Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs. I was less than impressed with the intruder alarm company I had for my main farm house, so when I was building my retirement home on the farm I decided to use a different company, CIA; they have failed to answer or return calls, respond to emails or post. On the basis of their performance I would have absolutely no confidence in them responding to an emergency. I am now cancelling my maintenance contract with them, and would urge any reader of this review to do the same.

Avoid this company !! Customer service is non existent - service levels are awful

I would give less than one if possible to do so. Avoid this company at all costs.
Despite not being able to reach them by phone for days or getting any response from emails sent. I did finally get a phone call from somebody who told me they could not help me as they no longer deal with the supplier of the CCTV system they installed. I would have to contact the original manufacturer of the system for help.
Then 3 weeks later I get sent an invoice requesting payment for that advice. I called to question why as no actual service had been provided and no mention of the call being chargable was given in advance or on the call itself. I was told it was in my terms and conditions !! I don’t have any terms and conditions other than those printed on the reverse of the invoice sent.
When this company was actually CIA and a local company service was very good.
Just avoid at all costs would be my advice

Good people and a local business - their admin could be better

Good people and a local business, but you need to be on top of the details! Invoicing was incorrect as the initial deposit was not deducted from the final invoice - only minor but I then needed to check everything. Installation was perfect, all set up well. Annual maintenance visit was unannounced, luckily we were home. The service itself was great, the engineer was experienced, friendly and replaced required batteries. Website form for keyholder update does not work and says "Processing" permanently meaning I needed to call them to update data. They need to improve their internal IT and data management!

Avoid this company!

Avoid this company!! From start to finish this company has been appalling. The initial set up resulted in a bunch of flowers being delivered to us as the team was ridiculously unprofessional, we should have seen the warning signs. Since then we have been battling to get rid of the equipment. It doesn’t work properly for us, and we are constantly having issues. It gets to the point where we don’t even bother reporting it as we know nothing will ever get done. Our scheduled appointments are never honoured & the engineers arrive at the most inconvenient times where we aren’t able to shut our system off as we have a restaurant full of customers (meaning that the issue isn’t resolved again) It’s truly been the worst mistake going ahead with them. We were told by the sales rep that we could cancel anytime & unfortunately after his departure & our complaint we were made aware we were fixed in for a system that doesn’t work for 5 years!!! We have even enquired about removing a camera that doesn’t get used anymore, we got told we would be charged for this removal cost. It’s one thing after another with this company & we are completely fed up with them. If I could give a 0 rather than a 1* I would.

Poor service

Despite £156 per quarter service charge, totally uninterested in fixing multiple errors, with the monitoring service calling us in the middle of the night. Avoid

CIA Waterlooville Delivers Exceptional Service!…

I discovered yesterday afternoon I had lost a very important set of high security keys which I purchased from Matthew at CIA in Waterlooville over four years ago. A panic call to Matthew completely put my mind at ease, his very cost effective solution would solve the problem. All I needed to do was call into the shop with the existing lock barrel which he would re-configure and supply new keys. I was very happy to travel the 15 miles from Lee-on-the-Solent, drop the barrel into Matthew, have a quick lunch and return to collect the barrel and keys. Absolutely fantastic service, make the journey to CIA for outstanding service - I did!

'Faulty' alarms and poor customer service.

Alarm installed in 2019. A year later it develops a fault in the middle of the night, going off at 3am EVERY night for a week. After days of trying to get hold of someone an engineer comes out for 10mins and charges £90, despite it being under 'warranty'.The 'fault' can only be fixed by an engineer visiting. Now in December 22 we get a letter stating our alarm needs new maintenance cover, circa £200. Within days of the letter arriving, the alarm develops a fault at 3am. It is a con. Avoid.

AVOID - terrible service (alarm section)

CIA took over the servicing of our alarm from an another independent company. The service was awful (mostly the admin side) so we cancelled our annual contract. However, we found out that we would have to pay £182.40 to have their engineer to come out to put in their code into the keypad so the new company could take it over! AVOID - Have to pay for the privilege of getting out of receiving a terrible service!!!

Not sure if they are still operating fully

I'm a client for over 15 years. Telephone service has deteriorated rapidly over the last 2 years - evidently not managing post-covid staffing well at all. 30 minute hold times, full mailboxes etc. As of today, urgent service call mailbox is full and calls being handled by "a building over the road". In short, everything you wouldn't want from an alarm services supplier. Avoid at all costs and find a better managed company.
