The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in in…
The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in in Rio de Janeiro was the Hilton. Although it looks very clean and attractive, it’s a hotel where the rooms smell of sewers. The service is appalling. We weren’t given any towels, slippers or soap on arrival; we had to ask for them more than three times.
We’d booked for three people, but they gave us a twin room and just added an extra bed. For a five-star hotel, I was shocked. Some of the restaurant staff were condescending.
The reason we went back was because we’d booked our room with breakfast included; the chef was lovely and he does a great job of preparing hot meals on the spot. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to visitors heading to Copacabana.
To make up for the delay and the poor service, they offered to treat us to some refreshing drinks, but we never actually received them during our stay, right up until we left. Every time you came back to the room after a walk, it stank to high heaven 💩 – the drains were choked with foul odours. Don’t stay at this hotel.
