An unforgettable Ama Dablam Experience with an Exceptional Guide
I climbed Ama Dablam with Prakash from Climb Himalaya, and I honestly could not have asked for a better experience.
From the moment I arrived in Kathmandu, everything was seamless. I was picked up from the airport, taken to a lovely hotel, and supported with all the preparation for the expedition. I felt looked after from the very start, which made a huge difference going into such a big trip.
The trek in was incredible in itself—beautiful tea houses, plenty of good food, and a really fun atmosphere. It genuinely felt more like an enjoyable journey in with card games and good company than just a means to get to base camp.
At base camp, we stayed at the Ama Dablam Lodge, which was such a perfect setup. Everything was taken care of, and it made for a really comfortable and well-organised base for the climb.
The climb itself was amazing. The logistics were excellent, with tents already set up on the mountain and a clear, well-communicated plan from Prakash about how we would approach each stage. Safety was always his top priority—we took acclimatisation and training seriously, which meant that by summit day I felt strong, confident, and fully prepared.
What stood out most to me was how much Prakash listened. He involved me in decisions and made sure I had input into how the days unfolded, which made the whole experience feel really personal rather than just being guided through it.
During our second rotation, we went from Camp 2 to the summit and all the way back to base camp in a single day—something I had really hoped to achieve. I genuinely don’t think that would have been possible without Prakash’s support, judgement, and belief in me.
This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and one I’ll be talking about forever. I couldn’t have imagined doing such a special expedition with anyone else, and I would recommend Prakash and Climb Himalaya without hesitation.
