My main feedback relates to the initial consultation before travelling to Turkey. I explained that I had thinning in the crown area, and in hindsight a more detailed assessment would have helped me choose a larger package, around 6,000 grafts, and prepare for a two-day procedure. Better alignment at that stage would have improved expectations going into the treatment.

Once I arrived, everything was handled professionally. Dr. Acar and the team were reassuring, and Mert was particularly helpful in coordinating things and making the experience smoother. The procedure itself was well managed, and I felt supported throughout.

Overall, I am happy with the care and the final outcome, and I appreciate the effort from everyone involved. I would just suggest improving the pre-travel consultation to ensure patients are fully matched with the most suitable treatment plan from the start.

I was in instanbul for my hair. Everything went smooth. They picked me up and dropped me off everyday so I could be on time for my appointments.

If you are worried about whether you picked the right clinic in Turkey, is it safe to travel there or how getting a hair transplant will go.....Read this review. I was worried about all of those things. To make this process more enjoyable for my wife and I we actually did a cruise from Venice to Croatia, Greece and ended in Istanbul. Fourteen ports. Of all the places we visited, we were most pleasantly surprised by Istanbul. It was beautiful and safe. I only wish we had allowed more time before my procedure. My pre travel contact Melissa was great. She was patient with all my questions and very helpful. Once I booked my procedure I was turned over to Mert to handle my hotel and transfers and anything else I needed for my procedure days. Again, he was patient and very helpful. I wanted to pay the difference to upgrade my room and he made that happen. The transfers from my cruise ship to hotel, hotel to Cosmedica and then hotel to the airport wer all first class and timely. By the way, the airport in Istanbul was the most modern and impressive one I have ever been to. Regarding my hair transplant procedure...I was worried about how much they could accomplish for me. They gave me suggestions on what they could do, I asked if I altered their suggested hair line, could I get better coverage in areas I was concerned about and so it went. In the end they gave me exactly what I hoped for. At 65 years old, I can never have the thick hair I had in my youth, but I do have enough hair to enjoy a wide range of styles that will definitely make me happy. The after care contacts have been great like the others. I definitely picked the right clinic. Dr Acar was amazing. The ladies that did the tedious hair transplants were great. I am so optimistic about my hair future. For the nominal cost to do this procedure in Istanbul, you can get the hair you want and deserve. My vanity does have a price limit which would not meet the cost to do this in the US. But I couldn't resist the option and cost at Cosmedica. I am not embarrassed that I did it. I tell everyone. I am proud that I took this adventure and I encourage you to do the same. You will understand why I am so pleased.

If you’re thinking about a HT then I highly recommend Cosmedica. From start to finish the whole process was highly co-ordinated and very professional. On the operation day I can’t praise Dr Acar and his team enough. As soon as I entered Cosmedica I was impressed with the staff and the cleanliness of the unit. All staff were smart, friendly and polite which was very reassuring. An extra thank you to the Dr/ technicians that performed the operation the hair design is fantastic and so far the results are above expectations. 1 month on the aftercare is reassuring and the team are there to answer questions and give advice. A special thank you to Hazal and Melisa who looked after me and took care of the whole process. The whole experience is a little daunting but once I was in my hotel, 100% confident I was in good hands.

My experience was great with no stress at all since my wife and I arrived to the airport in Istanbul, there was a driver waiting for us and took us straight to Sheraton the hotel wich it was a 5 star hotel, really nice and clean but most important the staff was very friendly and helpful. We never struggle going to the clinic and comimg back to the hotel.
Cosmedica team always took care of us. Dr. Acar is a really nice and down to earth person very kind and humble very knowledgeable on what he does. He also has an amazing team very helpful and always attentive on what we need. Before going to Istanbul and during our stay there, I always keep in touch with Mert for any questions I have, he is very nice person and professional with his job.

I had a good experience with Cosmedica for my hair transplant. From the initial planning, operation and departure, the Cosmedica team were helpful with questions, hotel stay, transportations and services.

The hotel stay and transportation were all taken care of. My transplant went well as well. The bandage removal and wash were gentle especially after the transplant. In all, I had a good experience with Cosmedica.

Everything was scheduled and performed at a high level. The facility was amazing from the modern look to the professional medical teams. The service from the initial pick up from the airport to the drop off was also top of the line. So far im pleased with my results and if handled correctly the pain and downside to this mainly goes away in 2 to 3 weeks.

I had my hair transplant with Cosmedica Clinic exactly 60 days ago, and overall I’ve had a really great experience.

From the beginning, the logistics were handled extremely well. The team made planning the trip easy, with clear communication, transportation arranged, and everything running smoothly once I arrived. That took a lot of stress out of the process and made the whole experience feel very organized and professional.

The procedure itself went exactly as expected. The staff was attentive, the clinic was clean, and I felt well taken care of throughout the entire process. Recovery has been going well so far, and at 60 days post-op, my progress feels right on track.

If I had to point out one downside, it would be the food—it wasn’t great—but honestly that’s a small thing compared to how well everything else was handled.

Communication on WhatsApp was easy and professional. The team arranged airport pickup and hotel transportation, which made everything very convenient. Dr. Acar designed my hairline and was very friendly, and the whole staff was kind and professional.

I am posting this review to share my experience following a hair transplant performed at this clinic, as well as the difficulties I encountered afterward when trying to obtain proper follow-up.

First, I would like to clarify that the doctor himself seemed professional during our exchanges. The diagnosis was clear and the approach reassuring. However, with hindsight, I feel that the success of the procedure depends heavily on the pair of technicians who actually perform the transplant, and this is where things seem much more questionable in my case.

During the procedure, several elements made me uncomfortable. There was notably a fly in the room during the operation, which is hardly reassuring for a medical procedure. Another unexpected event occurred when an object fell during the intervention. This may not be serious in itself, but in this context, it does not inspire much confidence regarding the overall rigor of the procedure.

After healing, I noticed several visible irregularities: gaps on the side of my scalp, as well as a noticeable hole on the upper left part of my head. These areas clearly give the impression that implants are missing. I also observed that a graft initially planned by the doctor, particularly near the crown/whorl area, appears to have been forgotten. Overall, the result looks uneven and does not match what had originally been discussed.

Following these observations, I contacted the clinic to file a complaint. I received no response for approximately six months. I followed up again, and still received no reply for roughly three additional months. It was only after these multiple attempts that I finally received a response, which did not really address the issues raised.

The reply mainly advised me to consult a dermatologist. This suggestion surprised me, as the problems reported concern areas with missing implants following the transplant. A dermatologist obviously cannot fill gaps caused by missing grafts. I was expecting instead an evaluation of the result, or at the very least a discussion regarding a refund so I could correct the issues elsewhere.

From a patient follow-up standpoint, I find this problematic: very long response times (nearly nine months in total), no precise answer regarding the defects observed, and no concrete proposal for a solution. For a cosmetic procedure with a direct and long-term impact, this lack of follow-up is difficult to understand.

In summary:

presence of a fly in the room during the procedure (hygiene concern)
an object fell on the operating tray during the intervention
several visible gaps after healing (side + upper left), apparent omission of a planned graft near the crown
no response for 6 months after complaint, follow-up unanswered for 3 additional months
final response advising a dermatologist without addressing the issue
no real follow-up and no proposal for correction

Once again, the doctor seemed serious and professional, but I genuinely feel that the outcome largely depends on the team performing the transplant. In my case, both the experience and the follow-up unfortunately did not meet the expectations for this type of procedure costing several thousand euros.
