Very disappointing

It nearly breaks my heart to give a poor review. Especially seeing that others have had a very favourable experience. After reading ‘Less’ I was determined to buy less but better quality and ordered a pair of jeans. They arrived very fast and beautifully packaged. The socks I had ordered were not with them - but I’ll come back to that. The jeans were lovely but far too big. I wasn’t disheartened as the service thus far had been good. I messaged them for refund/return advice. I received no reply (the reply arrived 2 days later by which time I had returned them at a cost of £11). It’s ok I told myself. I emailed to explain I had already returned them and to ask if they had been received (I had paid for next day delivery). Instead the reply was to tell me how to return them - ignoring my reply that I already had. And not telling me if they had arrived. I feel like they do not read the emails or reply appropriately. I have no idea if they have been received or if my refund is being processed. So, I’m £103 down plus £11 postage. And I never received the socks. And my question about where they were was not dealt with. I want to know if my refund is being processed. And surely that’s perfectly normal.

The jeans were tracked so eventually I will have to find out where they are. And I am not sure I reorder the smaller size as the experience has been very disheartening.

Disappointing and disordered customer service

I’ve ordered from Community Clothing a number of times now, as I really wanted to support what they are doing with locally made, good quality clothing. However, my experience after dealing with their customer service and return procedure has not been poor.

I asked for a replacement item due to a fault which had developed with a jacket, and was initially told that no replacements were in stock for over a month. This then changed to them not knowing when a replacement would be available. I was subsequently told that they had “found one”, and it would be sent out to me. A month later and I’m yet to receive the replacement, despite sending my original item back. So I now have no jacket, no replacement, and no £120 I spent on this item in the first place.

I would love to support Community Clothing, but this experience has not been good at all. The quality of the clothing when not faulty is good however.

Very Poor Customer Service (in fact NONE!)

Very Poor Customer Service (in fact NO Customer Service!)

Whilst the product may be nice, there was a small amount of damage to mine when delivered and I reported it 5 days ago with photographs/emails and using their online system too and guess what? Just like everyone else, ZERO response. Things like this should be an absolute priority for a business like this. Get it right and I would buy four or five items a year.

Shame, as I could find other things to order but will not bother as the risk of having to mess about with their obviously hopeless customer service/returns system means it is not worth the risk.

The owner (and celebrity tailor) Patrick Grant should spend less time on TV and more time making sure his bread and butter businesses are run well. Right now it seems they are not! (BTW order number is 143678).

You can sort of tell they don't care as they generally also don't reply to reviews and if they do it takes about 2 weeks!

The reason for 2 stars is that the product itself is well made and nice. If it didn't have some damage it would all be fine.

Carter Moleskin Chore Coat

Just received my new Carter moleskin chore jacket and I absolutely love it. It's really well made from really good quality cloth. I had originally purchased another brand's version of a chore coat - but it really was a poor version of the Community Clothing one so had to be returned.

Community Clothing - recommended without reservation

Community Clothing is an excellent company all round. Quality products. Extremely well made. Value for money. British manufacturers. Ethically very sound. Have ordered many items from them - never any problems - have never had to return anything to them. Super quick postage and all in paper or fully recyclable wrapping. Recommend without reservation.

Quite a nice item, but unlikely to order again

The item was perfectly acceptable, but the price was quite steep and would usually be outside my affordability range. I purchased from this company because I admired their ethos. However, I have not found the customer service very scintillating and that is enough to put me off buying again. There was no email confirmation at all of the order or of dispatch of the item and no tracking, and when I specificaly enquired via email whether the order had been received I had no reply. I actually began to think this was a scam website and nobody likes that feeling when they have paid a lot of money for something. There really is no excuse these days for not providing email acknowledgement of an order to put the customer's mind at rest. I suggest they get on top of that soonest.

Shabby treatment. usual where a…

My experience is the usual where a company has chosen to despatch via the cheap incompetent Evri.
However it is compounded by there being no telephone contact with the company and I’m fast losing patience with where a gift which was ordered on Dec 18th actually is and where it is going . Shabby treatment from what is thought to be an ethical company .

Superb quality made in the Uk

I purchased a pack of three sport socks, which was my first purchase from Community Clothing. The online ordering process was easy and the quality of the socks was exceptional. Community Clothing's mission is commendable and it's probably the first time I've felt good about buying socks! Based on my initial experience, I will certainly be buying other garmets.

CC leaves a warm glow

The up-front honesty of this company does them a great credit; they say exactly what they'll do, and deliver on that. Daft sales and unrealistic delivery promises are replaced by fair dealings and good communications.

The products so far have been excellent, with everything delivered within the promised window, but more importantly, the commitment to staff and planet cannot be faulted. Of all the companies I buy from, these leave the warmest glow.

Edit: Also, unlike some companies, they never asked for a review. I like that.

Bad business practices

Wanted to order a jumper. Not in stock. Fair enough. Asked to be notified when back in stock. Had an email saying it was back in stock. Ordered it. Had an email straight back saying it was not in stock but would be in a few days. Waited. Had another email saying that it wouldn’t be back in stock for weeks and would i like a refund. Yes i would! What a waste of time. Wanted to buy quality british made clothing but this is a real disincentive

Just received my first order of waxed jacket and socks. Superb quality, really impressive. Higher price than I would normally pay but easily worth it. Immediately placed an order for my wife’s Xmas presents. And I just love the philosophy of the business. Thanks.

Size info way off

Seem to be good quality items in terms of fabric but the fit is peculiar.
Dimensions on the website are way off compared to the actual garment dimensions - by inches around the waist in the case of the trousers I ordered. The trouser thighs were ultra baggy but the lower legs were tight - not the look I was expecting at all.
Also note that you have to arrange returns yourself, meaning the risk of the parcel going missing (as seems to have happened to me courtesy of DPD) lies with you.

TERRIBLE RETURNS PROCEDURE

I see that i'm not the first to complain about their returns service. So disappointing from this company who preach to us all from the moral high ground. Their communications are from a bot and I'm starting to feel the same anger and frustration that I feel with a Chinese cowboy outfit. SHAME ON YOU, PATRICK GRANT. If you're putting your name to this, you need to keep your eye on the customer care as well as the production.

Poor customer service

Ordered 2 sweatshirts and was very pleased with the quality. However sizing was haphazard, to say the least, and had to return them. As other customers have mentioned, the process is lengthy, and from 21 September am still awaiting a refund of £125.
A number of emails has not yet accelerated this payment.
I was hoping to support a traditional British company but my first experience has been very disappointing
