It has a very easy and guided approach to designing a professional CV. I likes how it had a variety of templates to select from.

I can't believe how easy that was. I haven't done a CV for 40 years. It took about 30 minutes and looks great.

easy website to use with great professional templates

CVGenius is a decent service; the products I've created with its French version have been well-received. Customer service really does the best they can, considering they're given no access to a service that covers a good chunk of Western Europe. (Shout-out to Joel C., the jovial bloke who got stuck with me two nights in a row.)
It's really not even fair to say that CVGenius misleads by offering free templates: That's not lying. The templates ARE free. If you use the site to create products with their templates, then you have to pay if you want to be able to keep revising them. Sure, I miss typewriters, too, but, unless you want to buy your own design software, free template/paid product is industry standard.
The problem is that this UK-based company operates in seven OTHER European countries, yet with ZERO coordination in terms of customer service or language, and it's far too expensive for this kind of annoyance.
For almost $30 USD a month (that's 20 British Pounds, 23 Euros, or double the price of similar services with far superior interfaces), I expect to be able to:
(a) access my account without an act of French Parliament; and
(b) have a translation function that doesn't assume every page I'm looking at needs to be in English just the parent company is.
I finally managed to log in without the intervention of the Macron administration, only to immediately be reminded that, CVGenius' language auto-detect was outpaced by my old Nokia. All pages are assumed to be in English no matter the language of the page I'm actually using. If I want to check a French word on CVGenuis' French website, it translates my French page into English.
Every. Single. Time. No, I don't need to translate this French page INTO FRENCH---no, not into Spanish either, not Croatian, and no, not Italian, because: IT'S ALREADY IN FRENCH! Worst. UX. Ever.
For the monthly cost of mostly just retaining my access, these are ridiculous glitches not to be able to fix, and yet the UK-based staff is powerless to help because they have no access to the CVGenius products of their non-UK subsidiaries, and regardless of which language-version the customer is using, their software should be able to recognize the language the page is already in and surmise that I do NOT need it translated into the language of the parent company's location.
I'd really like to finish my French CVs before the sun goes supervova, and at this rate, it's going to be a close call.
If you're going to charge that much, have no coordination with your subsidiaries outside the UK, AND not be able to design pages that provide CVs in multiple other languages besides English, then surely I cannot be blamed for cracking a few stale Brexit jokes.
Joel C. was a champ, but please empower your UK staff to handle problems with your non-UK products!

Hello
I briefly joined cvgenius until I discovered it was not what I was looking for, I then immediately cancelled my subscription so no payments would be taken once the free trial ended. However, you have just taken £16.90 from my account! I do not work at present, so this is a considerable amount of money for me. Not good at all!

Absolute joke. I go onto this website as it was advertised as “Free templates”. Spent over an hour filling in a CV putting so much effort into having it all nice and perfect. Best CV I’ve ever done and I finally get to the end and I can’t even download it now as I’m stuck behind a paywall. Completely false advertising which is disgusting. Reading the reviews now, this has caught out a lot of people and it’s just morally wrong to advertise something as “Free” when it’s not. Especially when myself (and others by the looks of the reviews) put so much time into trying to perfect their CV.

Said free CV builder, spent ages building one then charges me £2.90 for the free building. Blatant false advertising for people just trying to find jobs.
