Bad customer service, faulty products, gimmicky salon

Bought school shoes here and the buckle broke within 3 hours of my child wearing them — less than 24 hours after purchase. When I tried to return/exchange them the following day, I was told the manufacturer found no fault and that because the shoes had been worn they couldn’t offer a refund or replacement.

The shoes are still with the store, taken for inspection. I have had no refund and no replacement, and have had to raise a chargeback with my bank and report the matter to Citizens Advice.

Their position is that the shoes had been worn. They are shoes — they are meant to be worn. A product in good working order should last longer than 3 hours on a small child’s foot.

We also had a haircut here which was mediocre at best — the experience relies on gimmicks like hair glitter rather than the quality of the cut itself. There are better kids’ salons within walking distance, run by local people, at the same price point with a genuinely better cut and experience.

Avoid. Would give zero stars if I could.

5 star experience

This was our second visit and the whole experience was excellent
But most importantly my 2 year old grandson haircut was brilliant
Can’t recommend highly enough
The ten pound supplement for untangling was worth every penny

Poor service

Last time I waited for 30-min; next booking they rang me rudely and slapped on a £30 “no-show” fee while I was still only 10 min away. Seems to be a pattern, where they run late it’s fine, but if you’re late they cash in. More interested in your money than your kid's haircut. Keep distance and take your kid to a place that really cares about them.

Doubtful practices and double standards

30-min wait last time, then on another day they hit me with a £30 “no-show” fee after a rude call when I was only 10 min late. Other reviews warn about the same lateness double-standard, they only care about ripping your money and not about kids.
The salon trades as Cool Cuts for Kids, but the company behind it is KRASOTA LIMITED, its owner’s name is nowhere on their site. I prefer businesses whose owners stand behind their service, not the ones that are avoiding associating themselves to their own companies. Keep distance of doubtful practices.
