Get Involved
The first event I went to was very well organised and put together, the crew running the event were very involved and personable. Definitely a positive experience being able to speak to fellow professionals and gain insights and understanding into processes and techniques. Good knowledge and experience sharing
Great session at the Co-operative Group yesterday.
In a 2 hours session I managed to grasp what data science really do and what it takes to go down this road.
1. Good communications skills
2. Passion for how data explains behaviour and attitudes
3. and yes, you will need to a bit of maths and computer programming

Good event: talks were informative; and insightful, and pitched at a good level; everything was well organised; and, of course, free beer and pizza. There's not really a lot more you could want from a data science event.

I enjoy meeting people in my field that…
I enjoy meeting people in my field that otherwise I wouldn't have the chance to run across. The meetups are pleasant and foster an environment where people are approachable and relaxed. The talks are for a general audience and don't involve topics that are too technical and would require a PhD in machine learning to appreciate. There should be more DSF events!

DSF organises very good events on DS-related topics. They find good hosts, interesting topics and good speakers. There are always some food & drinks provided. I highly recommend checking their events out.
