Despite facing last-minute changes due to a split exchange and completion, they remained calm and accommodating throughout. We have used City Removals twice - once when moving from London to Essex in 2017, and more recently in 2024 for a local move in Essex. Both times, the team was fantastic. The booking process was hassle free, the packing team were very professional and careful with our belongings, and the removal team were also very professional, organised and efficient.

We were really impressed with the way the team handled the move - no issues at all. Just lots of hard work, and finding solutions to difficult challenges. We were worried before the move that some larger furnishings would not fit throught the door or up the stairs, and the team found a way around this that we hadn't even considered.

We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending City Removals to people if they want a professional and hard working team to handle the complex logistics of moving house!

Very good experience. It went fast and the furniture was taken care of. Unfortunately a lamp broke during the process but the company refunded us the price of the lamp the same day which was greatly appreciated. We will reuse City Removals if we need to move again.

These guys were like machines, they did so much so quickly and with a smile. They worked none stop whilst they were moving us over 3 days. They were on time, always polite and careful with our possessions.

I have used City Removals twice to move quite a lot in and out of storage during a renovation. Both times have been stress free and positive. They are easy to book, the quote was clear and competitive, they arrived promptly, worked hard, quickly and carefully. They also listened carefully for handling of specific items, and made sure everything was going back to the right room on unpack. Really could not fault them! Highly recommended.

Very professional service, can definitely recommend. There was a dedicated manager for the move who coordinated everything - we did a walkthrough of what needs to stay vs go, and how to label the boxes. they were quick, efficient, and careful with packing everything and all arrived undamaged. In the new place, they assembled the furniture and moved all the boxes to where we needed them. thank you!

City removals were fantastic moving us to our new home. Their quote/video survey procedure was efficient and accurate and all the pcking materials were delivered within a couple of days. Customer services called to confirm the move the day before and the movers arrived promptly on time at 8am. They let us know as each room was clear so we could clean as we went. They dissembled beds and other large furniture and reassembled it at the other end. On arrival they walked up round our new home to dicuss room allocation and layout and they put all the furniture exactly where we wanted it. They even checked when they though an item didn't fit/didn't work and happily removed it to another location/room. Our belongings were well looked after and arrived in perfect condition. The team were one mover short on the day due to a personal emergency. It didn't delay them at all, they worked relentlessly hard. We had a call from customer services on the day to apologise and check we were still happy with the service, which we were. The company then paid the two movers the additional wages of the third. It was great to know that they looked after their employees.

We had a split exchange and completion sale/purchase that went to last minute to confirm, involved packing, storage and subsequent delivery. Cannot rate this company high enough. Fantastic team: Nicola endured multiple panic calls over completion dates and the packing/moving teams went about their work with nothing too much trouble. Highly recommend and would definitely use again.

We had quite a complicated move with objects going to different destinations or storage. City Removals staff were very helpful, clear and efficient in organising this and in communicating how it would all happen and how much it would cost. All went without a hitch and not a single breakage. Highly recommended.

City Removals came to survey the contents of my home , gave me a price , which was extremely competitive.. I gave them a move date , they were there 8am sharp to carry out the house move , the service of disconecting TV's , appliances, disassembling beds and wardrobes and then re connecting appliances and re assembling the furniture etc was a great help, the 3 man team were polite and respectful of ALL contents in the old and new house - I TOTALLY RECOMMEND their Services 100%

Agreed date for move with them 2 months in advance only for them to pull out just a week before we were due to move as ‘HR had allowed too many people to take holiday’ . Really disappointing and wouldn’t recommend. Since posting my review they have asked me to remove this post on the basis that it wasn’t a ‘confirmed booking’ because like anyone moving house we couldn’t confirm the exact moving date until we exchanged contracts. Not a stress you want just before moving.

This is the second time we've used City Removals. Both times they have been incredibly quick to respond, friendly, and professional. The move we just completed was highly complex - pickup from two places, then 5 vans on the ferry to the Isle of Wight -- and they figured out the logistics easily and delivered exactly when they said they would. And, they're all very pleasant, helpful people. We will definitely be using them again.

Choosing a mover for a Christmas Eve relocation is not easy, but City Removals' positive reviews and "Which?" recommended trader status gave me confidence. Overall, they delivered a good experience, though a few minor issues prevent a perfect score.

Pros:

Professional & Careful Packing: The team assigned to my kitchen and living room were fantastic! They packed everything meticulously, ensuring safe transport.

Responsive Customer Service: Any concerns I raised were addressed promptly and professionally by their customer service team.

Transparent Pricing: I appreciated the clear and upfront quotes with no hidden fees. This was a refreshing change compared to another company I regrettably used later.

Comprehensive Services: Having essential services like appliance disconnection/reconnection and furniture disassembly/assembly included in the quote streamlined the entire process.

Cons:

Minor Delay: The team arrived 45 minutes behind schedule, which caused a slight delay. Athough, they where supposed to arrive 7am but arrived 7.45am which is still early.

Packing Inconsistency: While the kitchen and living room packing was top-notch, the bedroom packing felt rushed, and some items weren't as well-protected, resulting in minor damage.

Final Thoughts:

City Removals provided a mostly smooth and stress-free moving experience, even on a busy day like Christmas Eve. Their transparent pricing, comprehensive services, and responsive customer service are commendable. While there's room for improvement in ensuring consistent packing quality across all teams, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend City Removals.
