I’ve been with DEA for a while, and it has been the right choice for me. Data Engineering requires many skills — SQL, Python, AWS, Snowflake, Spark, dbt, and more — and DEA’s materials make these... See more

They charged my credit card even though the loan they had promised did not get approved. The service was not rendered. I asked for refunds, but they ignored me. It is a bad business practice to charge the vulnerable without rendering the service.

DEA checks the boxes in terms of active and engaged support. Osaki is a phenomenal customer success manager. In addition to our regular calls, he is active in Slack and if I have any issues, he makes sure that the right people get involved.
In terms of ROI - this is an investment in your future. I am writing this review 2 months into the program and I have not started to apply for jobs yet, so I have not realized any return. But my experience thus far with the coaches and content makes me confident that I will be able to land a job soon.

DE Academy is a great academy to help you learn how Data works. They are very resourceful and use a lot of hands on projects to help you learn real-world hands-on tasks as if you were a Data Analysis or Engineer.

I am currently transitioning from Structural Engineer to Data Engineer role. Changing field is a nightmare and yes I am working on it to make it real!!!
DEA is really helpful in this journey so far, learning pandas / python / sql is not easy!! but with the correct guidance it is possible. With Yash, CSM at DEA I can see it that I would achieve my goal!!

Learning a lot from Data Engineer Academy
I have over 10 years experience in the healthcare domain attempting to transition into the data analytics space. I started the program a few months ago and from my experience I highly recommend their program to help people to grasp top notch skills in-order to gain the knowledge necessary to get into the field, to further their capabilities to grow in their existing one, or to be able to find great additional job opportunities. I have learned a lot from their very supportive, helpful, and knowledgeable coaches, self-learning modalities, and everything that is being offered on their platforms such as through their numerous live and recorded coaching sessions.

It is a bit preliminary, but the program has a lot of technical and interview material, and provides lots of mock interview support. I can't wait to get through everything and get going with the job hunt part of it!

Before joining DE Academy I had goals of being in tech, but through Cyber Security. I lost interest in that and my interest was piqued by Data Engineering. Its' fun for me actually. I had some reserves about learning data engineering, because it is a new skill for me. I follow the tailored plan for me constructed by DE Academy. I truly believe I will get the job that I want and finally in an industry that I believe l will love.
I am enjoying the self-paced approach that DE Academy provide. I am a current Grad student, I graduate this December, and hope to have a Data Engineer job by then. I also enjoy the sensation I get from solving code based off the criteria. The resources they have are accessible 24/7, making the learning experience delightful. You can join live calls, watch videos, and do practice questions.
I have not completed the course yet, but so far so good. I look forward to what is ahead. I have landed the new skills of SQL and very comfortable using Syntax.
I would recommend DE Academy to anyone looking to work in an industry meaningful to today's society. Especially if you aren't set on a career already, don't have a Bachelor's or Master's degree, this is a wonderful skill to obtain.

So far, the program has been pretty good. (~1 month in) The practice questions are good, recorded content is good, and the team is pretty responsive. However, I have not yet gone through any of the job application portion so I am not confident in reviewing the whole program - will follow up afterwards.

Taking a course with Data engineer Academy makes me feel great because their courses are well simplified and in scenario where i got stuck, I asked for assistant from the team who are always available to help. Their course program is well structured to meet the market demand for skilled workers. Course like SQL which in my previous program was my nightmare is well simplified for my understanding. I believe by the end of my program, i will pick up a job.

So far my experience has been good, I would give it 5 stars but the original plan is taking longer than initially promised. They helped improve my resume which has increased initial interaction with my applications which has been great. Looking for job placement soon hopefully.
DE Academy provided me the resources to master what is relevant in data Engineering today. They have a very structured program which concentrates on what is relevant to get into the job market. There are plenty of resources to practice and master SQL and python related to DE and also provide many mock interviews. They also have plenty of Week day classes for learning DE topics and projects which you can complete to gain confidence in the area you plan to work in.
DEA has good training material, and the staff is very helpful.
Only thing I would recommend is to have one-on-one training, when there is a need.
Thx
I joined DE Academy a few months ago, and so far, my experience has been great. Even though I come from a technical background, I find the courses very easy to understand and follow. The structure is clear, and the learning path makes it manageable to stay consistent.
I am currently halfway through the program and will be starting my project soon. I appreciate how the material is designed to build confidence step by step.
I’ll update my review later once I complete the program, go through the job process, and have a better idea of the overall outcome. But for now, I can say DE Academy has been a solid and positive learning experience. Coaches Ryan and Yash have been very supportive answering all my questions and motivating me.
Goals before starting DE Academy is to land a remote job that would allow me to have more flexibility with my career and my life. I have never done Data before so I knew this would be a challenge so far I am 1 month and 2 weeks in and the courses they offer and help is great but for a beginner to understand SQL in 1 month is beyond reach but I am trying to balance it with my full time job as well so maybe it might take me longer than other students, so far the support is great my mentor is Osaki and he’s constantly checking in, which I appreciate to help me stay accountable for what’s due and keep me on track. I have the emerald program and they help with your resume and mock interviews but they don’t help you apply or secure a job placement that would be the Gold membership, I was under the impression based on conversations with recruiter that they would help but it was not guaranteed. Other than that the program and help is great so hopefully I could launch a job without needing to upgrade
There is a breakdown in the communication process. When you ask someone to pay a high ticket price, there is a level of professionalism that should be expected at all levels of starting this journey. The fact that I was required to pay an initial payment, and then was told that I wasn't being signed up for the program that was discussed.

DEA coachers seriously helped and coached me to find a job. The personal plan is so good to fit into my background and paces... The learning materials are the best organizaed with practical problems/lab exercise in depth... I will follow their guidelines/directions moving to be more successful career goals. It's real!

I was initially hesitant to commit to the Data Engineer Academy due to work and life obligations, but I’m really glad I joined. So far, my experience has been very positive. Yash has been an incredible CSM—supportive, understanding, and responsive. He worked with me to readjust my timeline when needed, helped me focus on the areas that are most relevant to my current job, and encouraged me to continue challenging myself. The incremental learning approach has been exactly what I was looking for, and it’s already been very helpful in building my skills. I recently transitioned to Ryan as part of the program, and so far the process has been smooth. Overall, the resources and guidance have been excellent, and I’m looking forward to my continued progress.

I have had nothing but support through a rough patch I had in the middle of my schooling. When I came back it was like I never left

The Data Engineering Academy provides well-structured course content that covers both fundamental concepts and real-world applications. The learning material is practical, clear, and easy to follow, which makes it valuable for both beginners and experienced professionals.
I highly recommend the Data Engineering Academy to anyone who wants to build strong, industry-relevant data engineering skills.
