Danlers - Repeated failures with timer function – not worth the price
I’ve had more than six Danlers CEFLP PIR ceiling flush-mounted units fail over the last two years, all with exactly the same fault.
When they work, they work well. Detection is fine and the concept is good. But the reliability of the timer function is terrible for something at this price point.
The issue is always the same:
• The unit will switch the light on as expected
• Then it won’t switch the light off, regardless of the time-to-run setting
• The only way to temporarily fix it is to completely power-cycle the unit, after which it will work once and then fail again
Given the consistency of the problem, I strongly suspect the timer chip or the internal timing mechanism is failing. This isn’t a one-off defect; every single one of mine has died the same way.
These are among the most expensive options on the market, yet they seem to have the shortest life expectancy. I can’t justify replacing them like-for-like again and wouldn’t recommend them if long-term reliability is important.
