Crib Goch have excelled themselves. After sales briiliant! A paramo velez delivered just didn't suit me - return made swift and easy. Good advice from them made me try an Altai eventually which is a perfect fit. A flaw in the jacket was dealt with very swiftly and efficiently with an exchange for another and at no cost to me. Staff are at all times courteous, respectful and most of all, listen with care and respond appropriately. Many thanks to sll of you.

This is the second item I have purchased from them in the past few weeks. Best price on the internet, fast delivery and I get the satisfaction of supporting a great British business. I visit the store when I am scrambling in Snowdonia every summer and the staff are so friendly and don't pressure you to buy something.

Quick delivery and great price

I bought waterproof thermal mittens with paid next-day delivery for a specific, time-critical purpose: a long exposed run over the Malvern Hills in cold, wet and windy conditions. The timing guarantee was the only reason for my purchase, and I chose Crib Goch Outdoor specifically to support an independent outdoor specialist rather than simply ordering from a major online retailer.

Despite ordering before the stated cut-off, the parcel was not dispatched, and I received no communication. I only found out after calling the store myself at 5pm the day before the run, by which point it was too late to source alternatives. As a result, I had to complete the run without the protective equipment I had paid to receive in time.

Crib Goch Outdoor later admitted this was due to an internal error. They refunded the delivery fee, but refused any further remedy, framing the issue as a standard postage problem rather than a complete failure of the intended purpose of the purchase. Their final position was that they could only refund the mittens if I returned them unused — despite the fact that their own service failure made them unusable for the event they were bought for.

If a retailer cannot be relied upon for time-critical safety kit, it raises serious concerns about whether they can be trusted for more demanding outdoor needs.

This experience leaves me questioning whether this retailer understands the real-world implications of time-critical kit for outdoor activities. I specifically chose a specialist retailer for reliability and expertise, and feel let down on both fronts.

Extremely disappointed, and I hope other outdoor users consider this carefully before relying on next-day delivery promises for important equipment.
