Very Disappointing Experience with ClickMortgage

I applied for a mortgage with ClickMortgage in June. They asked for all my documents — mine as a self-employed person and my wife’s as an employee. During the process, they changed my lender three times and I paid around £1,000 in total fees.

In the end, my application was declined because of a default that had already been fully settled. They had promised to be specialist brokers for people with bad credit or defaults — that’s why I trusted them — but they didn’t deliver on that promise.

After being declined, I received no refund for any of the fees I paid and ended up losing £1,000 with nothing in return. Overall, I had a very bad experience and I would not recommend ClickMortgage to anyone.

We are sorry that you feel dissatisfied, however we must respond to your statements. You have not paid any fees to ourselves, we have not been in receipt of the £1,000 you mentioned or indeed any fees from you. The lender had agreed to accept your application in principle allowing for your adverse credit history at that time. You decided to proceed with the applications and any fees that you paid, were paid by you directly to the lender as per the terms and conditions of the mortgage application which were for the assessment of the application and valuation of the property. These fees are non-refundable as stated in the illustrations supplied to you. However, following the full application your credit history deteriorated and you received a further adverse credit marker with a new default being registered against you subsequent to the original agreement in principle. This was then unacceptable to the lender due to the recentness of the default. We had advised that you should ensure that your credit history is well maintained following the agreement in principle but in your case you received a new default and the lender was not willing to proceed. We cannot be held responsible for the way that you conduct your credit accounts.

Amazing 10/10

A massive thanks to Dannii and Liz who made the whole mortgage process simple for me and my family.

They stuck with it, dealt with me being on the phone daily and really went the extra mile to get us a mortgage.

I honestly could not reccomend enough.
