I love that I am able to practice at home everyday. Installing the cool fire is very simple. I love the ability to have recoil when practicing.

I am loving my CoolFire Trainer. It's helped me 'connect the dots' between the loads of dry-firing I usually do and the limited range time I get. The recoil is bigger than I had anticipated, although admittedly not quite as snappy as 9mm 115 grain, I think. I'm over the moon with regards to how much trigger time I get with this thing.

I practiced pretty regularly with an airsoft replica for four years, and I would say that the CoolFire Trainer is prefferable. Higher startup cost, but cheaper to shoot. I purchased two 20oz CO2 tanks for my CoolFire Trainer, it's six bucks per tank to fill up at a local paintball store, and I go through a tank per week shooting maybe two to three thousand 'shots' per tank (I have yet to actually count the amount of shots per tank; this is just an estimate for now). Plus, the CoolFire Trainer allows you to use your actual gun.

My CFT unit also had a mechanical issue that couldn't be remedied over the phone/email, so the CoolFire customer service dept. sent me a shipping label for free and fixed it without any fuss. I was out of commission for a little over a week, but it has worked great ever since. They were very prompt responding to me and actually acted like they were concerned that it didn't work, which made me feel like a valued customer.

Bottom line: I get tons and tons of training working my trigger reset with the CoolFire Trainer, and recoil to boot. To me, this thing has been worth every penny. It's loads of fun to shoot! I use it every day.

Firstly, the tech support lady did a wonderful job of correcting my error. The pistol kit came quickly with all the right items. Assembly and preperation were easy with the instructions and videos. All items work well other than the soda maker adapter leaks a bit, but is easily tuned off until next refill. I enjoy this kit, use it almost every day and have seen real improvement in my technique because it allows me to concentrate on specific movements rather than a range clock and is so much cheaper to use.
I appreciate the customer service, the quality of the kit items, and the veterans discount will go towards saving for a rifle kit soon. Absolutely 5 star purchase.

Great Concept, Poor Execution and Support

I really wanted to like the CoolFire Trainer system — the concept is fantastic for realistic dry-fire and recoil training. Unfortunately, the actual experience has been frustrating and expensive.

Main Issue – Plastic Washers:
The plastic washers included with the system dissolve or get crushed very quickly because of the gas from the SodaStream-style CO₂ canister. The threading is poorly designed, and no matter how you install it, the fit ends up misaligned or upside down. I’ve tried replacing the washer with metal, rubber, and even custom-made versions — nothing seals properly. The only option is to keep buying new plastic washers from CoolFire, which adds up fast.

Replacement Parts and Warranty:
It’s nearly impossible to find replacement parts on their website, even for small components that naturally wear out after 300–500 uses. There’s no option to just buy what you need — you have to go through warranty claims or buy a full package again. That’s not practical for instructors, business owners, or frequent users.

Laser Design Problem:
The large laser module that comes with the higher-end package is way too bulky. It doesn’t fit in any standard holster — not OWB, IWB, or concealed carry. That makes it useless for realistic draw-and-fire practice. The smaller, compact laser that actually fits most holsters is sold separately and costs a lot more. There should be a clear option at checkout to choose between the big competition-style laser or the compact one based on your needs.

Suggestions for CoolFire:

Offer customizable packages or “build-your-own” bundles.

Sell spare parts (washers, pins, etc.) directly on the site.

Improve the thread alignment and replace plastic washers with something durable.

Make the compact laser standard or more affordable.

Bottom Line:
CoolFire has a great training concept, but poor design choices and lack of parts support make it unreliable and costly over time. It could easily be a five-star product with a few simple improvements — but in its current form, it’s not ready for serious or professional use.

Not as efficient of a system as some other training systems. Benefit is using actual firearm for training, but replica trainers are much easier to use and have higher capacity for propellent

The tool is as close as real training on a range as possible, with the safety and convenience of practicing at home.
Initially had issues but the support team was phenomenal.
I think these folks are hard working and honest Americans.

I've found this to be an excellent dry fire tool. I have used the coolfire system on my 1911s since April of 2023. I've found the quality of the product, and the service provided when I've needed it to be great! Nothing else on the market can provide a better dry fire experience.

Customer service has nailed every question and addressed a minor issue I was experiencing. Their customer service compared to what you normally find talking to an ACD is a huge differentiator. The system is a great way to avoid having to re-rack the slide on the 1911/2011 platform.

Company did not honor the discount despite having purchase a week before on the highest level coolfiretrainer package ($1000). Seemed like it would have been a good opportunity for customer satisfaction management..

Excellent training tool. Great way to augment your total shooting regiment. Practice your aim and other skills in your actual weapon before you hit the range to maximize performance when firing live rounds. Also works great as a familiarization tool for new shooters who may not have experience with a weapon. Helps to acquire knowledge, feel and experience which will increase confidence.

Great product, and great customer service from the team at Coolfire Trainer as always.

The recoil spring requires a great deal of manipulation to remove before the barrel can come out. Additionally, all CFTs have a downward recoil rather than a backward recoil, making the requirement for live fire training more important than ever. This will not reduce my live fire costs.

I had a problem with the adapter. Sandy and her staff were diligent with their response to my needs. Best customer service I have ever experienced. Moreover, the replacement is working perfectly! Thank you guys!

The product is simply the best dry fire product on the market. Nothing else even comes close. The customer service is A++.

Arrived within three days and well packaged. (US to central Europe).
It's a great system for some fun additional dry fire training, would definitly reccomend the laser targets and the rapid fill adapter.
The system is quite expensive for what is ultimately is, but if you can afford it, it's a fun way to further expand on pistol practice.

Bought a system from a 3rd party which didn't fit; tech support arranged a refurb that works perfectly at a reasonable price.
