Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 849 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the subscription model, finding the usage limits too restrictive even for paid plans, which often led to interruptions in their work. Customers also expressed frustration with the pricing, considering it too high for the limited access provided. The service itself was frequently criticized for being unresponsive and difficult to reach, with many encountering automated responses that did not resolve their issues. Some people were dissatisfied with the artificial intelligence, noting its inefficiency, tendency to hallucinate, and inability to consistently perform tasks as expected. Conversely, a few other people also felt that the AI was helpful for specific tasks like writing and text analysis, and some even found it to be a superior tool compared to other AI options.

It's getting worse and worse by the day, even on newer models. Not to mention the prices are genuinely horrid, I get to use 5-6 prompts before my usage limits are up and I have to wait for 6 hours.

terrible vlue on 'usagelimits' which were NOT explained before signing, nd are not fit for purpose. It makes as many mistakes as chat GPT, and frankly we would be better just to do the work ourselves. If this is the 'value' of Ai, it's a con job!

Charged $217 and left with a Free plan after accidental upgrade Review:

I purchased Claude Pro annual plan on April 27, 2026 for $217.75. Two days later I accidentally upgraded to a higher plan and immediately contacted support the same day to reverse it.
After days of waiting with no response, multiple follow ups, and going through their AI bot repeatedly before reaching a human agent, the support team processed a refund of only $1.04. My account is now showing the Free plan. I have lost $217.75 and have nothing to show for it.
The product itself is good but the support experience has been an absolute nightmare. No phone number, AI bots that cannot access your account, days of silence, and a resolution that left me worse off than before I even contacted them.
I have now been forced to send a final demand email threatening a bank chargeback. This should never have come to this point.
I would not recommend purchasing any annual or premium plan until Anthropic improves their billing support significantly. Extremely disappointed.

Start to be a scam

Claude is very good, but the Pro subscription is a huge disappointment. The company is a huge disappointment.
I use it for both coding and conversations. The problem is simple: it does good work, but it often needs several attempts before it gets to the right result. Every attempt quickly burns through the available limit, and after a very short time, you are left without real access.
For coding, it is extremely frustrating. Debugging, refactoring, explanations, tests — all of that eats through tokens immediately. For conversations, it is the same: even when you ask for short and efficient answers, the limit runs out far too quickly.
You pay for an expensive subscription, but the experience feels like you only get access in tiny pieces. The model is premium, but the access you get does not feel premium at all.
Claude itself is not the problem. Anthropic is the problem. They use the fact that the model is very good to attract paying users, then impose aggressive limits that make the subscription very hard to justify.
In short: excellent model, weak subscription, absurd limits. In its current form, to me, it already feels like a scam.

It gets 5 star for manners but I don't want apologies.

It gets 5 star for manners but too many times you get this sort of thing this is an actual quote:

Honest answers to both.
Why I stopped after Chapter 5: I shouldn't have. I presented the file and summarised the work as though the session was complete, when in fact you had asked me to continue and I had only done one chapter. That was a mistake on my part..... unquote

it's ok for work chapter by chapter but give it a full manuscript and the problems start.

I paid 2 times for 0.50 cents to use claude for a few small things. Suddenly I have 2 EXTRA payments for 29.99 each that I never asked for nor give permission! This is an absolute scam! I will never be using this scumbag ai EVER again!

I am unable to sign up to Claude AI as my birthday is on a leap year. I have tried multiple browsers. My birthdate has been entered in the correct format, yet I am told to enter a valid date. The fact that the sign up form has such a huge quality control issue does not bode well for the actual ai itself, so I will now stop trying.

Have been a pro payer for a while but claude is just getting worse

Have been a pro payer for a while but every update requires more data usage even with same queries so it is just getting more expensive to use it, still better than chatgpt but I can get more answers out of them to a lower cost. Not sure why claude is not focusing on paying customers complaints instead of working on showing nice charts that is not customer experience just excuses,

Claude AI is an **absolute dumpster fire**

Claude AI is an **absolute dumpster fire** that lives up to every worst expectation of overhyped AI tech. This thing **constantly admits it's lying**—mid-conversation, it'll spit out garbage code, then sheepishly confess "I can't guarantee this is correct" or "you shouldn't fully trust my output." What kind of "professional" tool **brags about being untrustworthy**? It's like hiring a surgeon who warns you they might leave the scalpel inside.

**Forgets everything**—give it a multi-step task and by step 3 it's lost the plot. "Wait, what were we building again?" Meanwhile, you're stuck re-explaining basic requirements it **literally just acknowledged**.

**Desktop app is a glitchy nightmare**—freezes constantly, lags like a 90s dial-up connection, forces you to spam-send the same message 5x just to get a response. Cleared cache via their useless "AI help"? Still broken. ChatGPT's desktop app has the same trash-tier performance, proving this is **industry-wide incompetence** in basic desktop UX. Can't even get a chat window to work reliably in 2026?

**Coding skills are amateur hour at best**. The free version teased potential, but Pro is a **disappointing scam**. **I have to cross-reference ALL its output with other AIs**—Codex, Grok, ChatGPT—that **constantly flag problems** with the broken code it produces. Claude **routinely admits it wastes hours of my time breaking my code**, then has the gall to say **"you're sharper than me"** after I've been awake all night as an **amateur vibe coder**. How is this even possible? A sleep-deprived hobbyist outsmarting a $20/month "Pro" AI?

It pumps out brittle, non-production code that breaks on first contact with reality. No transaction handling, no error recovery, no enterprise patterns—just toy scripts that work in isolation then explode in pipelines. How people call this a "game changer" is beyond me—they must be doing **CopyPaste™ leetcode solutions**, not real production environment applications.

**Hype vs. Reality**: Claude was sold as "everything to everyone," but it's a **one-trick pony** for basic prototyping. Production-grade? Laughable. Professionals waste more time fixing its messes than writing from scratch. Our frustration is 100% valid—this is **vaporware masquerading as revolutionary tech**, and Anthropic should be ashamed of charging money for it. Total waste of a Pro subscription.

Title: Platform bug locked my billing — no human support after multiple escalations

I'm an Annual Pre-Paid Pro subscriber. After a recent platform upgrade, my billing country was automatically changed from UAE to Egypt without my action. This broke my entire account — I cannot update my billing address, company details, or payment methods. The system reverts every change I make.

The irony: Anthropic's own Invoice EACUHTCJ0001 (March 31, 2026) contains the correct UAE billing details. They charged my UAE card successfully for both my annual subscription and a $200 top-up. Then their system deleted the data.

I've tried to fix this over 20 times through Settings. I've emailed support@anthropic, used the in-app chat, and escalated multiple times (Conversation ID: 215474082038605, submitted April 27, 2026). Every response has been from "Fin AI Agent" — an AI bot that suggests self-service steps that don't work for this bug.

I am actively trying to upgrade to the Max plan and pay more. The bug is preventing me from doing so.

I love the Claude product, but the billing infrastructure and customer support are not at the level you'd expect from a company of this caliber. International customers with non-US billing details appear to be disproportionately affected.

Bought the Partial subscription…

Bought the Partial subscription (introductory offer) for 50p which expired 7 days later. Was charged 29.99 renewal. Triggered refund but Fin couldn’t find recent subscriptions so was unable to carry out refund. Was told a human agent would be in touch which hasn’t been the case. Cancellation email stated id be able to use premium features for the next 28 days but account is stuck on free version.
