Long-time satisfied customer
I've been using Clover for several years now to process my brick 'n mortar transactions. Customer service is quick and human and professional whenever I need them, which is rare. The Clover Mini we use for processing is slick, compact, coded for our customers to use their HSA cards when appropriate. I like that the funds that settle one day are in my bank account the very next morning on business days. Option for rapid deposit can be helpful on occasion. All around, I am very satisfied.
What a poor company
What a poor company , wish I had never heard of them !!
DO NOT USE THEY ARE A WASTE OF TIME !!
Horrible customer serivce, Horrible support, Horrible POS system
Horrible. Their severs are either always down or they are running updates that either mess something up or run the updates durning peak business hours leaving the POS inoperable.
Their updates have been known to break the payment system, break the rewards system, break the label printer, cause lag, cause credit card payments to not go through etc etc.
Happens all the time. Also, some of their updates are beta updates which shouldn't even go live as it breaks everything or doesn't work at planned.
STAY AWAY
Used it for about 2 years. They charge for every little thing. my last straw was they wanted to charge an additional $370/month for inventory use. Long wait times to get someone on the phone for an issue. WORST part is when I tried to cancel. They're giving me the run around. I have contacted several people and still NO ONE can actually close the account meanwhile I'm being charged for a system we haven't used in months. BTW still not solved..been on emails with our rep who opened the account and "closed" the account.. all the sudden he can't help. Been thru several 800 numbers all morning, same answer.."not our department" Someone in the payment processing department has agreed to help me resolve the issue and will get back to me in a few days :/ BE AWARE STAY AWAY! also don't believe when they say they will buy the system back if you change your mind..NOT true!
Clover sucks
Clover sucks. We switched to Clover and we were promised so many things, that we wouldn't have the issues we were having with our previous POS system. We have more problems. And every time Clove updates I swear they do not communicate that with the 700 apps they integrate with. They sell you on the fact they "integrate with over 700 apps" yet every update they do everything shits the bed. I cannot even tell you how bad this product is. If we didn't sign a contract I would go over to Toast. Do yourself a favor and do buy this product. We've been with them for over 8 months now and all I can say is it's been miserable. I've probably written two reviews in my life - this is the second one. I normally don't care to leave reviews but I want other business owners to be warned before they invest in this shit ass product.
This is the most frustrating customer…
This is the most frustrating customer experience I have ever had. I am many months into trying to deal with two small issues - one related to a piece of equipment, the other connected to online ordering and catering.
It is Monday morning now. I have, since Friday, made more than 12 calls. I have gone back and forth via email with some AI entity. I'm now 40 minutes into another call, no help in sight.
Sharing my experience for other small businesses evaluating Clover/ChordPay.
System does not notify if an item isn't added to the transaction- the beep from the scanner gives a false sense of processing.
Customer loyalty is lacking usefulness.
Clover won't support another business if they buy my 1 year old equipment.
Support calls- it takes a while to get verified- you must enter a 15 digit number and answer their bank of questions
We operated two locations and purchased our Clover equipment outright. When we transitioned off Clover, we later discovered two identical $199 “MTOT ADJ BANKCARD” charges withdrawn from our bank account.
Support confirmed these were early termination fees associated with a 3-year merchant contract — one fee per location. This wasn't made clear at sign-up and did not appear in the Clover billing portal. I only learned the charges were for “miscellaneous fees under section 10” after contacting support and requesting documentation.
If you consider Clover/ChordPay, I recommend:
-Asking specifically about contract length
-Requesting any termination fees in writing
-Confirming whether fees apply per location
-Keeping screenshots or copies of the merchant agreements
We’ve moved to a different point-of-sale provider with transparent billing, but I hope this helps other owners make informed decisions.
From initial call to set up
From initial call to set up everything was just easy. I have no complaints. I received my device very quickly and we love the option to take our device on the go for our various events.
Scam!!
Scam!!! Please people read my comments it will save your time and ur business. We have been with clover less than a month and we are already crying and wanting to cancel however they still have our money ( so after using there machine for about 2weekes the debit card % change was up by couple of cents and they had our credit card funds on hold for more than 7 days we called many times to the customer service they where not helpful at ALL and 2 confirmed appointments wore not attended (risk department) we still not able to get an appointment with right department and they don’t want to let use to talk to the manage (they keep and saying we can’t transfer to the manager only the supervisor) they don’t have any kind of contact information about the other departments and they won’t transfer calls
We are still missing thousands of dollars and yet no release or investigation on our account
Clover IS. BIG SCAM and WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
DO NOT FALL FOR THIS
DO NOT FALL FOR THIS
Clover is a scam. Plain and simple. I tried to get out of the contract before their stupid device even arrived. NO ONE EVER HELPED ME OR CONTACTED ME AGAIN. This device DOES NOT WORK. You cannot print labels, you cannot track inventory, their customer support is off-shore and their basic support reps cannot solve even the most basic issues.
DO NOT USE
Do not use clover. Sales rep never advised 48 month terminal contact was told free terminal. later found hidden in contract 48 month term and they had collected no fees in this time. Shame I cant rate them 0
Great Experience and Customer Service
We have had a great experience with our system, and it works great with our bookstore. Adam our representative is very easy to work with and answers all of our questions.
clover is a SCAM
clover is a SCAM. they are built so that you keep their service forever. software fees increase every year. even after paying off your clover machine you are not allowed to change merchants even after your contract is over(so you'll have to accept their merchant fees) if you wish to change merchants you will have to purchase a whole new clover device and start all over. If you don't choose to keep your subscription your clover is basically useless and you cant get back in to see old data. Invest in something you can KEEP and not be obligated to keep paying software fees to get access to your data.
What a horrible system
What a horrible system. I will not recommend it for a restaurant. They make updates without notification and mess everything up. The customer service is horrible from language barrier, long waits, unknowledgeable representatives to issues not getting resolved. Additionally, you have to purchase their equipment and then the hardware becomes obsolete after a few years, you can not resell the equipment and then there is the monthly fees that are hard to justify for the crappy service they provide. You can not even get an email to voice your concerns. Stay away from this system
Excellent customer service and support!
After 12-months of service a CC…
After 12-months of service a CC terminal quit working and It tool over 2-weeks and 8-phone calls to get a replacement terminal. This had a negative impact on our business not having a way to take credit cards. I will be dropping them as soon as our contract is up.
Scammed by Clover and received zero support
I was duped by a bait and switch and then ghosted. I was told I would pay 1 penny a month for the equipment. I was being charged over $75 a month. I called to get this corrected and received no call back. I sent the equipment back and continued to get charged. Clover and FiServ is a scam. Beware!
I've had a horrible experience with…
I've had a horrible experience with Clover and their fees that surpass 25% of the money batched on a regular basis. Fees on top of fees on top of fees . I batched $435 on October 5th they took $162.37 I batched $299 on October 10th they took $187.37. If your looking for a company to pull the wool over your eyes this ones for you. Sign up at Clover today for these fees ! I bet this won't go public because some how this company has a 4.9 star rating which tells you they control what's been posted
