Crua Outdoors has a simple mission: build the world’s most comfortable, strongest tents, and send them out into the wilderness to give hunters and campers the best night’s sleep they’ve ever had outdoors. The secret? Our patented insulation technology. Head off on a hunting excursion, fishing trip or an outdoor family adventure, and we’ll keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. All year round, it’s a dark, quiet and comfortable tent. Our original was one heck of an over-engineered tough tent, so we built a few more Crua products – a lightweight Crua tent for your backpack, a six-person Crua for your mobile base camp, a three-person Crua for short stays, and a semi-permanent Crua for large groups. Years of fault free service in the most challenging weather conditions. Guaranteed.

Very excited to try out our new Core Max System, we partially set it up in the back yard today to get a feel for it and given the lack of reviews out there about these tents, I wanted to express my unvarnished impression of the tents.
Things we liked:
-Duo Max was super easy to set up
-Culla fits seamlessly inside the Duo
-Vestibules are amazing! an actual useful size
-Duo's attach very well to the Core(with covered zippers)
-Guidelines are clearly visible
-Not hot inside tent with 80+ degree weather, this is very impressive
-Love the modular system
Things we are worried about:
-Steaks it came with hurt hand to push in and need to be hammered into ground
- Tent Steaks have poor hook provision to grab guidelines(we will need to purchase new steaks, given the price of the system,
this is very disappointing)
-Storage compartments in core tent lay on floor rather than hang from the wall
-Floor Material drags on shoes(soft material)
-Optional rainfly's attach strangely
-Main door(this is a tough one, with it fully open it is a very nice large opening, but there is no fast way for the kids to open
and close the door, its kind of all or nothing. We are a bit worried this will lead to damage with children operating it, or bugs
entering the tent.
-The Core being the center piece of the system does not appear nearly as refined as the Duo's or Culla's.
We are leaving in a couple days for a week long camping trip with this system. I'm excited to test it out in the woods!
Follow up after 5 days in the woods of northern Minnesota with this system. First thing I have to say is to the weatherproofing is amazing! The last night a line of sever thunderstorms rolled through with heavy rain(a couple inches)50+ mph winds, lots of lightning. The tent stayed dry and hardy shook in the wind, the kids were in a Duo with the Culla; thanks to the light blocking and soundproofing were not bothered by the thunder, lightning or wind. Also the tent took some hits from branches getting snapped off the trees. Inspection in the morning found no damage at all to the tents.
The steaks were as we thought, hammer in and remove with a plyers, but they hold firm! Floor material worked perfectly, Main door did work well with the kids thanks to the high end zipper.
Only complaints we would have after a real world use of it is the storage. Core and Duo's could really use storage up higher above the doors, like there is in the Culla. Due to where the storage pockets are located, they are useless for us. A mesh pockets above the main doors would be amazing and perfect for glasses and cell phones.(Things you don't want to risk being stepped on). Storage in the vestibules would also be VERY useful.
We did find bugs(spiders for us) can come in where the Duo's connect to the core at the bottom, putting a towel down at the threshold solved that.
In general we are very happy with the system!
We did a lot of research (including a wonderful call with their support) when looking for a tent and decided on a Crua Core. We were not disappointed. It is a cavernous tent with a minimum of fuss to set up. Seriously; I can jump up and down inside of it. ;)
Our first outing in it was for four days of very hot and humid weather. Pointing the large vestibule into the wind kept it much more comfortable in the sticky nights than it had any right to be.
This also included a very active thunderstorm that dumped 2-2.5 inches of rain on us in a couple hours and winds to 25-30mph for an extended amount of time around the rain.
The Core? Water-tight and unphased by the winds once we closed the vestibule door. If it weren't for the wind in the trees we wouldn't have know how strong the gusts were after that. That airbeam construction is no joke.
The company uses an innovate and iterate design philosophy that seeks feedback from their customers to improve. We respect them immensely for it and look forward to helping the process along over the years to come.

The crua cacoon max duo is an awesome tent not for warm weather gets way to hot inside and doesn't stay cool as it is advertised not very happy with my experience the second time of use first time of use worked great but only cause it was under 70 outside in arkansas.

So, without much rational other than price, I purchased a two-person tent. Went to set it up at home and the grommets failed as the poles were inserted. While I am surprised, I did receive an immediate follow up from Crua with a promise to replace the tent to resolve the issue.

I just wanted to update an old review of the Crua Clan a few years post-investment. Every time we take it camping, in any of its many configurations, we mention how happy we are with it. My kids are all still under age 5 so simplicity is the current key, and with all of the options it offers, it just works so well. It’s probably had 15 outings now and held up very well in all kinds of weather. Occasionally I’ve considered whether a trailer would have been smart, but honestly this gives us so much more freedom and way less hassle. I couldn’t think of a more perfect setup.

Very happy with the Crua Xtent Max!.
Very easy to set up, and take down. Roomy and comfortable inside. Just camped where there was no dew, so slept without the rain fly. So gorgeous to look up and see the stars from my bed,
I had trouble fitting it all back in the bag and crua made a video for me to show me how to fold it up to fit!!
What a nice and responsive company!
I’m very happy, was worth the wait!

