I had a really bizarre experience at Clark’s today. The sales assistant was great with my daughter, but then claimed that Clark’s sizes are different to all other stores (which I can’t believe is really true.. I understood that shoe sizes are standardised).
The shoes my daughter was wearing were the same size as the assistant had measured her feet as, so I asked if she could check them as I thought she might need some new school shoes. She refused as they hadn’t been bought from Clark’s, so I was unable to buy any shoes. I’m guessing this is a policy of Clark’s, but it leaves a bad taste in the mouth and is also pretty short sighted as I came in to buy shoes and left unlikely to ever shop in Clarks again.

Ella in Lincoln City Centre was so helpful and patient with our daughter who struggles with the fit of most shoes / trainers. She took the time to look at numerous different types of shoes for us in order to help our daughter choose the best shoes for her needs.
Alice at the Lincoln store was wonderful. So helpful, chatty and friendly.
Welcomed by Eleanor M as we entered the store. Granddaughter had her feet measured and Eleanor M brought down a number of styles to try on. Nothing was too much trouble and she was very good at checking the fit of the boots and trainers. Came away with both
Ellie made shoe buying post foot op a. Joy. Nothing too much trouble and came away with fab pair of shoes
Well what can I say, my husband and I went into your shop (High Street Lincoln)
and was served by Ellie K .She was so helpful. We originally went to get my husband some new shoes. I saw some boots which I liked. We both tried on the shoes/boots we liked. They didn't quite fit properly, but with the help and advice we got from Ellie, we both purchased our footwear. Thank you so much. We left the shop feeling very happy with our purchases. Thanks again
Louise at the Lincoln branch was brilliant. She was kind and understanding. She was so patient with us and didn’t judge my little one was getting fussy. She wasn’t there to make a sale but to make sure we got the right footwear. She used her experience to help us make the decision and smiled all the way through
We visited Clarks in lincoln today. Lisa served us, she was very attentive from the minute we walked in. We came close to closing time and she was still absolutely lovely and very helpful! Got my little boy his first shoes and had a wonderful experience. Thank you!
Eleanor M at Lincoln was excellent! Super helpful and brought all the combinations of sizes and styles needed until we found the perfect match. Thank you!
Louise at the Lincoln store fitted my daughter’s shoes & trainers today ready for her to start her new school. Louise was absolutely amazing, she understood my daughter’s needs, and was patient in accommodating her awkward floppy ankles. I would highly recommend the Lincoln store if you have a child or are an adult with pronation, Louise is excellent for helping with checking correct fitting.
Jess was amazing. She was very patient with both my daughters while they were trying on and choosing school shoes. We also had a couple of potentially tricky returns to sort out (summer sandals that had been bought and worn, but were not fitting correctly). All sorted and refunded without any issues. Great service from Jess and her supervisor/manager.

Well we went into the Lincoln branch of Clark’s to buy school shoes. We were met by a lovely young girl named
Orlagh and immediately set up a lovely rapport with my eight year old grandson. She listened to what he had to say about what type of shoe he needs and brought him fours different pairs to try on. She listened to his comments on the shoes and we finally brought one pair. Orlagh was very attentive and professional, as well as kind and patience.
Ella Preston served us at Lincoln Clarks. We were buying shoes for school and she was so brilliant. She listened, took care over what she did and said and provided excellent customer service. She made our girls feel really comfortable. She’s the best member of staff we’ve encountered at Clarks.
Booked an appointment which was really easy and when we turned up in store Ella P was ready for us. Ella P was really friendly and helpful, measured my daughter’s feet and picked several styles for her to try. All in all a very seamless and good experience buying back to school shoes which can be very manic! Thanks Ella P you were great!
My children and I were looked after by Grace at the Lincoln store. She was very patient and engaging, great service thank you. The lady controlling the queue was also very lovely.
I was looking for some new shoes for school as I am a teacher. We were served by a lovely young lady Madie in the Lincoln store, she was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. She went to look for different sizes and ordered a pair not in stock in the store to be delivered to my home address. Thank you Madie!
Millie helped with school shoes she was very polite and helpful quick and simple 😊
After a positive experience a few weeks ago at the same store, we booked a fitting at Lincoln. We arrived early and were sent straight to our fitting clerk. She asked the children’s names and ages and what shoes we wanted, before measuring. My eldest had chosen some on our previous visit, these were out of stock, so the clerk ordered them for home delivery. My youngest needed to try some different styles. The first pair she tried, she said felt too tight. The clerk felt with her fingers and said there was plenty of room. She said to my daughter ‘I’m not worried about what they feel like, I’m asking you what you think they look like!’ I found this an odd statement. My daughter repeated that they didn’t feel nice. The clerk snapped ‘Well I don’t know what we’re going to do then *****, you’ll be leaving here without a pair of school shoes!’
I would like to point out that it was only 10:20 in the morning, so she shouldn’t have been stressed out, and it was literally the first pair my daughter had tried on! Obviously it matters hugely what they feel like! I asked if she had other styles to try, and she said she’d look. The clerk then ended up ordering a pair I searched online for whilst standing in the shop, to be delivered with my other daughter’s pair. I had travelled 45 minutes to the store, after the good service on my previous visit, but left feeling disappointed at the customer service today. The clerk didn’t seem to have any patience and seemed to want us out as quickly as possible.
