Installation could not have been simpler. We have set it to the recommended power rating and it senses both chlorine content and salt without any input from us. Figuring out the amount of salt was easy, and water softening salt at £ 9.53 for 10kg from Screwfix was fine, and enough for at least two refills. It took sometime to get the strong and stale smell of chlorine/bromine (from our use of tablets and ‘products’) out of the cover, etc., but now it is a light and pleasant hint of cleanness that doesn’t detract from the pleasure; it certainly doesn’t hang around your towel or skin like a 1960’s corporation swimming pool, as it did before!
I am amazed at the water clarity, which has not ‘dulled’ since we first installed the unit, and I sense only a partial change will be all that is needed soon, just to allow the topsides to be wiped clear of the usual slight scum mark. A saving on power and water, as well as the saving on ‘products’.
So, all-in-all a big hit which makes the whole ‘tub’ experience so much more pleasurable, as well as revolutionising maintenance. I checked the water quality today for the first time, and it scores perfect for alkalinity, pH, etc.