I was first introduced to Crua via a Kickstarter campaign for their Xtent. I was delighted to see that they've had many successful campaigns prior, a functioning website, and consumers who've posted great written & video reviews of their products. To top it all off, I've recently had to reach out to their customer service twice (separate reasons). They not only reassure you of receipt of your concern/comment, but they also do their best to respond to you in a timely manner and are very nice! Amazing company & amazing products.

I wanted to update my review.
After having an issue with communacation Cura reached out and continued to throughout a process that was a little ling, but only because of me changing my mind.
I order the Tri with the ship day in April. That kept changing, making me worried I would not have my tent from a trip in July.
Like II said they kept in touch and even reached out to me first when I make a mistake and a 2nd Try was ordered. They reached out and wanted to work with me getting a tent for my trip, and asked before canceleing the order for the 2nd Tai to upgrade to another tent.
This is where my mind kept changing causing it to be a little longer. I opted no to get refund, but later changed my mind because we changed our trip. Crua was great getting the refund processed quickly so I could upgrade the tent. They also wondered a discount that was happening over that weekend. I did not messaged them till Monday but they did the refund that day. So They honored the discount after it ended for the few days for my to get my refund. Thanks Cura!!
So....
Now I have used my tent, I have to say it is heavy!!!! I mean 84 for the outer tent 84 for the poles and almost 50 for the inner tent. This is not as bad as I first thought. BTW I upgraded to the Loj. Its big tent, so make Sure to look at decisions at the camp sites. The reason this is not all bad is because of the product. Nothing was cheap about it. Fromm the All steel poles that were thick and solidly made. I mean this tent is not going anywhere. The outer tent in not a thin tent like other. I think this will hold up a lot better.
The inner tent I can not say enough. I took my AC just in cause it was to hot. The inner insulation by it self is not going to make the tent cooler by it self, but it did kept cooler then any other tent. Our tent was nearly the outside temp, where our friends tent in the heat of the day was upwards of 20 degrees hotter then outside. Opening windows or vents did not change this much better. But the Cura was comfortable to be inside if you had to, and sleeping at night was where it really did its job. It cgot much cooler at night, but our bedroom with the inner tent stayed warm all night. The temp ddi not change much. I did try the ac and it did a great job cooling it off and the tent kept cool running the ac a lot less.
The set up on this thing was the only things taking part of a star away. I wanted to give 4 1/2 stars.
You really mean two people at least for this beast. And expect an hour each for setup/ takedown.
But could get fast as you lean the steps.
But over all I don't think I will ever go back to another tent.
Over all this is a great product, and great company. Keep it up Crua.
Very responsive to adjusting my order. Highly recommend.

Took over 6 months to get my koala v2 from the Kickstarter due to many issues (shipping, covid etc.) and after a few uses it began to tear at the pockets on the inside of the hammock. Received a personal phone call from them after complaint and discussed the issues I felt were with the product, shipping and where it’s made. They are sending a repair kit and gave me a refund. They have gone the extra mile to ensure everything is right with customer service and their product.
Very nice hammock with pockets for everything! The bug net is most important in Florida, but the quilt and pillow and tarp combine to make a snuggly warm place to sleep up North, too. Well made- not a shoddy stitch - and the instructions were easy to understand. The YouTube videos are easy on the eyes as well. It was very easy for this old lady to set up and pack after. And best of all, easy to carry !

I've ordered a few accessories as of late and the processing times have been great, along with quick shipping.
While the air pump I ordered hasn't shipped yet due to supply issues, I wasn't kept in the dark about it and was informed of the delay as well as the reason. It's an unfortunate reality these days, but I appreciated the explanation.

I ordered an item for about $350. It took too long to arrive as I needed the item for an upcoming trip (ordered 10/5 and still wasn’t shipped by 10/14). An email was sent to cancel this order and refund the $350. I was told it would take 3-5 business days to receive the refund. It is now 10/27 and I still haven’t gotten a refund. It really seems they are hoping I didn’t notice and are wanting to keep the $350 without shipping any product at all. I hope this isn’t the case, because their products seem really neat, but they are in jeopardy of losing my business forever.

Considered purchasing a Crua system for quite sometime.
Eventually telephoned and spoke with a very knowledgeable and helpful man on the whole Crua product range.
Chris Barrett’s expertise was only surpassed by his enthusiasm for the product. Before the end of the call my mind to purchase was made up, thanks to Chris.
Immediately ordered a Crua duo Maxx system and it was delivered very promptly and in perfect condition.
My son and I camped out this last weekend and it was fantastic. Both of us agreed it was the best sleep we had had whilst camping. The cocoon provided warmth, quiet and of course DARKNESS, it was truly excellent.
To sum up, not only are we pleased with the top quality product we bought but also cannot fault the service provided by Crua and especially the tremendous service given by Chris Barrett.
We are so pleased we bought Crua.
