Started wearing conkers and I'm never going back

I purchased my first pair of Conkers, and after a month of wearing them I can never go back to mass produced high street shoes. I ordered a pair of their hacket sandals with a vibram lightweight cleated sole. I ordered online via their website as I am not local to their store and found it very easy to navigate. I also made a call to them to ask for an in person recommendation on what sole they would suggest for the amount of walking I did, and their in store sales team were very responsive and helpful.

I love the level of customisation they offered, as I was able to choose exactly what fit, leather, sole and stictching suited my wardrobe and everyday activities. While they are more expensive than what I would pay for a pair of shoes in a standard shop, the quality is unmatched and their repair serice means that my new favourite pair of shoes will be able to live on for years to come. What I love most about the shoes though is the amount of walking I have been able to do, in town and out on forest paths, without my feet aching or getting blisters. Most shoes I've owned have become scuffed the first day I wear them, but these have been tripped and walked over rougher terrain without so much as a scratch.

The team was a pleasure to deal with, via email and on the phone, and it felt great to be able to support a small business of talented crafts people. I have already ordered my second pair!

After sales care...not so much

After sales care.... not so much.
Having ordered a very expensive pair of shoes, was gobsmacked to discover that a courtesy call to let me know my shoes are in fact ready to collect is too much trouble...I am hoping that the shoes themselves give a better experience. But really, for that much money, customer service needs to step up ALOT.

Absolutely appalling service

Absolutely appalling service, I returned a pair of boots for a simple resole, I was advised that they would be about 5-6 weeks. Eventually, 10 weeks later they were returned. They have only been worn a couple of dozen times and the sole on the right boot has already started to come adrift in less than 5 weeks. Due to the nature of my feet problems I actually have 5 pairs of boots and they are worn on a regular rotational pattern in order to maintain my foot health. All of my shoes and boots are bespoke and I have 2 pairs of Conker boots. When I called today to question the quality of the service, the response was less than satisfactory, I will now find a more professional service to get the Conker boots repaired and it is highly unlikely that I will return to Conkers, either for repair or for purchasing another pair.

First Class Footwear and Service

I was so surprised by the previous review that I felt compelled to respond. I now have 32 pairs of Conker Shoes … and I am devoted to them all. Whilst it’s a matter of taste whether the footwear designs are attractive (or not), I am pleased with the designs and absolutely delighted with the comfort and durability. It costs more to have handmade shoes, but I am willing to pay for this quality. For every design one can choose the type and colour of leather, the colour of stitching, the fit, the type of sole, the buckle and the colour of shoelace. Even more, Conker Shoes can adjust fittings to suit individual requirements. I have just had a pair of sandals resoled. First-class service.
