We purchased a 3 bin store and a bespoke piece, to look like a 3 bin store but actually to be used as a children's scooter and bike shed. The quality of the product is outstanding and looks great. I am very happy to recommend Contemporary Fencing

I approached contemporary fencing after searching for fencing for my new build. They were quick to provide me with a quote and I placed an order. The product is high quality and looks fantastic. Chuffed with my new garden.

I have been chasing since 5 July for an accurate quote for the supply and install of fence panels. I am torn between two different species of wood at 1.8m (2m is the maximum legal height for my garden). I have been told they only come in 2.10 and need to be cut down. However, they are clearly for sale at 1.8m on the website. It also feels like I am being pushed towards the redwood which another reviewer has complained about.

They are also not deducting the survey charge properly. Only £160 not £192 (£160 plus VAT) is deducted from the order which means they are overcharging customers and inflating their own VAT recovery. VAT incorrectly charged is not recoverable so it seems reckless to operate in this way. HMRC will assess for the monies plus interest.

I just want my money back. The surveyor was nice but only took measurements. He brought along no samples to review so not the best use of my time or money.

He said the job would take 2 days but the installation quote states 3 days.

Did contact the Managing Director on Sunday but no response.

When did it become 'normal' for companies providing any service you can think of not to return calls, e-mails and texts? It has just become intolerable. Well over two weeks ago at the request of the guy on sales, I sent drawings and photos of a slatted screen project I was undertaking in order to get a price on materials. I left voicemails, phoned, e-mailed and all of it yielded nothing. I've since gone to another company where I got a quote in two days and accepted the order which is being delivered this week. There will come a time - eventually - when companies like CF will realise that poor - non existent - communication is losing them business. Shambolic.

We ordered some panelling, posts and accessories for a domestic garden project. Slight delay with manufacturing as their raw materials were not up to their standards, they informed me of the delay in advance. I then changed my order which they accommodated. Panels now delivered and installed, excellent quality product, very high quality finish and look stunning. I would definitely recommend them.

They were incredibly helpful and kind.
I messed up my order and they told me they wanted all their customers to be happy so to reorder what I needed and they would collect the order I had got wrong. So patient, so kind and worth waiting for. I'm so happy with finished result.

We bought a bespoke cedar bench with back that CF made to our design (it's now on their website for sale as they liked it so much!) We are delighted with the finished product. CF were absolutely brilliant throughout the process, nothing was too much trouble - they were patient with the design process, held onto the bench and delivered it once the wall was rendered and painted. Every communication with Gary, Lee and Dominic was a pleasure and I would not hesitate to recommend them. We like the bench so much, we have also ordered gates from them and can't wait to have them delivered.

We searched for over a year to find the right fencing that would compliment our gym building and decking areas. We wanted a quality product that would offer privacy, but not to make the garden feel any smaller. We even considered constructing our own panels because we simply could not find anything that we both agreed on. Contemporary fencing offered out their new white lime cedar panels and we both instantly knew this was exactly what we had been looking and waiting for. Delivery was quick, customer service was great and installation was straight forward. The product is great quality and really is the last piece of the garden we were hoping for. It’s everything and more than we imagined it to be.

We ordered two sets of cedar panels. The overall quality of the panels is 5*. We had some issues with the delivery where one panel was damaged during transport. Gary from the customer service was superb and arranged the replacement with the next day delivery so that we do not have any delays.

I cannot recommend contemporary fencing highly enough. From ordering nothing was too much trouble, they went out of their way to speed up delivery. The product is incredibly well made, even the delivery man was charming. I went for the Venetian redwood fence panels which looks very smart - also very well priced (especially in comparison to wickes and travis and many other wood yards that came up in Google) they do larch too if your budget stretches. 10/10

Just had my new fence fitted by Contemporary Fencing. It’s Siberian Larch with slotted posts and Larch gravel boards. I needed a special bespoke sloping end panel to make a lovely neat end to the fence. I must say how thrilled I am with the finished product which is genuinely stunning. Most certainly top quality and a brilliant choice. The service I received throughout has been first class. Prompt polite workman who clearly take enormous pride in their work. I recommend this company wholeheartedly.

Really professional people, and premium class products. Bough some decking with fencing panels. My wife really liked it, even better than she thought. Fast delivery. Premium quality. A+ for these guys.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Mis-selling and mis-pricing is what I would most rate this company on.

Here is my personal experience. I ordered Scandinavian Redwood Battens - about 180 of them at just under £4 each. Delivery costs extra £110. The business claims on their website these Scandinavian battens come from privately owned forests in Russia and Scandinavia. Instead, what I got was cheap timber battens (that I could have easily sourced from a B&Q or Homebase) that had been painted in redwood color. No where close to their description or pictures of this product on the website.

Filed a complaint and after a week of back & forth, finally managed to speak to the Director who bluntly challenged me to find similar battens at a cheaper price elsewhere. I don't have an issue about the price, I had an issue about what was shipped to me versus what I thought I was buying from the website. I could have got my fencing job done at half the cost of what I eventually ended up paying.

If I were you, I would avoid buying from this business at all costs. I would prefer to pay a bit of a premium and actually get what I am ordering on the website.

Will never use this business again.

I very rarely write reviews but had some cedar bench seats delivered today and they are really lovely! Beautifully crafted pieces of furniture, visibly made with care and attention to detail. They cost more than I had initially wanted to spend but you definitely get what you pay for in this case - these are fantastic quality, can’t wait to have them installed next week.

After dealing with contemporary fencing and their excellent fitters I can recommend them. The fences are really attractive and they finished off our garden perfectly.

Bought cedar wood battens from contemporary fencing. Expensive wood of which 3 battens split on installation. Disappointingly the company would not replace the battens for free. Not great customer service given how much the original order value was.
