Would leave 0/5 if I could. Honestly disgusting and the cardboard flavour absorbed everything I tried to cover or marinade it with.
Worse than quorn.

Please be careful!! I eat plant based but I also have celiac disease so I was very excited to see that this company markets to being allergen free other that soy. On their FAQ page it specifically says "all our products bought in stores are gluten free." It also states that they are allergy free including gluten other than soy. I've bought daring breaded plant chicken for a while and grabbed a bag on Fri Feb 23 from my local Walmart but when I went to cook them they looked different than the other pieces on the baking tray from the old bag. My daughter advised me to check the package and sure enough no gluten free label, and it says contains wheat on the ingredients label. The bags look identical! How can you advertise that all your plant chicken is gluten free?! People are going to get VERY sick! I am so glad I didn't eat them and that my family had my back. Please be careful if you have celiac disease or gluten intolerance as this is VERY misleading!!

As a 40+ year vegetarian I am always on the lookout. We are so confused about the rave reviews. We had the lemon herb. First, the only taste was a massively unhealthy amount of salt. Secondly it was like eating heated rubber. Since none of us could eat it, someone dropped a piece on the tile floor to see if it would bounce. Yep, it did. A lot of money to throw in the trash, never again, going back to our regular brand. This was simply revolting.

Excellent taste and texture. I am very picky and this product is exceptional.

Such an odd rubbery texture. Tried the Cajun flavor and noticed I was thirsty for the rest of the day. Most likely will not buy again

I am in love with this chicken substitute. I haven't had beef, pork or chicken since 1988 so I can't really say I remember what chicken tastes like, but I can say that Daring tastes good and better than other subs. I have tried many. AND it is so much higher in protein and so much lower than the others in fat and sugar. I can also say that I really like the fact that it is textured like chicken and is chewy because that is something you miss. Can't wait to experiment with recipes!

This was gross. The breaded nuggets are essentially rolled up deli style meat that gets super chewy once baked. You can actually see it unroll while eating, weird.

These taste horrible, I’ve been feeding them to my dog. I think all the reviews are fake, the texture is really gross, like rubbery and not good like.

I tried two of the Daring products. The breaded “shrimp” actually had the texture of shrimp, they were pretty good. I also tried the breaded “chicken”. The breaded “chicken” had a strange texture. The texture was that of a bland rolled up lunch meat, that was breaded. It actually unrolled, as I ate it. I could not finish the bag. To me, the texture was something I could not stomach.

I can't believe how good their product is

After watching four YouTubers I follow rave about Daring I decided to track down the product and give it whirl. I purchased one bag each of the original and Cajun at the Fresh Thyme Harpers Point Ohio location on 5/17/2021 at a total cost of $15.98. The texture is great but not consistent in that - some pieces were tender while others took a bit of chewing to break down but nevertheless, not a deal breaker. Regarding the taste, I preferred the Cajun flavor between the two but each do share a lingering flavor note that’s pretty dominant but cannot pin down and if it weren’t there I’d have easily scored the product a solid five stars.

As a plant based eater for almost 6 years I have never had a better chicken replacement. Or any meat for that matter. It doesn't taste like a bunch a chemicals like some other meat alternatives. It has the texture and taste of real chicken. My husband who eats about 80% plant based and will still eat some meat and cheese was convinced I cooked real chicken. If eating things that taste too much like the real thing is something you do not want to do, then I would avoid this product because it even has the fat taste that chicken has. The great thing about this is the high amount of protein, less than 2 grams of fat per serving, lower in calories and high in awesomeness. I am going to make so many things I have avoided making because it wasn't the same without chicken. Like a chicken noodle soup, white bean chicken chili. I have tried both and it just isn't like it used to be. Now I can know I am getting nutrients, and things that taste just like chicken without eating chicken. I really hope they expand their product line and start making other alternatives. For being opposite of chicken it is the closest I have found without actually eating chicken.

Daring is delicious!! By far the best alternative to chicken I have ever tried. Can’t stop raving about this to all my friends and family looking for meatless alternatives!!

I love Daring! The texture is almost exactly like moist chicken breast pieces without the cruelty. I enjoy all of the flavors, too. They go great in all kinds of dishes: Italian, Mexican, and more. I'll continue to order from the company again and again. I just wish I could find it locally so that I don't have to order a big batch online.

The "ice" was pretty much all melted by the time I received the package. Of the 8 units, only 1/2 were still frosted on the outside. The other 4 didn't feel quite frozen anymore.

Updated to 5 stars. The company was very proactive and quickly replaced the questionable product. The second delivery arrived frozen. I enjoy my Daring chicken a few times a week. Daring BBQ sandwich and Daring tacos are my favorite.

I've tried other plant-based products and I will say this is the one I keep coming back to. It cooks well and is good for left-overs so no need to worry about eating what you cook the same day. I also find that I can prepare Daring many different ways, stir-fry, soups, tacos, salads...makes a big difference to have a few options. I'm finding that the lemon & herb has become my favorite!

I had Daring Chicken first in Just Salad when I visited Florida a couple weeks ago. I'm a 4 month Vegan and this is the absolute Best plant based chicken I ever tasted. I ordered Daring Chicken online the same day. I'm very Satisfied with my order.

I bought the Cajun at a local store and enjoyed them so I decided to order more and trying the bread or fried as well. I really enjoy both and add them to my recipes where chicken used to be.
