The Warrenty isn’t followed by Colnago
Late 2024 i brought a beautiful Colnago V4Rs in Pearl White from Cicli Tartaggia in Italy. There was really great communication with the shop and Sebastian there.
Unfortunately as the 25’. Season startet it started to be quite noisy from the bottom bracket area, and around summer 25 I contacted the shop and asked for advice, as I already tried several cranksets, wheelsets and bottom bracket’s with no effect on the noise.
The shop kindly suggested to have a warranty claim on the frameset as this appears to be an issue on those with t47 BB.
As I race, the shop very kindly allowed me to wait to send it in, until end of the race season.
It was sent in in December 25 and in early march I received a replacement frame, and my old fork.
Unfortunately the replacement frame that was sent was not fully coated in the clear coat, had what looked like a running paint around the BB area and lacked the bit token on the frame - and was in another tone white than the old fork..
also the thru axle for the rear was missing.
It was sent back in and in only 10 days replaced again. And so was the fork.
The new frame was 98% in the clearcoat, but the new fork was as you can see on the attached pic still quite another tone than the new fork, in my humble opinion.
But Colnago and the shop insist it’s the same color and that they can’t do more on the Warrenty claim.
Now I am left quite disappointed and amazed over Colnago.
I have for the last 30 years loved Colnago and their journey from steel over the C40 to V3rs and lates my V4Rs.
I am baffled that an absolute premium brand lacks premium warranty service.
One thing is the quite long period the warranty exchange takes another is their position on the quality and lack of pride on the brand..
