I have transfer $1K from my acct with…

I have transfer $1K from my acct with POSB/DBS to another bank for my credit card payment, transferred did not go thru due to error / high traffic, system ask to try again later.

Finally managed to transfer on the 4th tried but instead of debiting $1K from my acct, all the previous 3 unsuccessful transfers were also deducted from my acct, leaving me with only few dollars left.

It’s being 4 days since this incident and the bank have not credit back my $3K. Everyday the reply I got from them was waiting for back end to check. Not sure what is the back end doing? Is their IT team trustworthy, why the team was not able to trace or check what happen after so many days.

I have also confirmed with my credit card bank and it’s confirmed they only received $1K being credited, so where is my $3K?

Very disappointed with this type of service from DBS, send feedback and the reply was as good as no answer.

Imagine if I need this money for emergency, who is going to be responsible???

Very high amount of revolving interest for a balance of 30 paise

Myself, Dr. Oommen P Mathew. Last month balance amount for my credit card was Rs. 17082.30. I was paid an amount of Rs. 17082. It was not possible to Rs. 17083 as it is grater than the bill amount. This month I was charged an amount of Rs. 1256.12 as Revolving Interest Rate. When I called customer care service, it was informed that there is an outstanding amount of 30 paise, hence the revolving interest. It is a very bad experience.

Beware of DBS India

Beware! These folks will only sell you investments and cleverly misrepresent facts about investments. Once the deal is done they will not bother. They will not even spare senior citizens. I am trying to followup with them including the nodal office to get an update on a defunct investment. It has been 10 months (at the time of writing this) and not even one word about an update. Careful folks about DBS India.

Crap bank that they are

Crap bank that they are! I raised a dispute for a problematic transaction with a game merchant that requires a chargeback in order to get back my money. Guess what? They refused to open a case for chargeback and keep harping on the 90 days chargeback policy that my transactions were beyond that for it to take place. They did gave a $400 goodwill refund, but that disputed amount was $1,136.60, they are not even willing to take it to iTunes for the chargeback

I did the same chargeback dispute with Citibank and some of the transactions are also beyond 90 days and the whole case was completely resolved iTunes did a DR invoices for all the disputed transactions and this refunded amount will be reflected in the latest citibank statement. So why is citibank able to pursue and get my money back for transactions that are past 90 days and DBS cant?

19 years with DBS and that the best they can do and I have only been with Citibank for less than a year and yet they did much more to help. Time to close DBS and use other banks instead

My DBS debit card was stolen in Bangkok…

My DBS debit card was stolen in Bangkok - I got an alert on the app that the card had been used for 3 purchases of about 700 SGD each (when converted). Upon finding out I immediately called the bank and had the card cancelled and was told not to worry. 2 days later the $ still left my account - it was made with some fraudulent credit card machine. I filed 2 polie reports one in BK and one on return in SG. had numerous emails and calls with DBS over 3 months only to find out today that they would not help compensate or investigate the crime. As i see it there is little to no protection on these cards if stolen. Very disappointing and drawn out experience with the bank.

ASIA'S WORST BANK, AVOID IT MORE THAN THE PLAGUE

I had opened an RD account in June 2021 for 18 months with instructions to credit the SB account upon maturity (on 31st Dec 2022). However, instead of following instructions, the Bank wanted me to sign a request for crediting the RD proceeds which is contrary to Bank practice. Further, they took one week to credit the amount for which the Bank was unapologetic and paid no penalty. On the other hand, I had also opened an FD for initial value Rs 11,000 maturing on the 31st dec, which contrary to instructions to credit the SB acc upon maturity, was auto renewed for a further period. again, the Bank forced me to sign forms and then after 4 days credited only Rs 7,156 into my acc that is less than even the initial deposit value of Rs 11,000 (the maturity value was Rs 12,075). Ostensibly, the almost Rs5,000 charged was towards PENALTY !!! This Bank of Robbers and Dacoits, follows the policy of my blood is blood, but your blood is sewage water !!!! PLEASE AVOILD THIS BANK LIKE YOU WOULD AVOID THE PLAGUE ....

Incompetent bank - DBS Treasure

Being a DBS Treasure member, I am shocked to find out that bank of such stature could be so incompetent in making a low-level mistake. The internet banking asked me to update my UK contact number. I provided the full numbers as in any other banking systems. Since then I could not log into my internet banking account as it kept asking me to key in the codes that they have sent via SMS. Guess what? they sent them through +44 07xxxxxx. Any reputable international bank should know that UK number should have the first zero dropped when an international dialling code is used. For unknown reasons, DBS does not. I called multiple times to rectify them but was told that a manager will call me to verify. I did not receive any call till date! You need a manager to confirm that calling a UK number from abroad needs to have the front ‘0’ dropped? Come on. UOB does not commit this low level mistakes!

THANK YOU SO MUCH MS WAN SHAH

Dear Head of DBS Bank, Westgate Branch,

I, Hazlinda Halim, have accompanied my two nephews to your branch yesterday at around 11am. Having the long wait, we were very satisfied with the end results.

We came down straight from the Family Court yesterday as the Court has ordered my nephew Muhammad Amir Hakim and Muhammad Aiman Hasif to close their joint account with their late mother, Ms Haryati Binte Halim (my fourth sister), who passed on, on the 15th October 2022.

They were attended by Ms Wan Shah at the counter.
We wanted to close the account immediately before the account get freeze from the court.

Ms Wan Shah has so much of patience and full of capability. She has closed the account for my first nephew, open a new account, transferred the fund to the new account after she heard that the next appointment date on account opening will be on the 5th December 2022. She has decided to assist to open the new account for my two nephews as they have to make many level of process, including informing SAF on his army salary, FAS funds transfer and maintenance fees from their father.

I would like to express my gratitude on the help and patience given by Ms Wan Shah till the end of the process.

Ms Wan Shah deserves the best increment and bonus.

Once again thank you and wishing DBS a prosperous year ahead.

Yours sincerely,
Hazlinda Halim

Silly bank headed by silly teams

Backward bank that makes low-risk locally incorporated companies jump through a million hoops (even though DBS already has all your information) before DBS allows you to perform a simple transaction. Extremely UNfriendly to SMEs. If you are an SME - AVOID this bank at all costs! (You have been warned.) If you open multiple accounts (multi-currency, fixed deposit, vickers, etc.) with them, you have to fill up their forms multiple times, each time finishing 8-10 pages of forms as if you are a new client (even though your business did not undergo any change). Extremely silly operations and compliance teams they have here whose goals are to inconvenience all their SME clients.
