Worst bank in Canada, beware!
Coast capital will attempt to force feed you offers by phone to the point of borderline harassment. Although I qualified for the new bank account offers, put my direct deposit and everything, they refused to give me the money for the offer. I'm telling you they do not operate like actual banks in Canada, beware!
Forced transfer from Motusbank
Forced transfer from Motusbank. Refused to give my wife an account number because she doesn't use a computer so requested her account number by mail still no account number for her RRIF account. We live in Alberta and have been told we must go to their branch for this. Stay stay away!! Not a REAL bank.
Terrible credit Union
Terrible credit Union, absolute master in not letting you access your own money. Overly intrusive security practices, constantly blocking legitimate e-transfers in the name of your protection. Do not refund fees on blocked transfers. Extremely invasive questioning when you ask to have the block removed. They freeze your ability to transfer money in order to close down your account, terrible attitude over the phone, constantly implying they suspect you of fraud including veiled threats.
Robbers
They will not help you if you get scammed, they will take your money no issue over minor stuff but will refuse to help when you actually need it. Scum bags.

Very quick & professional approach demonstrated by Preet Bandal when my account was wrongly debited. It was resolved within 20 minutes. I appreciate.

Transition was horrible.
Been waiting all day for an e-transfer to go in to my account. Looking at switching to Simpli
E-transfers never get processed
E-transfers never get processed. No live chat option and Customer service is poor as well.
Absolute worst banking experience in the world
I was forced to move from MotusBank to Coast Capital Savings after it aquired MotusBank. Coast Capital is the worst bank in the world, they did not make the transition process easy at all. They charge you for literally everything. I bet they'd charge you for logging into online banking if they could.

Don't choose this bank for your business
Don't choose this bank for your business. I opened a business bank account online and didn't hear back for 2 months. Opened a business credit card online, again didn't hear back for 2 months. If you are a go getter business owner, go elsewhere.
DANGER: do NOT trust this bank
If I could give this bank a ZERO stars, I would. I would not recommend: I had my FIRST and LAST transaction yesterday with this bank, which nearly cost me my health as they decided to put a BLOCK on a transaction I had made - this was my FIRST transaction EVER - and this block was going to be left there for 24 to 48 hours had I not called back several times and finally got an agent to understand that this block was going to cost me my health, and so much more - that they were blocking my ability to purchase my medications. So help me god, I have never in my 50 years on this planet been so terrorized by a BANK. Do NOT trust this company with your money, they are dangerous.

I am absolutely fed up with Coast Capital!!!!!!!! I could go on and on about why this is the case but it would just be too much to type. They used to be great and I’ve been with them for decades. I don’t know what changed but they’re just horrible now. They lock my funds and ask where deposits came from, their app is shit and only works half the time, their automated phone service is slow and my account number and access code don’t work to get through to my account when I call even though my credentials are correct. GOODBYE COAST CAPITAL. Unbelievably frustrating. Their poor rating on trust pilot is no surprise to me.
Worst bank that you can ever encounter.
Worst bank that you can ever encounter.
Taking fees for e-transfers and never processing them!
Takes days to get your money back, but not the fee!!!
They don't refund the FEES even if they don'tprocess the transfer, FREAKING SCAMMERS!
Wait times are crazy!
I feel like I’ve been scammed
I feel like I’ve been scammed. I only made transactions at Coast Capital Savings—three times with a teller and once at their ATM. Now, I’ve been robbed of $700, and Coast Capital Savings employees are blaming 'ATM skimming.' It’s clear they do not protect their customers from theft, even when it happens right inside their own branches.
Customer service is always great, but I hate paying for e-transfers
Customer service is always great, very friendly and I love my fanancial advisor. I hate the fact that I have to pay for e-transfers when every other bank doesn't charge. I also hate the mobile app, I have never been able to do a deposit on the go, and I find it quite clunky and cluttered. Once my mortgage is discharged I'll be switching banks, one would think covering e-transfer charges is a small price to pay to keep customers
Coast Capital Savings is a fine credit union
Coast Capital Savings is a fine credit union, but with some things to improve.
Pros:
- Free chequing account.
- Simple online banking.
- Kind staff.
- Easy to get a credit card for newcomers.
Cons:
- $1.5 fee for e-transfers (you get that for free at all banks I know).
- Often need to call customer support twice to resolve issues (unfortunately a general issue in Canada in my short experience).
- Uses external credit card provider.
- Online banking is maybe too simplistic causing a lack of a few non-essential features.
