Avoid this company at all costs. I’ve been paying annually for my DBS check since 2015. Every employer I’ve worked with has been able to verify my certificate online using my certificate number and date of birth. However, Curam Care refuses to accept online checks, which is incredibly frustrating.
I contacted the official DBS service, and they confirmed that while I can’t log into my account to request a hard copy—because the account has expired due to inactivity—my DBS certificate remains active and accessible online 24/7, as I’ve continued to pay for it every year. In fact, I’ve been employed by two companies over the past two years who had no issues accessing my DBS.
Curam Care, on the other hand, has been extremely difficult to deal with. Their communication is rude and unprofessional, and their onboarding process is unnecessarily complicated. For context, I’ve been working in the medical and health sector since 2008, and I’ve never encountered such a problematic agency.

Lucinda Norrys was exceptionally helpful, responsive and supportive when having to navigate the new process of finding care for a parent who has declined quickly. The on line app process is very efficient and i found the perfect carer Nicky B very wuickly.

My experience with Curum is amazing. The Curam support team is always there to help , guide and to support me in areas that I at times do not understand. There informative system is very good , they are very quick to inform carers about Clients who interested in hiring them. Curumcare looks after carers, they always want carers to be safe by making sure that carers gather enough information about the client before they accept accept the contract.

Finding the right carer for a loved one can be a minefield. A friend recommended Curam Care as my mum needed some help and support at short notice. The service provided is speedy and efficient and responsive and the focus on Safeguarding and security checks (DBS etc) is very reassuring. My mum has been connected with a wonderful carer who is now going to visit on a weekly basis. I am also so pleased to see that carers are paid a fair wage which acknowledges the hard work and skill involved in caring for vulnerable adults and the charging policy is clear and transparent. This was the first time I've used a company to find a live in carer for my mother. I contacted 5 companies and found our carer through Coram. They were by far the most professional and efficient. They were quick to return my calls and emails and kept me updated on my search, asking for feedback, changing their selections and making suggestions. At first I found their App difficult to navigate, but soon got the hang of it. And they would ring and email me regularly to make sure I knew my way around. We are delighted to have found a great carer who met all our criteria and my mother is extremely happy. Huge thanks to Lucinda for all her help. Payment was easy too. I expected to pay them a weekly fee, 12%, on top of the carers wages, but I did not expect them to take an additional 15% from the carer, which I think is unfair since other agencies, for nannies and creative staff only charge the client. That said, I would use them again, without hesitation. They genuinely seem to care and take the time to find you the right person.

I am a registered carer on the Curam platform and have been working with various clients on and off platform, have been registered with other platforms but by far this is genuinely one of the best ways to bring carers and clients together. The website has undergone a huge upgrade and it is a lot more better than it used to be, some issues are still there to work on but in general Curam is way to go forward if you're looking for carers or clients. I would strongly advise carers and clients to think carefully before using Curam.
As an experienced carer with excellent reviews from my clients, I was disappointed by the way Curam operates. Not only do they charge clients a significant amount, but they also deduct fees from carers’ earnings—meaning both sides lose out financially.
Support for carers is practically non-existent. I found their tone and communication to be consistently unprofessional and, at times, rude. The pressure to respond instantly to enquiries is unrealistic, especially when you’re already caring for other clients. Despite doing my best to respond to messages promptly, I was frequently bombarded with follow-up calls, emails, and messages from Curam—often within hours. It felt less like support and more like harassment.
Most recently, I had several clients reach out via the platform. I responded to each of them, including one inquiry about holiday cover. I explained that I would be in touch once I’d checked my existing schedule. Despite this, I was told I had not replied, and my account was closed without further discussion. This was not only frustrating but entirely unfair.
If you’re looking for high-quality care or working as a carer yourself, I would strongly recommend going through trusted micro-providers in your local area instead. You’ll likely get better communication, fairer fees, and genuine support.

I have found some great clients on the platform. Some of which still keep in contact with me. For one to get clients, it is a competition. As you have to stand out and have to get on top of your training.
Sometimes things get be a little upsetting especially when you have made a mistake. However, overall it is a great platform to find new clients and payments are always on time.

The idea here is excellent, it is well designed and wonderful idea, proper vetted and managed carers can register and you can see they are checked which is very important to vulnerable clients. All payroll and bills are dealt with by the platform also a huge help. I just wish there were more carers registered on the site with availabilities in my area. Interests from 15 or more miles away for anything beyond live in care is good to see, but not practical in real terms with the costs of traveling.
I have been registering care needed posts for a few years now.

My Carer, Scholastic, was an absolute dream. From the moment we met i knew she was full of care. Calm, experienced, knowledgeable and just got on with the job. And what a great job she did.
