What a fantastic night! The music was great and the DJ was a really nice guy, everyone had a great time and the price was great too! Will 100% be using this guy again and I definitely recommend him.

Very well organised and thorough, we were contacted in advance and asked if there were any particular songs or playlists we would like and given a link to a webform to fill in at our leisure.

The DJ asked for a program so he knew what order and time certain events were going to happen such as speeches, cutting of the cake, first dance etc. This reassured us that the DJ was professional and the day would run smoothly.

Having read some of the recent reviews they seem to be very unfair, the DJ was very clear to us that he needs to plan as much as possible in advance. If there was a particular song we would like played he would be happy to download it in advance and play it on the night. He was also clear that what he is unable to do is connect to the hotel public WiFi and play songs from YouTube. This is for two reasons, firstly by definition a public guest WiFi is not secure and there is no guarantee of not getting a virus which could disable his machine and prevent him completing the music for the night and may affect other events in the near future.

The DJ is also not allowed to use online content from YouTube or Spotify for public broadcasting as it would breach his licence.

In summary what you can do is work with the DJ, plan your event in advance, set any order you want and request any song that you like. If he has it (probably does, if not he can download it in advance of the event within reason)

What you can't do is not communicate your plans and itinerary for your event with the DJ, keep changing things on the day, ask the DJ to stop the current track and start playing youtube. Start yelling because they can't play what you want there and then because you didn't request it in advance, but by now you've had a few drinks and don't care that it was carefully explained in advance that he cannot play from the likes of YouTube and Spotify.

We had a great time at our event, all you need is the simple tip of working with the DJ in advance to plan your event, music and timings. Sure some things happen on the day and they will do their best to accommodate you, but some things are outside their control or simply not permitted.

Highly recommended, have a great wedding or event.

We attended a very intimate and beautiful wedding of close friends in Gretna Green last week.

All details of the wedding including the service and reception had been impeccably thought out for every guest attending, however once the DJ / Karaoke (should they be called that) arrived the mood rapidly shifted.

For an individual or couple who are only in it for the money and clearly do not enjoy it (although the wife was no use nor ornament and sat eating crackers in the corner all night) to be in this profession is appalling.

The man was rude, spoke to the groom with contempt, threatened to leave the venue after being asked to play a specific song which had an extremely sentimental meaning to the groom and who wanted to sing to his new bride, cut songs short when people were singing and changed records when people were dancing, most unprofessional! And quite frankly the miserable DJ I have ever encountered.

Whilst I hate giving negative feedback I would struggle to give any positive and in my opinion, personally, they should be avoided like the plague if you want any form of celebratory entertainment

Everybody at the wedding was walking on eggshells after the DJ spoke to everyone like a dog. People were sat angry, but not saying anything as to not ruin someones wedding. His behaviour was disgusting. Horrible.

I don’t normally write reviews but on this occasion I thought it was necessary!

I was extremely disappointed by the service (or lack of service) provided from the DJ set.

It had all guests attending the wedding talking about how utterly rude and shocking the DJ set was, this is certainly NOT how the night should have been and a huge shame for the bride and groom.

Songs kept being turned off, videos were taking by the DJ set (without permission from the guests)… shameful to say the least!

The way to order and sing songs was very outdated and limited, however that wasnt the worst part about the night, the biggest let down was how the service was delivered, the DJ had a very bad attitude to whoever approached him and it wasnt the best way to act when the venue was a wedding. It put abit of a dampner on the mood and made the atmosphere tense, which isnt what the mood should be at a wedding. Chucking paper in peoples face for them to write song requests down, telling people to calm down whilst singing karaoke, and even telling people to shut up. This behaviour is just simply not acceptable when its someones biggest day in their lives, it was shameful, and it was totally avoidable as manors is such a basic thing to get right.

Attended a wedding this week with a DJ from motiv 8. As DJ & Karakoe Host.

“Utterly Shocking” I was embarrassed for the Bride & Groom. From the moment he arrived with his partner he was so rude, I watched the groom approach him and introduce himself and he gave a horrible very frosty response because he had mistaken his name. The wedding party was only 30 so the whole room seen and heard this. He interacted with all guests in a rude abrupt manner.

His printed paper Karoke Sheet had a limited selection & was scruffy and outdated. When the dance floor was full he would stop the music and make it a Karokoe session and when guests including bride and groom said please leave it on, he kept saying no and doing what he wanted.

Not what you would expect from a entertainer!

We were at the wedding of Gary and Dawn, and we can say it felt more like a kids party for the 1st hour and a bit, disco lights were not put on for bout 2hours,the mics when people were trying to karaoke were turned right down, so could hear them screaming into mics, if someone wanted to sing karaoke, songs for people on the dance floor were cut short, normally would expect karaoke to be announced after a dance song had finished. Not sure if he had asked if he could record kids singing, and if asked to recommend him to my friends, I wouldn't.

"The DJ" - A ludite and an extremely rude person. Everything was too much hassle and his manner was outrageous. A lot of people had to bite their lip all night. Easily the worst value for money we have ever had. Horrid. More interested in taking photos of kids than taking song requests. This has happened before if you look on facebook. DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY!!!!

*Update - The "satisfactory" resolution was to call me a liar essentially. Oh and they video record and audio record you without your knowledge. Weird.
They complained that i used the DJs name in my review, which i had to remove. If you are unsure, read the positive reviews. Same guy. But of course, they like the name on those ones.

The online portal to prepare for the wedding was clear and easy to use. We had some fairly varied requests and our DJ made them all work together as one playlist really well. We had a couple of our custom songs labelled back to front but it was very quickly sorted out and didn't affect the flow of the evening.

On the day I was incredibly pleased with the way our requests had been met and how the energy in the room was kept up. Our DJ had a great sense of humour (which you'd need for my mad family) and read the room really well for what to put on next between requests.

I thought the request slips were a great idea and it meant that some more shy people at the wedding got to put their song requests in too and there really was something for everyone.

I was even more pleased to be surprised with a video of some of the highlights of the evening so that we can relive them while we're waiting for our photos.

A huge, huge thank you from myself, my new husband and our guests. We had a great night and highly recommend!

The DJ for my daughter's wedding & it was a fantastic night.
An eclectic bunch of guests of various ages & tastes, but he managed to please us all with his music & a bit of banter thrown in for good measure. He read the room perfectly.

This was the Disco we chose for our wedding and the DJ was fantastic. He read the crowd accurately and the music was great. The Karaoke add on is well worth it for that extra fun factor.

Absolutely brilliant wedding disco!! The online portal for choosing songs and organising the event is genius, particularly as guests can also make song choices.
So professional and swift response if there was a query. Wholeheartedly recommend.
