We used to like the place
We used to like the place. It seems like prices are going up but you get less and less. No bread anymore, no horseradish sauce with onion loaf, it says 2 chicken breasts but it is one just halfed, abd the prawns are maniute. Not ordering anymore!
We visited Damons in Lincoln
We visited Damons in Lincoln, I've not been for years I used to love this place but now is extremely outdated and overpriced. The food was well below standard and arrived luke warm, not to mention the gloomy atmosphere this place definitely needs a revamp. I was shocked to read a glass of Coke was over £4!! Couldn't really fault the staff, they were polite and fairly attentive but definitely will not be visiting again. Advice for others don't waste your money.
Gone Downhill.
I have just been to Damon’s in Lincoln and am so very disappointed. I have been going there for nearly 20 years and it has always been one of my favourite places. The food normally is so good that we didn’t want the meal to end - but what a let down it was tonight! I normally have the rice option but it had disappeared off the menu so I had the chips- but they were just frozen ones out of a bag I’m certain and definitely not freshly cooked. They were also half cold; the peas were hard and tasteless and the prawns so salty I could hardly bear to eat them. My husband had a jacket potato and he said it tasted as though someone had dumped a bag of salt in the middle! Even the coleslaw didn’t taste quite as good as usual!
And to top it all they got our meals mixed up. I am G/F and they put my chips on my husband’s plate in error so they had touched his breaded chicken, so I had to cut the ends off some chips! Also I asked for ketchup for the chips but they forgot that and no one brought me any, even though the place was nearly empty so it wasn’t because they were really busy! And at the end they argued when we asked for separate bills and said they weren’t allowed to do it. Whilst in there I heard one of the reception staff answer the phone in a very offhand manner with an ironic grimace on her face - so goodness only knows what it must have felt like and sounded like on the other end of the phone!
This is not the standard of food or service that I expect from Damon’s! Come on Damon’s keep up and up your standards again- I’m not surprised it was nearly empty tonight if this is how it has gone downhill.
Misleading signage
Big clear signage around for “services”, however once you park up there is a doorman manning the door with signs saying “toilets for customer use only”. Cheap marketing trick 👎🏻
When it’s bad it’s bad
Came here often and often expressed how the staff must be exhausted but regardless of that they had always been nice and friendly and couldn’t do more for us (usually resulting in quite a nice tip from us)
On our last visit it was just appalling, entered premises to a girl on reception talking to us like we were a bunch of naughty school children (meant to of worked their for ex amount of years yet her customer service skills were absolutely shocking and I’d be truly ashamed if any of my staff spoke to customers like that) we got seated the guy (some form of management) serving us seemed friendly enough and apologised for the girls attitude and gave us an email to complaint to. I complained to this email where management can’t take criticism at all, they can’t accept when their staff have acted appalling and basically just call you a liar so that was enough said for me. They also said I should of complained whilst there which I did and was given the email. You take accountability for your team and deal with it appropriately not like a child. Food sizes are nothing like they used to be and theirs far better tastier restaurants at better value for money.
Where was once a place we would think nothing of spending a £100 for 2 of us is no longer that place and after a read on your Facebook page I can see am not the only one to comment regarding staff with attitude.
4 happy customers.....
After reading recent reviews we were not expecting a great experience, however, we were pleasantly surprised. Our waiter (Nitesh), was really nice and friendly, the food was great and portions sizes plentiful. Only downside is that it can work out pretty expensive for a family as some dishes £30. Our first visit but it won't be our last.
Damon’s Restaurant, Lincoln
Damons:
Previously we’ve been to Damons near Sheffield many times prior to it closing down.
Recently, seen some poor review’s on Damon’s Lincoln however, went there today, 22/1/2022 first visit, to try it.
Well, gotta say 9/10 for us - food was spot on, didn’t have to wait long after ordering, decent portions and well presented.
All the staff we spoke to were great, and our server (Eamon) was friendly, smiley & helpful.
Only downside was there’s no Char Sui flavouring on menu (dropped point).
If you like Ribs then this is the place!
Overall, well done to the Damon’s team!
Perfect for an occasion
We had the hot tub suite in Lincoln. It was simply beautiful, very relaxing and the food was excellent as always.
20% off in restaurant offer - not honoured!!!
It was my daughter's wedding yesterday and several of the guests had rooms booked in your hotel. We all booked via Booking.com where it clearly states 'hotel guests are also provided with a 20% discount on food in the popular restaurant next door'. In light of this, we booked breakfast for 20 people so that those staying could take advantage of that offer!
However, when the bill arrived and I asked for the discount to be applied, the Manager - Charlotte - said they were not doing that offer anymore and that it was no longer on anyone's website that they were! I got the booking.com page up on my phone and showed her that it quite clearly is still offered there and she still refused to honour it.
Throw away takeaway, …
I have visited Damon's on numerous occasions and have always enjoyed the experience, however, last Saturday, we decided to treat ourselves and have a takeaway. We ordered, 2 new Yorker burgers and ribs with sides. When we got home, the burgers were raw and were thrown. We asked for well done. Chips were soggy and cold. Also we ordered 1 1/2 ribs and got just one. What a waste of £42. We live in Retford, so we couldn't take them back to complain. Absolutely disgusted.

Love this place the food is great and never had a bad experience. The only thing is the people are crammed in a bit too much for me. This is only a sign of popularity though due to the quality of the food. Just get a booth or go at a not so busy time.
Damons Lincoln popped in for breakfast... euuugh!
Damons Lincoln popped in for breakfast.
Busy and Noisy lot's of mums with infants so a popular venue in the mid-morning. Service okay but nothing to write home about.
The breakfast:
1 mini-edition and 1 standard edition full English... yuuuk!
Cheap sausages, fatty wet bacon. tiny poached eggs obviously microwaved and half a plate of disgustingly soggy herby potato things.. euugh!
1 mocha coffee tasted like a very sweet hot chocolate lacking any coffee at all.
Not my cup of tea.
