't have many good reviews, I mean they're a debt collection agency. To be honest, if I was attempting to collect debt from someone, these guys would be the last people I turn to.

I was bombarded with threatening and scaremongering letters about taking me to court and getting a CCJ blah blah blah for roughly a year for being 16 seconds over a 5 minute grace period for dropping off a parcel at an inPost locker which was passed on by ParkingEye who owned the land.

It is now the law to allow a 15 minute grace period FYI.

Anyway, these guys weren't getting a chocolate Freddo from me let alone the £267 and some change they thought they were owed - honestly not sure how their thick minds came up with this number. Weeks and months of calls from them demanding payment lead me to giving in and offering them £1 (I thought this was generous) to close this idiotic case - unsurprisingly they declined. Every call they made I lowered my offer by 50% and told them this would continue for the foreseeable and recommended them to accept. I wasn't bluffing...

Of course I advised them how stupid the whole ordeal was and advised they closed the case to save themselves some money (I'm a nice guy). Just when I thought they couldn't get any more stupid they hit me with a "letter before court claim" which I couldn't help but laugh at, surely they weren't going to attempt to take me to court over 16 seconds?! Surprise surprise, the dumb get dumber and they did. Well, they tried. I completed all court documents and submitted everything that was necessary as ignoring them could have actually lead to more inconvenience.

I told them I was looking forward to seeing them in court to then find out a few weeks later that they decided to terminate proceedings?!I wonder why, silly billy's (or should I say bully's). I expressed my heartbeak and they ghosted me :(

DO NOT admit any liability or give in to their threatening legal scams.

All in all, great experience for me and I for sure had the last laugh.

NO STARS - AWFUL COMPANY

NO STARS - Civil Enforcement Limited & DCB Legal – HAHAHAHA I WON!!!
Where do I even start? For an ENTIRE YEAR I was absolutely bombarded with threatening, intimidating, and disgusting letters from Civil Enforcement Limited and their so-called “solicitors” DCB Legal. These letters had the “Can’t Pay? We’ll Take It Away” logo plastered all over them, threatening bailiffs, seizures, and court action — all because of a £2 parking ticket that I actually paid for (and had the physical proof of!).
Let’s rewind. My partner and I were at QMC Hospital for an early pregnancy scan after going through an ectopic pregnancy and a miscarriage earlier that year. We were emotional, anxious, and just trying to do the right thing. My partner parked my car at Leen Gate car park and paid for the full duration, but in his rush, he accidentally typed the registration as an ‘I’ instead of a ‘1’. One tiny typo. That’s it. You can’t even have an ‘I’ issued on UK number plates.

So what did Civil Enforcement Limited do? Instead of checking their system and seeing no other car with that reg was even there, they decided to go FULL attack mode. For over YEAR I was harassed with legal threats, letters, and calls from DCB Legal — who are, frankly, absolute cowboy bullies. The way they operate is completely shameful. Anyone working for a company like that, trying to exploit and intimidate people over honest mistakes, should be utterly ashamed of themselves!
As a solicitor myself (albeit a residential property one), I wasn’t having any of it. I took this ALL the way to court. I filed my defence, stood my ground, and was ready to make an absolute mockery of Civil Enforcement Limited and DCB Legal in front of magistrates.
During the process, I got about 100 “without prejudice” calls from DCB Legal trying to make me settle for around £200 — for a £2 ticket I had ALREADY paid for! Civil Enforcement Limited suffered NO financial loss here. Even the court mediator during our telephone meeting told me he hoped I’d win, calling them bullies (his words, not mine)!!
And guess what? Just days before the hearing — when Civil Enforcement Limited had to actually PAY the court fee — they backed out and WITHDREW the claim!!

I was 4 weeks pregnant when I received the initial fine. My rainbow baby son is now 18 months old and it’s only JUST been resolved. Stand up to these bully companies, we have to make an example out of them!!!

So to Civil Enforcement Limited and DCB Legal, if you’re reading this…

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I WIN!!!!!
You are both awful AWFUL, horrible, nasty companies — you picked the wrong person to mess with. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! 🎉🎉🎉

Parasites

Two things; one how in the hell has a company such as this got an average of more than 1 star? Genuinely, this has to be shills. There is no legitimate way to explain that. Oh, it's people using them for legal advice whilst they turf people out of their homes. Makes sense. Second, as with most people commenting here, I am getting non-stop claims from these parasites. In September 2023 I picked up a PCN from a Smart Parking carpark; my fault, I admit it. I shot up to my local town centre to pick up some last minute stores as I was being deployed on operations for several months the following morning (I am in the military). Obviously, I couldn't know that I had picked up a PCN and only discovered it when I returned after six weeks to bury a family member before redeploying again. During my time back, I contacted Smart Parking and explained what the situation was and they agreed to drop the late payment fee and allow me to pay the original £60, which I immediately did. They provide and control the portal through which you pay the PCN; there is no way you can just enter your own amount, so it can only have been Smart Parking that agreed to waive the late fees (keep that in mind if you are one of the shills who always sides with these companies). Two years later I start getting harassed by these clowns asking for £170 for late payment fees for a PCN. At first I thought it was a scam and ignored it. After the fifth/sixth letter I followed it up, noticed it was for the 2023 PCN and so provided evidence of my payment (bank transaction and the PCN check from Smart Parking website (showing no further payment required)). They refused it and insisted that I pay the full amount and have continued to harass me for the money. When I checked the Smart Parking website today, they have reopened the PCN; I have archived evidence of the paid PCN, so I don't know how they will argue that they can just reopen a settled PCN two years down the line!?

Anyway, I would prefer to eat my own toenails in a soup than pay these parasitic scum companies. Genuinely, these legally-protected parasite companies are eroding our communities and causing misery to so many people and we just blindly let them crack on with what they do, and the County Courts uphold their leaching. I genuinely feel for the poor sods who are struggling to make ends meet and get caught up by these scum.

This company is morally corrupt and in…

This company is morally corrupt and in my opinion extorting money from people through threats and intimidation! I was issued a parking fine in error, for a period of parking that I did pay for! Unfortunately, due to a house move by the time I found out it was with DCB and £170, who told me they were not interested in my dispute and wouldn’t investigate it for me, nor provide contact details of the parking company in question. They then moved my case 5”to DCB LEGAL who sent it straight to a CCJ, and have me 30 days to pay £350, or it would be on my credit file for 6 years. I paid in full within the required time and the CCJ has been registered on my credit file anyway! They are now saying it’s not their job to remove it and I have to wait for the courts. I have been calling the court for days with in call queue for hours at a time and not getting through to sn advisor. This place needs shutting down!

Amazing from start to finish

Katy Long and Amy Stephens have been absolutely amazing from start to finish with constant prompt communication. The whole possession order process took well under a year to resolve. When I felt very overwhelmed I could also talk to Katy or Amy. The costs are very competitive and worth every penny. I would 100% recommend this professional company to anyone.
