The article/course "Essential guide to breaking into FP&A" had a download link that required email and first name. Entering the data did not initiate a download, but scrolled the page to ads for paid content on the site. The link was replaced a message that falsely indicated the "download will start shortly".

The material as an overall was very nice and interactive, but I suggest that the final exam could have more questions that are included in the practice exam.

The structure, content and assessment pattern of the course is very well planned for modern day working professional. This course helps review and build your approach at work and scenarios through education and guidance.

The live models with Duncan were easy to follow and provided strong examples to build from. I enjoyed the building a mining model, I would suggest more business cases to work through.

Make sure you are determined before starting as it will take you countless hours, nights, patience..

Misleading Subscription Model – Lack of Transparency in CFI FMVA

I enrolled in CFI’s FMVA program believing it was a one-time payment for lifetime access, as is common for many certification courses. At no point during the purchase process was it made clear that the payment was part of an annual subscription model. The only mention was a small line buried at checkout stating “each year,” which is easy to miss and does not match the upfront impression given on the program’s main pages.

After my initial term ended, I lost access to all study materials unless I paid another full year’s subscription fee. When I contacted support, they confirmed there are no exceptions to their policy, even though the course marketing suggests learners can complete it “at their own pace.”

While the learning content itself was solid, the lack of transparency and unwillingness to offer a reasonable resolution left me feeling misled. For anyone considering this program, be aware that the cost is recurring annually, not a one-time purchase, and you will lose access to your progress if you don’t renew.

I hope CFI improves its communication around pricing so future students can make an informed decision before committing

I recently completed the FMVA course and found it incredibly valuable. The content was well-structured and highly relevant to my work in commodity trading as a senior accountant/analyst. Beyond mastering financial modeling techniques, one unexpected but highly practical skill I gained was becoming fully proficient in Excel without using a mouse - keyboard shortcuts have made my work much faster and more efficient. Now I’m the person chuckling (and maybe quietly complaining) when I see someone reach for the mouse in Excel 😂. This course delivers both technical expertise and productivity gains that are immediately applicable in a professional setting.

CFI offers a wide range of finance courses with clear explanations and practical case studies that make complex concepts easier to grasp. The self-paced learning is convenient, and the resources are high quality. I especially appreciate the real-world examples that help apply theory to practice. The only room for improvement is providing more interactive elements or live sessions for deeper engagement.

The format of the training is very good with clear demonstrations, and what is also like about the videos is you are able to go back as many times if you have not understood.
The interactive exercises as well are very good as they enable you to test your knowledge.

Lot of practical, highly valuable lessons. Could save many hours on the job!
