I’ve been with DEA for a while, and it has been the right choice for me. Data Engineering requires many skills — SQL, Python, AWS, Snowflake, Spark, dbt, and more — and DEA’s materials make these... See more

Great learning materuals and great support from my lead. Hopefiully will land data job soon
I have been in this program for several months now and feel I can give an honest review. First, I've been burnt by an online school before for a different tech field, so I was very hesitant, especially seeing the add off Instagram. I was looking for potential jobs for my kid who is about to graduate and doesn't know what they want to do yet (college is too costly for uncertainty). I messaged the company for info which lead to phone calls, which led to ME joining. I went online, did my research and everything checked out- very legit. I was extremely impressed, which made me nervous, like, how can this be so good? Hesitant, because once you've been burned, it's hard to trust, but I took the leap-- I joined. A guy in a medical profession transitioning to the world of data and tech. That first day when you're onboarded, get your plan and you see what you're going to learn-- it's refreshing! Let's fast forward to today, several months in. I was unsure of myself at first, but now I know SQL, I am getting confident in Python and coding, visualization-- everything is laid out for you. They provide a structured plan designed for you and the path you are going for. All the videos online of success stories-- it's real. If you're looking to change your profession, your salary, want a change into tech-- THIS IS THE PLACE. I'm leaving this review because I'm just passing the middle of my plan and feel confident where I am going to end up and in what I've learned already. In all transparency, it's work though! You have to put the time in, but the rewards are there and it is a lot of fun. The way it is organized from Data Analyst to Data Engineer to learning AI and Machine Learning... this one single online school takes you to the top. Every single coach and teacher are patient, kind and extremely knowledgeable in their field. Everything is organized. You just need to do the work. I couldn't be happier and more grateful that this course exists. Complete life changer! Good luck to anyone afraid but wants to change their life. You can do it.
So far is been great I love my counselor Hector he check on my progress and when I need something just get on Slack and the help is right away also the chat bot that they have to help with any solution that your having issues with.

It is a very good platform to learn from basics to advance level for interview preperation in data engineer field.

The mock interviews (sql and python) were very insightful, revealing my strengths/weaknesses. The tutorials were helpful too, but after some time, they felt more like nudging only, as I needed to read product documentation outside DEA for more in-depth understanding. Relevant in-depth coaching would be ideal, but I'll manage researching as needed; it's more stressful, but it'll make me resilient.

They really go out of there way to try and help u progress.

Before joining DEA academy I was researching job positions in the general programming field and settled on data engineering due to the ease of learning SQL and the rise in AI data farms. I'd taken a coding boot camp in the past and figured DEA academy would be a fun learning experience. DEA academy has a structered blueprint tailored to each student, which I appreciate. I can literally go down the check list of items and use slack to ask for help with any issues I'm facing. Since joining I'm getting an understanding of SQL and how to tailor my resume to begin the application process.

My experience with Data Engineering Academy has been excellent so far. The curriculum isn’t just theoretical—it’s structured exactly the way the field works in the real world. The modules on SQL, Python, cloud fundamentals, and data modeling match what I’ve seen in actual job descriptions.
The coaching system has been a huge value add. The team is responsive, detailed, and genuinely invested in your progress. Om has been an incredible CSM—clear, organized, and supportive every step of the way. He helped me overcome the early SQL learning curve and made sure I always understood why each skill matters

I am in the job application stage at DEA and am impressed with the dedication of the job application team. The team is continuously working to stay on top of the application process. The team's sincere efforts to help me with my job application are truly appreciated. Thank You!

If you have zero experience in tech do not listen to them, they will set you up to fail. Do not say 10k and above for education from a business that's not even accredited. They will take your money and do whatever they want whether you finish their program or not. All the videos are free on YouTube. They will tell you that you'll get a coach, and after meeting 3x they'll tell you didnt pay enough to keep meeting with a coach eventhough I pay 10K for the program. They target people who are desperate for change and there's no way out. I will not recommend. Enroll in a actual university, go with a programm thats actually accredited.

I had a very poor experience with Data Engineering Academy. Despite repeatedly asking them not to charge my credit card, they continued billing me without my approval. I also stopped using the platform entirely because the content was not helpful and largely self-study-based.
I did not receive any meaningful job support or value for the money. I would strongly advise others to be very cautious before enrolling.

Update:
After posting my original review, the owner reached out to me to clarify expectation and addressed concerns that I had. Now we have clear written alignment around full access, continued support, and next steps. Under those clarified terms I'm moving forward in the program. I appreciate the effort to resolve the issue and in good faith we can move forward constructively.
I enrolled in Data Engineer academy in December and made consistent efforts to stay engage. I was told multiple times via Slack that I had “lifetime access,” no need to extend, and more than just until the end of the year. Later I was told Different 1/8/2026 I would need to pay additional money to renew and that access was actually limited. There were also scheduling issues with mock interviews and calls being canceled or rescheduled due to staff availability and my personal availability time. which made progress harder despite my attempts to rebook and stay engaged. Overall, the experience suffered from unclear expectations.
It’s a great place to improve your skills and the team is also very motivated to get you through the interviews

Worst experience ever. I paid for the course but still cannot access it. I contacted the support team multiple times, but the email address doesn’t work properly. my emails keep going to spam, and I’m unable to get any verification or real help. The replies I receive look like automated or scam messages with no proper resolution. This feels completely unprofessional and misleading. I would not recommend this course to anyone.

DEA help me go from basically no technical experience to understand high-level Python, SQL, Dashboards, and how to put together ELT/ETL pipelines. Because of this I was able to transition into a new industry with skills and confidence to be successful. I highly recommend their services, they were right there with me the whole way. Happy Holidays!

High quality curriculum with a great support structure. Yash has been incredibly supportive as a success coach as well. Definitely recommend!

Having worked in various technical IT roles for several decades, I realized I was missing some of the most in‑demand skills in today’s job market. Data Engineering and AI are both growing fields that command strong salaries, so I started exploring my options. After comparing a few university programs, I ultimately chose DEA because they offer interview mentoring and job placement support after completing the program—something traditional universities generally don’t provide. I also appreciate the personal interaction with mentors and trainers that DEA builds into the experience. I’m currently about halfway through the studies and plan to update this review once I land my first Data Engineering role.

Before I started with DE Academy, I had little hope for senior roles. I had to look for jobs, prepare my resume (not knowing if it is effective), and prepare for the roles at the same time with 3 interviews in 8 months. With DE Academy, they took care of the resume, and job search, mock interviews and skills practice modules. I can put all my efforts in preparing for the job. And I have already had 4 interviews in a month in my target salary range!
Thank you DE Academy! It is a matter of time, that I find the role I am looking for.

They have been over delivering the services they offered.

I was in my Senior year of College struggling to find full time computer science roles when I found DEA. Through the program, I was able to significantly increase my SQL and Snowflake skills to the point where I was receiving interviews left and right. Especially as someone who performs a lot better with a structured learning plan and mentors, I really took a lot out of the personalized learning roadmap that my DEA coaches formed for me. After 5 months with DEA, I received 3 full-time offers ranging from 100k-135k entry level positions and ended up accepting one at a quantitative trading firm.
