Clarks shoes combine quality with fashion. I particularly like and appreciate quality leather shoes at a reasonable price. Also, staff are helpful and friendly.

We, like most parents, left it late to buy the school shoes for this academic year for fer they would grow out of them prior to the start of the year.

We went to Corby store, were measured and bought 3 pairs of shoes. 2 weeks in, my daughter complains that they are uncomfortable. Horror!

We went to the Harborough store where Julie (manager) and her colleague checked and measured again. My son was 1 size too small and my daughter 1.5, having also been sold women's shoes, not school shoes. I believe that the casual shoes I bought for my son will also be wrong!

Harborough (Julie and team) recognised the issue and immediately did everything they could to resolve the issue of me having spent £125 on 3 pairs of shoes incorrectly fitted. Julie even asked that my son come to the shop to check his specifically.

We were in the shop at 4.35pm and stayed after 5pm closing whilst the team diligently went through shoes until they were satisfied. They even recognised that the 'right' shoe would be one to be ordered - a testimonial to knowing their stock. They weren't going to let my children leave with something less than spot on.

They were professional, kind, humble and exceptionally efficient and turning a nightmare into a wonderful experience with Clarks.

This is the second time in just over 12 months we have been told a pair of shoes fit and been assured they are right in the shop, to get home and realise a few days later they don't.
In this case, our 3 year lad measured 8.5 and we were told size 9 would be the best fit for these shoes. Whilst they fine when on, they are almost impossible to get on his foot (too tight).
As such, 1 star for poor design and advice in shop to go against their own sizing.

Added 27/9 following an response from the online help today and have updated the heading to be more reflective of my experience.
1. The response to this review suggested follow a link that I cant see / doesn't exist, so I contacted online help
2. It took 2 weeks to provide a response that basically said they cant comment really and my concerns have fed back to the area manager.
Result - Well unfortunately, I cant downgrade the start rating, however my expectations have been successfully lowered further. I will go into store and invariably have a polite disagreement over the previous advice they provided and their ability to provide shoes that actually fit kids.

This Saturday 13th April, I visited Clark’s in Market Harborough and was served by Julie.
Amelia was fantastic with my son, gentle, attentive and very friendly when measuring his feet and recommending various choices.
Julie was lovely too, and spoke in a friendly, and child appropriate manner which made my little boy laugh a lot, kindly offering to take a few pictures of father and son.
We were in store in total for less than 30 mins, and didn’t have to wait, nor feel awkward for arriving slightly later than our appointment.
Thank you for great service, you both deserve equal amounts of recognition for going that extra mile.
We will be visiting again, and look forward to seeing you soon.
