I contacted the shop late on a Sunday…

I contacted the shop late on a Sunday night after my son damaged his Xbox. Even though they were closed I had a message within ten minutes. First impressions in business are everything and City PC repairs did just that. The repair itself was very professionally done and overall I was delighted with the overall service and the cost of the repair. Thanks for all your help making a wee boy very happy again.

PS5 Hdmi issue resolved

John was great. I messaged him regarding an issue with my ps5 on Friday. He responded the same day confirming he understood the issue and is likely to be able to fix this for me. He was very clear in terms of the drop off and collection times. He was also very clear about the pricing. I found him very professional, courteous and direct. He has a cool dog too 😊. This was all fixed and I collected at the agreed time. Five star service

What a way to run a business!

I won't go into the whole shambles of this 'business' but probably the rudest, most arrogant man I've had the misfortune of dealing with.

By all accounts I'm sure he's good at what he does if it's a fairly simple job but anything more complicated seems to be beyond him. And what's more beyond him is being professional and decent.

In the end decided not to use this company based on his attitude alone.

I do want to go into this shables. I dont have a job relating to you, your review has been left within minutes of Vada arriving to collect her Mac and demanding that I drop everything and provide a detailed report on the liquid damaged Mac. An house before I go on holiday.

Lets get a few thing correct, Vada dropped the mac off to be checked after a liquid spill, she was informed that it would cost £75 to have a look at it, ie take apart, clean and systematically check the motherboard stage by stage. After this is done we come back to the customer with a price for repair. If the customer declines the quote then the customer collects the Mac, if the customer goes ahead with repair they pay the quoted price - the £75.

We normally quote 5-7 days to get back to you when quiet and 7-10 days when busy.
After looking at the Mac, Vada was updated by Text mesage 14 Dec and Monday 19th Dec with a price for repair, I resent the message the following day and have yet to get a reply saying go ahead or not. Out of the blue on Tuesday Vada turned up at the shop with her Uncle, he was shouting at me that I ripped her off for £75, I pointed him in the direction of my website that confirms the £75 charge. Vada was advised of the charge at the time of dropping off the Mac. The Uncle wanted to collect the Mac then and there, if I had confirmation of intention from either You, the Uncle or Vada then I would have had the Mac ready for collection.

As far as I am concerned Vada was the customer but Ive had the Uncle turn up at the shop shouting and I presume it was you that phoned me a few Fridays ago asking questions about the Mac, I was day off and not in shop so didnt have any 100% correct details to share with you, I advised you to call back the following Monday which you didnt do.

At no point in the ducussion did I say that a full report on the Mac would be provided, however I did offer today to make that available over the Xmas Holidays by email, Vada didnt think this was quick enough for her.

In regard to your personal comments about me, I have never met you so thats some conclusion to make. Being professional is not arriving at my shop shouting that I am ripping people off when Iam being straight up about what I will and wont do and and when I will do it.

I hope that covers everything.

Top class service

John was amazing to deal with and I can’t thank him enough for recovering my data from a laptop which decided not to turn on one day.
Then when I couldn’t access the data on the hard drive a long time after, again John was extremely helpful in talking me through how to access it.

I recently contacted John about my all in one pc which had given up.
John was able to save all my data. The service was superb and he clearly knows what he is about.
I would encourage anyone with pc problems to get in touch with him.

Expectations well managed

John was not able to recover data from my broken hard drive but he managed my expectations very well. He was open about the process and although it was necessary to charge me a small fee for his labour, I felt reassured that everything that could have been done had been done. I also learnt lots from our chats!

Great Service Spanning Over a Decade!

Great Service Spanning Over a Decade!

Just had my second new PC rebuild from here and outstanding service to my desired budget with honest and reliable advice from the start. I've been using City PC since I had a hard drive failure on a academic built laptop resulting which they were able to recommend a data recovery for and also build a new machine for me to use going forward. That machine lasted 7 years, with it only being upgraded due to my beloved MS-XP no longer being supported.

I would not hesitate to recommend them for any of the services they advertise, as I know they will always be up front on what's achievable and the costs involved, going above and beyond.

Thanks again!
