Don’t bother

These brollys are ok but nothing special. They’re difficult to collapse because you have to push a tiny button on each of the four sections. I was expecting a one button auto open as well but you don’t even get that. Also the handle feels cheap and plasticky so I sent it back. The idea is to sell a product at 10x what it’s worth and play the numbers game of how many will get broken or lost

Bad customer service

The company wouldn’t exchange an unused product as I had no proof of purchase.

I’d expect better customer service from a ‘premium’ brand promising exemplary customer service.

Avoid this company!

Best customer experience

Amazing customer service and great product. My husband has raved about his Davek Commute for the past 5 years and was gutted when it broke BUT we filled out the simple repairs form online and they sent him a brand new one without quibble. EXCEPTIONAL customer service and superb product.

Less marketing, please!

Davek umbrellas are good. They are made from quality materials. They do the job better than most other umbrellas. I just wish they didn't send me so many emails about buying more umbrellas. I have an umbrella now, OK, Davek? Thank you!

After 4 years I got a replacement no problem

I’ve had my Davek traveler now for about 4 years I keep handy in the side pocket of my bag. Only problem I’ve had in that time is one of the arms didn’t open correctly so I sent it back costing me £9.99 postage and another £4.69 to send it by registered post. I received a new umbrella in 6 days from sending it to receiving it in total its cost me £14.68 in postage I personally don’t think that’s bad. Nothings unbreakable regardless of cost but I know it will be replaced when it breaks so no problem. My Davek cost me £89 when I purchased it with a lifetime guarantee a friend of mine paid £300 for a designer brand with a 12 month warranty it broke after 13 months unlucky. What’s not to like.

Very poor experience

I liked the look of the Davek Mini but when I attempted to purchase it online, the transaction pre-authorised with Google but my bank rejected the transaction and the website asked me to resubmit the basket. I did this but AGAIN the same thing happened. I sent an email to the manufacturer and received a phone call at 11pm at night from New York asking me to pay over the phone!
Erm ...... NO !!!

This business either needs to get a proper UK distribution/reseller network or cease trading in the UK. Transacting online and the lifetime warranty are not fit for purpose in a country where there is no bricks and mortar channel/reseller network. Either do the job properly, invest in the UK and keep your reputation or stick with your US sales territory.

You pay to return their poor products

My Mini umbrella broke in less than a year. It wasn't windy or bad weather, just light rain. I put the umbrella up and the top snapped off.

This was annoying but more so is that I paid £4.99 to ship it to N Ireland to be assessed then, once the umbrella was rated in need of replacement, I had to pay £9.99 to get it shipped from the US. This is already more than I pay for a normal umbrella.

I really don't recommend them. Why should I pay £15 to replace a substandard product? A shop would have just given me my money back or replaced it free of charge.

Absolutely Useless

My wife got given one of these and they are crap. Really expensive and heavy and broken after 3 uses.

Lifetime guarantee works if you send them a tenner to cover postage PLUS cost of you sending it to them so basically £20.

You can buy a few umbrellas for £20 and still have change and more importantly last longer.

Low quality for a high price

I'm just about to send my broken brolly back for the third time!! I've had two broken shafts and now a snapped canopy spoke. The fibre glass they use for the skeleton just isn't strong enough. They do have a lifetime guarantee but it still costs £20 in postage to send the old one and receive the replacement. Quality is not good at all

Owned a davek solo for a couple of years in which I probably used 10 times in total. Stopped opening correctly and Frame bent after a little wind. Not worth the money by the time you pay to send it back and forth to them each time. Your better of buying a £20 umbrella and throwing it when it breaks.

I got fed up with Brolly's that simply fall apart at the slightest breath of wind.
It made me shout when i was out when my cheap as chips Brolly turned inside out.
Now for the rest of my life my kid's myself and my wife will be only using Davek Umbrellas as you simply can't buy a better Brolly.

Great service speedy dispatch of umbrella, great umbrella's I have had the large umbrella for a couple of years and it's served me well. The mini umbrella fits in a jacket pocket, is light and is great to have if the weather forecast is uncertain.
Highly recommended.

Really nice umbrella's but not perfect.

The umbrella's are well made but there's a couple of things I don't like about them, firstly I find the handle uncomfortable when you have hold them for a while (it's like the metal globe and clip are not a natural fit for the hand) and secondly I find the Velcro strip that hold the umbrella together when you fold it annoying because it hangs down and if it's in front of you while your walking it doesn't exactly hinder your vision but it's very annoying and there's no obvious way of knowing what position it's in when you are holding the umbrella. Maybe they could restyle the handle so it has a more natural position in the hand and when you hold it the Velcro strap is automatically positioned at the back of your head so it doesn't annoy you. I also think they are heavy but I guess that's because they are so well made.

Great sized umbrella for handbag

Both purchases were not for me but as a gift. According to them, they live the umbrella and it’s practical handbag size. It is sturdy but had not yet been tested in windy conditions.
The ordering was straight forward abd the delivery was very quick. Would love to see them in a box as this is a nice touch when giving as a gift.
I will be looking to get a Davek for myself in the near future.
